I have been wondering how people make complex levels for some time. I have checked out the logic pack levels to get an idea of how things work. Something really inspired me to make a level after I saw the chase scene in the advanced pack. I know I am not a great creator but want to spend time on a decent level so I can become one.

Here is my Idea:

Level starts of in a jewlry shop, you steal the diamond (drag into back of car) then you start the car(grabing steering wheel). Cops start chasing you. I am thinking of making the car move by itself(see logic pack) but having sticker switches so points shoot out the steering wheel or random other objects. Obviously I would spend time on this level and am wondering if people will play it as I will probably have to by the metropolis pack-theme.:(

Do you think this is a good idea?

Edit:mabie I should completely make scenery from scrach?

I think you could go 2 ways:

1. Survival challenge: The way you make it sound makes it sound like a car chase where you use sticker switches to shoot the police? That would be pretty cool, maybe gradual ramp up in difficulty? Dunno about enemies, maybe police cars that move side to side and try and shoot you, and police officers? I'd mabe make them thin layer cutouts with gas behind them

2. Actual level. It'd be cool playing a crime level then having a car chase scene at the end.

Also, yes, make everything from scratch

Yes, definitely make everything from scratch but also using the metropolis theme will be fine to help add dimension.

Thanks guys, you make it seem as if this level has hope! mabie aim for 20 hearts if I spend enough time on it. I jus made the jewlry shop and the car but then it went all stupidly corrupt...never even got around to playtesting this once...2 hours waisted... 2nd time lukcy!!!

Unlucky, remember, exit your level and save about every 30 min, and remember to have a double of your level, just incase. It's unfortunate that LBP PSP doesn't stop you entering corrupted levels D:

Looking forward to it btw, good luck!

That actually sounds pretty cool! Don't doubt yourself though, just keep working on the level until you don't see any problems and it all looks perfect. Also, a quick tip: Playtest the level about 10 times straight. If you haven't seen any glitches or problems, and you had fun, then chances are we will have fun playing it too! ;D
