(So, firstly: I'm quite new here, so if I'm doing anything wrong, please do tell me, and I shall change my ways as soon as possible.)

So, after having gotten LittleBigPlanet PSP for Christmas, and already having some experience with the game's system (Playing it on my friend's PS3), I'm currently working on my first big level.

Without giving too much away, I can say that it's based in an underground cave system, brimming with molten rocks and fiery death pits, along with some basic obstacles, (I.E. Swings, More Swings, and Dodging Hazardous Emitter-Spawns) Right now I'd say I'm about half way done with it, maybe a bit less, but the trouble I'm running into, is I'm finding it hard to think up interesting puzzles and challenging obstacles, while keeping it in the "This is an underground cave" mind-set. Kinda hard to believe you'd find and intricate lazer-grid in a volcano, eh?

So I guess I'm just leaving this here to put my own ideas down, and maybe receive some feedback, criticism, and ideas.

(Edit: Also, as my level get's farther along, I might make a list of the puzzles it has in it, just so you can all see what's already there, but for now I wanna keep it under wraps.)

For this kind of theme i think platforming is always a good idea.
Maybe make different paths the player can follow.
You could add different switches (2-way/3-way) to give it a mine-like character and build puzzles with it.
You could also try rocks that are swimming on a lava stream!? (oh i think i have to do another volcano level... so delete all this ideas from your head! :D )

Good News: I now have completely worked out how this level will work, and what will be in it!

Bad News: I managed to do this because the level broke, (In create mode everything appears perfectly fine, [Thus making it impossible to fix, unless I randomly stumble across what's breaking it] but when you enter play mode, the entire level jumps up and down, glued objects come off of what they're glued too, and ropes disappear), so I need to remake it.

More good news: This will most likely make the whole level much more Aesthetically pleasing, since I now know where everything will be, and can plan as such.

I can also now safely say what this level will include:

Basic Platforming: Jumping and Swinging.

More Advanced Platforming: Jumping, Dodging, and Swinging. (All at the same time, Muahahahaha! Well, not really...)

A steady theme, with what *I* consider decent scenery / stickery.

Intelligent use of Checkpoints!

And much, much more!
