About LittleBigPlanet

Here’s what Media Molecule has to say about LittleBigPlanet:

The LittleBigPlanet experience starts with players learning about their character’s powers to interact physically with the environment. There are obstacles to explore, bits and pieces to collect and puzzles to solve – requiring a combination of brains and collaborative teamwork. As players begin to explore, their creative skills will grow and they will be ready to start creating and modifying their surroundings – the first step to sharing them with the whole community.

Characters have the power to move anything in this glued and stitched-together landscape;

They have the power to design, shape and build both objects and entire locations for others to play.

There’s no complicated level editor; all of these skills can be learnt by simply playing the game. Creativity is part of the gameplay experience and playing is part of the creative experience. Players can make their world as open or as secretive to explore as they like.

When it’s ready, they can invite anyone within the LittleBigPlanet community to come and explore their patch – or can go and explore everybody else’s.

Some notes about LittleBigPlanet:

There has been some confusion of how to spell LittleBigPlanet. Notice that the game is LittleBigPlanet (no spaces), and not Little Big Planet.

  1. There was also some confusion surrounding the name LittleBigWorld. It seems that this was occasionally used during the early stages, both by the media and Media Molecule themselves, and was possibly a production title.

  2. Suggestions:

    * Maybe change Affiliates section name to something like Links, unless you are actually affiliated with those companies…

    * Provide a means to give feedback other than commenting at the bottom of sub-pages, like an email address or something.

    * Three images in “screenshots” aren’t screenshots. Maybe stick them in a downloads section, alongside the MM desktop wallpapers?

    I’m glad you liked some of the ideas on http://www.littlebigplanet.wikia.com. The content on the wiki is not owned by anyone, other than possibly Media Molecule and Sony, so feel free to use it on your site.

    I’ll sort out the wiki so that your link is easier to find (fansites page in community). :)
