The Imaginarium Of Jimmy HatchetRiCKy-BoBBy91
Enter the imagination of a little wizard named Jimmy Hatchet. (I basicallly wanted to make a unique level that no one has ever experienced and this was the outcome.)

Your level has already been recommended: http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18991

If I remember, I'll try this level. :)

This quote from shropshirelass (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/member.php?u=4795) has pictures:

An very charming level. Both fun to play and beautiful looking. Like Shenoa I loved the the little umbrella lift and the maze puzzle. It's one of those levels you will want to play again just to take in all the lovely little details. I'm sure it will be a big success.

Here are a couple of pictures to be going on with until Endless_Echo has a chance to post some

And thanks to Endless_Echo (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/member.php?u=5478), he has some pictures too:

I got the pics uploaded for you!

I sent you a link to the web site containing the photos. You can delete this post of mine on here once you get them up!

And yes, you're character turns COMPLETELY GRAY in this level. Amazing, huh?

Found this one somewhere on the cool pages last night (thats one impressive rating you have there, 1000 hearts, 4000 plays and 5 stars, wow! :) )
I love the visual style, reminded me a bit of a level from jump button. I was a bit afraid that it was gonna be another nice looking level without much gameplay, but i was wrong! Actually i don't really know if i can say anything bad about it, I love the visuals and the theme, love the gameplay, everything is really well balanced... the only nitpicky thing i could say is maybe to add some sort of cut scene when you move the last trigger (so you actually see what it does).
5 stars and a heart, fantastic level! Looking forward to see more of your levels

An unbelievable level. It's fun and has a wonderful design. Five stars for you.

11-23-2009, 02:12 PM
wow. some beautiful looking pics... I'll be sure to check this one out. Thanks for posting it.

The setting in the imagination of a character makes this ultra stylish level a wonderfully quirky experience.

Just played it today. Very good looking. Reminded me of Psychonauts for it's style. If there's any level better than this, it's probably Post-Apocalyptic.

Looks fantastic, awesome job on the visuals with this! Very unique and memorable, and lots of little details that really make the level a class act. My only negative was i'd have liked a little more surprise and quirk in the gameplay department. The umbrella was an inspired replacement for a grab sponge, a few more touches like that would have been ace. You got 5 stars from me regardless, its a beautifully done level.

A nice level, but game play could be improved. In my opinion, I think it should be harder.

By the way, the thing that is most likely making your level overheat is the stickers, a good idea would be to link the objects together, so you could use 1 sticker instead of 2 or more.

Well I played it and wasn't disappointed. Such a beautiful looking level and fun to play. I loved the attention to detail. out of interest, how do you get the player to look off green like that? Is it simply the lighting setup you used?

Great stuff anyway, 5 stars and hearted.

11-23-2009, 10:59 PM
How did you get the player grey!!?!?

This looks, just, I can't describe it. Too awesome for mortal words lol.

11-23-2009, 11:33 PM
As stated, beautiful level and very nice platforming. It was like playing a work of art.

One thing that came to mind while I was playing it - I would have loved to see some really creative and mechanical puzzles thrown in. It's certainly not a "con" for this level, but it seems like it would fit.

Great job - 5 stars and a heart from me also.

I'm guessing that the player is gray because all he is on is glitched material that looks like glass. Since the fog in the background is gray, the player will be covered by the fog, but glass won't show fog, that's why it is not gray.

Wow, what a great level. This is a top 10 by far. Totally worthy of the 5 stars it has. The gameplay was perfect...... and the visuals,,, well i think u may be the master when it comes to those. Great job! and thanks for a masterpiece that lbp will be playing for years to come!

This level is amazing looking, and fun to play.

Hey R-B
Cool level dude. I like your art style and expressive imagination in general in this and all your levels. I too like the extreme contrast of black and white, but have only done one in that style. I have one coming soon that is in black and white, keep an eye out for it. Sorry, I hope i don't come off as spamming, just think we're like minded in art direction is all and thought you might be interested. But back to you, yeah, your levels are a breath of fresh air out there in the community. Keep up the creativity, it's much appreciated

the art work is the BEST i have seen but a race or something would make it just that much beter
you still get my:star::star::star::star::star::star:
(i know that is 6)

11-25-2009, 12:38 PM
I played this last night. Great art style. Five stars from me! ^_^ I would have given you 17 stars if I could.

11-25-2009, 03:52 PM
Loved it - absolutely stunning - felt like you'd taken a lot of different visual influences and got them to come together as something really original and striking. Great puzzles - taxing enough to be interesting but not so much that you wanted to bang your head on the desk.

Five stars and hearted. Thanks.

As previously stated this level has a terrific art style...

In fact, it is personally the best I have ever found on LBP... I 've got to believe Warlord Evil described the process correctly in an earlier post... I am jealous and envious, I've been trying to figure out a similar effect for months (similar but still very different) Great visuals and sound gameplay. As creators, I think we all strive to bring something unique to the table... Congratulations! for me you have entered into a very rare arena. Your level sparkles.

11-25-2009, 08:59 PM
Beautiful, beautiful level. I can't fault it. Everything worked out great - the kinda 2d design thing you got going on there works a treat - but even though it was mainly black and white, that still didn't stop you from decorating it even more! Artwork - great! The obstacles were good, and smartly thought out. Very smooth - not a single glitch (that I could come across anyway).
:star::star::star::star::star: and a heart for you!

11-26-2009, 10:07 PM
:) you all way been one of my fav's maker on LBP I can see I have to step my game up now XD

did you use the light under? to get the white to show well or is it not that?

I hope it keep its 5 stars on in LBP :)

Amazing as always :)

Really nice level, I liked the art style and how it even changed the look of the sackboys playing it. you should definitely make a sequel.

11-28-2009, 01:23 AM
OMG I thought those were fantastic concept works for an upcoming level! I didn't know it was in-level pictures until I closely saw sackboy!

11-28-2009, 01:37 AM
This level was a very good one..no wonder it had so many hearts and 5 stars...so i checked it out on the first page of coolness ;) ...and i was surprised in a good way, this level was only short, the only bad thing about the level..., if i rated this level, it is a 9.5/10...

11-28-2009, 02:07 AM
Great level. It is just creative and AWESOME.

11-29-2009, 12:09 PM
Great design as always with great gameplay as well. Its a shame it went down to 4 stars.

11-29-2009, 01:07 PM
I hereby coin a new term : wowalicious.

Amazing visuals, that felt like walking around an expressionist painting*. The attention to detail is awe-inspiring, you could spend all day just trying to pick up on all of the little details that have been added for effect.

I'm surprised the thermo held out that long, to be honest. The gameplay is simple but there were some interesting twists in there, and all of the gameplay elements didn't detract from the visuals or from the flow of exploring.

:star::star::star::star::star: and a heart.

* not an art major

Great level. I've written a critique (http://freemusing.com/littlebigplanet/2009/12/sublime-levels/the-imaginarium-of-jimmy-hatchet/) for a fansite that I've just started. I hope to showcase more levels of this quality.

Here's a 90-second, HD teaser (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkkxbRaWLFs) that I've recorded of my first playthrough. Rather than show the whole thing, I think it's better to spark people's interest and get them to play the level.

Well done.

Out from the pictures, I can see your level is just super-awesome!
I can't wait to get my PS3 back, it shall be the first level I will try:):):)

12-21-2009, 09:48 PM
This is amazing! 5/5 stars!

12-30-2009, 01:13 PM
Wow - the level is awesome! One of the best i've ever played and definitely THE best black-white (-grew) level so far.
If i were able to give 6 stars I would do this! AWESOME!

5 Stars and a Heart of course!
