I've never liked the game (and, no, my Americanism has nothing to do with it). At least, not the recent ones. Although that "PS3-only" mode is a little enticing.

Fifa was dead to me for a while but I liked the changes they made to the control scheme in the last couple years. Fifa 08 was the first Fifa game i picked up since 98. I'm definately picking it up since it still has the official license for the Portuguese Liga. I love going online and schooling people as Sporting Lisbon in Fifa 08 :P.

that is exactly wat i wanted to say, however since the gameplay flopped for fifa since 98 PES has been my main soccer game, graphics not as good as fifa and teams like Arsenal not lisenced, thus it was called...North London with a plain red and white shirt.... *sigh*. but fifa has made a real comback in 08, it was much harder lol

Ya I know I was playing PES almost exclusively for the passed few years and to me the gameplay is still a little bit better then fifa its just theyre severely lacking in the production values. Commentary is terrible, graphics have always been bland compared to fifa(good animations though), no league licenses(I know how you feel about arsenal, they had Sporting in one version and it was just named S. Lisbon and the worst was they didnt even have the striped green and white jersey just plain green and white). It was only a matter of time before Fifa caught up gameplay wise. I can only have one and right now theres just too much in Fifa that I want for me to say no lol.

FIFA isn't my thing. I'm a die-hard Pro Evo / Winning Eleven-fan. But I have to admit, that the new mode and the graphics are looking sweet at FIFA 09. But I'll buy PE definatly.

I have never tried the game, is it a good game for soccer? Maybe I should check it out but I know I like Madden, basketball and hockey.

Being a Pro Evo fan since the old ISS days, the fact I bought Fifa 08 over PES08 is really something. I figure I'll be doing the same this time around, can't bloody wait till Fifa 09 is out! Pro Evo has fell so behind
