I can't find any official news about what it actually does yet, but rumours suggest it resolves some of the piston issues introduced in update 2.03.

Edit: There now seems to be an article (http://www.littlebigplanet.com/en-us/news/article/psp_update_2.04) on www.littlebigplanet.com about it...

It appears that although Strawberry Cheesecake (http://www.littlebigplanet.com/en-us/news/article/out_feb_9th_for_psp_strawberry_cheesecake_update_2 .03) (Update 2.03) was delicious, there were a few elements which spoilt its flavour.

We’ve seen how some community levels have been affected in an undesirable way by the update, and we’ve been busy trying to put this straight.

Update 2.04 (http://www.littlebigplanet.com/en-us/game_guide/psp/updates/#update_2.04) should help to sort out the following things:

Pistons now behave correctly when connected to a dynamic object then a static object.
If a piston doesn’t connect, the player is able to exit the Popit menu.
Scoreboards now trigger whilst upside down, like they used to.
Two emitters emitting the same MyObject no longer causes any nastiness. We don’t like nastiness.

*updating* thanks for the info! i wonder what cake it is?

size: 14mb
Changes:
- Pistons now work normal when attached to a dynamic object first
- They wont get stuck to the popit anymore
- Scoreboards trigger if upside down (i think we can thank lleonard for that :D)
- no more problems when emitters emit the same myobject (didnt notice anything)

its not a cake!

Thanks for the info! I just downloaded it and checked it out. In my level "Lost at Sea" there was a small issue in a part where you would jump off a ledge and grab a hanging sponge which would trigger the ledge to collapse. After 2.03 the ledge would not collapse even though it worked fine ever time before 2.03. Anyway, 2.04 did not fix the issue that 2.03 cause.

I've actually noticed the issue more recently when creating my newest level as well. If you have disappearing material with a rod going from it to some other object, for some reason when the disappearing material disappears, sometimes the object will just continue to float there until Sackboy comes into its vicinity (even if you fly near it in create it will fall, but if you are far away it just floats). It also seems to happen with rope sometimes. It's super annoying, but there are silly ways to avoid it. Sadly, I can't really go into "Lost at Sea" and fix it because I don't think it would be worth starting with a blank slate on that level just to make that small fix.

Woot! Gotta update.

There should be a little notice with this update, Hey, thanks for figuring out how to fix pistons! Good job doing our job for us! We finally got our act together!

Yeah, I'm still mad at that official statement.

Uggh. As far as I can tell, nothing was really fixed. The pistons are still very buggy.

Does the community moon go down when there is an upcoming update? Mine did that for 2.03 and also for this update. So I know when an update is coming....;D

Strawberry cheesecake (2.03) was really a fantastic update, except for a couple of huge bugs. Those are pretty well fixed now with 2.04 and LBP PSP is better than ever.
