I originally tried to make a review thread, but failed due to lack of initiative. However I need a new hobby, so I guess i'll try to review levels. I also liek mudkipz on an unrelated note. So i'll rate your level according to mudkipz's. 10 mudkipz's equals 5 stars, 1 mudkipz equals .5 stars, and so on. I will rate your level according to:

First Impressions- Icon, title, description, any intro.

Gameplay- This includes how fun the level is, how original/ innovative it is, if it flows ect... Mechanics will also be included.

Visuals- Essentially how a level looks. Is it detailed? Polished? Uglier than a squirrel??? And so on. Characters included.

Creativity- Speaks for itself.

Length- Also speaks for itself.

Issues- Glitches and issues that need to be addressed.

I will also include a pros and cons section and provide a final analysis. And your epic mudkipz score! Only one level at a time please, preferably your own. And i'll also be... erm... harsh so if you get a negative score, it's because your level wasn't good in my opinion. No complaining! Thanks.

Review for Escaping the Doctors Cave

Okay, I played this level before and it seems different this time, but a good different.

First Impressions- The icon wasn't particularly relevant to the level, just saying. The description layed out some back story for the plot, which is good I suppose. The title is... a title. It doesn't grab your interest as it seems similar to other titles. Escaping the . But it still is appealing in my opinion.

Gameplay- The gameplay in this level was well executed and there were no glitches at all. It was fun to play through, however, the gameplay was unoriginal; most of the gameplay has been done before, which is a bit of a let down and at a couple of points needed more direction, but other than that the pacing was solid and the level was fun.

Visuals- The visuals of this level were pwetty. It was well decorated and lighted throughout. The visuals remind me a bit of jackofcourse's levels. There were no sloppy areas and it was very polished. Have a cookie!

Length- The level had a decent length, not to long, not too short. It took about eight to ten minutes to complete.

Creativity- Its was creative in terms of visuals and plot to some extent, but I felt you could have used more creative gameplay, as it was pretty standard in my opinion. But the dialogue gave me some lulz.

Issues- None really.

Pros
-Fun
-Great visuals
-Great dialogue

Cons
-Gameplay was unoriginal
-Didn't have mudkipz in it

Overall I liked this level, no issues with it other than the unoriginal gameplay, but seeing how this is one of your first levels, I don't think it's that big of a deal.
8 mudkipz's out of ten = four stars.

Before I say anything else, go play this level. Why? This is why.

First impressions- The icon is a ghost, which is relevant to a halloweenish level, the title, however has very little to do with the level itself. Because, as I said, it is a halloweenish level, not a halloween level :p

Visuals and Presentation- The level is incredibly detailed and has a wonderful style. The level is atmospheric and polished. It is detailed throughout the level and has great lighting. I also liked your use of sound and music. One thing however; I felt that the transition from a eerie halloween level to a cave theme a bit... random. No biggie though. Oh, I like the TF2 engineer :)

Gameplay- Like Escaping the Doctors Cave, there are some unoriginal obstacles, but there are also several creative obstacles as well. The levelis very well constructed and you'll never be bored. The gameplay is very polished and is very fun. Hooray!

Creativity- The level author is very creative with the obstacles and the unique style.

Length- Over 15 minutes, which is a great length. If you have a level this fun you'll never be bored, whether it's ten or thirty minutes.

Issues- None.

Pros-
-Great style
-Great gameplay
-Funny dialogue again.
-TF2 reference :p

Cons-
-None except for the lack of mudkipz
-Actually, I found another, some unoriginal obstacles

Overall I feel this level is very fun and very pretty. However I felt that something (not mudkipz) was missing from the level to get a perfect score.

9 mudkipz's out of 10 = 4.5 star

I'm going to start by saying, 2x isn't the right descriptor because it is hardly at two player level, and for more than half of the level, you can proced without having a partner.

First impressions- In my opinion, proper grammar and spelling are important in a description and title. It adds more appeal. This is something that can be easily addressed.

Visuals- The visuals in this level were sloppy to say the least. I recommend using the corner editor and the grid (via the create mode start menu). This will add some polish to your level and possibly save some thermo. However, you had some creative mechanics.

Gameplay- It's hardly a two player level if you can play through half of it without a partner. I played two player, but I noticed that you didn't need a partner for several obstacles. I also felt that the gameplay was a bit mediocre. You had some creative obstacles though. But most of the gameplay has been seen before and better. Creativity- It has some creative contraptions, and the level is a bit atmospheric.

Length- I thought it was a bit short, about 5 or so minutes.

Issues- You can get stuck at many parts in this level, and it's pretty irritating. At the end, I decided to go left instead of right at the teleport... thang, an feel down to the checkpoint and I got stuck. Add my alternate accout FunWithMySack if you want me to point out the issues in more detail.

Pros-
-Atmospheric to some extent
-Some clever contraptions
-Some creative obstacles

Cons-
-Easily got stuck at several points
-Unpolished
-Not entirely a two player level

Good effort, but I felt that the level was rushed. You need to fix some of the issues I pointed out. The level was unpolished and didn't give me any incentive to play it again. Add FunWithMySack if you want me to point out the issues.

What are the requirements to get a level reviewed? I'm kinda new here, so I didn't know if there was a post requirement (I didn't see one)

Anyways, I'd love if you can review my Frozen in Time levels (also in level showcase thread), there are three completed... but I should warn you they take a long time... a VERY long time. Several hours... but lives are infinite and progress can be saved often via sticker key tech. I can promise there's nothing out there like them, but I realize it's a very long level to ask a review for, so I won't be offended at all if it's not your thing =)

bonner123

The only requirement is that it is your own level, expect the reviews by late Sunday.

Yep, it's my level... I should know, it ate up months of my life hehe

Thanks for giving it a shot, I can't wait to see the review! It's been hard getting people to want to try them. If you don't have time for them all, I really need feedback most on parts 2 and 3, though they make more sense if you've played part 1, first.

I'll now annoy you and toss in another open-world level. Red Eagle 2: B2 Bermuda. It's kinda long so if you want you can play the lot shorter Red Eagle 1.
PSN is haredriel and the levels can be found in Western USA and the Pacific.

I hope you like them, and thanks in advance...
Oh, and your avatar is just epic roflsauce.

This is the second part of a level series created by pickled-punk.

First impressions- The description of the level was interesting, and there were no spelling errors :) I wish I could say the same about my reviews:( There is one problem though, I feel as if you should make your own icon instead of on of the pre-made ones.

Visuals- The main problem I had with the level was the setting. I mean, I understand why it (the town) was flooded, but I felt a different setting would make more sense, ie. a island or something. In my personal opinion, a desert theme with water doesn't look very good, but thats my opinion. The visuals were detailed and looked messy at the same time. I recommend that you don't use Mm objects as well.

Gameplay- There were some legitimately creative and original obstacles in this level. It was fun for the most part but sometimes it was a bit tedious. I also felt some obstacles to be unoriginal. It also could use some more direction in some areas but it's not a that big a deal.

Creativity- There is a creative story and some creative obstacles.

Length- It had a decent length of eight or so minutes, assuming you know what you're doing.

Issues- Could use a bit more direction and it could be a bit more polished.

Pros-
-Creative obstacles
-Original setting
-Creative story
-Fun

Cons-
-Needs some more direction
-Visuals unpolished and a bit ugly (in my opinion)
-Ending is a bit abrupt

Overall I had fun with this level. It was enjoyable, but let down by the visuals. But don't worry, I played your new level and the visuals are better.

were you still planning to check out mine? I've had a terrible time trying to get plays, only maybe 20 plays in total on the new levels despite posting them on 3 forums. Yet, they get no plays and the bomb survivals even on this site are more popular =(

Oh Great! Another Mario level! We haven't seen THOSE before ;) Just from the title I knew it was going to be a Mario level. So is this good or bad? It depends. LBP has a sea of Mario themed levels and remakes. Most are borderline suicide worthy, but some are great tributes. The question is this:
Does this level fall into the latter category?

First impressions- The icon shows us a familiar face. I wonder who THAT is? The icon is nice, but the title World 1-4 has several search results. I would add something else, or change it entirely to make it more unique. My recommendation:
A G-Rated Blast from the Past
Something less awful than the line above.

Visuals- It's the standard nostalgic pixellated style generally associated with Super Mario, and to a larger extent, the NES. It looks good, but the style isn't very unique. The characters looked pretty cool as well. The player tracker is creative and unique, but I feel it needs to be smoothed out, as it is very rough and in pretty annoying.

Gameplay- The gameplay is true to the original. You run, jump and generally avoid getting burned to death by fire, or in this case, suffocated by gas. This brings nothing new to the table in terms of gameplay, but it also does nothing wrong. It's a fun level, and thats what counts. I liked the way the Koopa King died (true to the original) But his fireballs are being shot too high up. But that doesn't interfere with the fun of the level.

Creativity- The way Bowser dies and the player tracker are the only really creative elements to this level. A tribute level is a tribute level...

Length- My main problem with this level was the length. I mean, I know you wanted to recreate the level but I feel that you could have extended it via the power of IMAGINATION! The level is over way too quickly, and i'm pretty sure you have enough thermo to add more.

Issues- The player tracker could be more fine-tuned and the level could be longer. But other than that the level is issue free.

Pros-
-Faithful to the original
-Fun
-Good visuals and characters
-Player tracker is cool...

Cons-
-But it could be more fine-tuned
-Unoriginal
-Too short

Overall, it's good, not great. It's better than most other Mario themed levels out there, but not the best. I would recommend addressing the issues I pointed out so that the player will have a better experience. Good job, I enjoyed it.

Well, in my defense I set out to make the most accurate recreation possible so that is why it is short. Also, I filled up the thermo, in fact I filled it up several times and had to trim down over and over again to squeeze everything you see in.
