So to my understanding you can collect a headset (microphone and headphones) to your PS3 and use them in LBP to talk to your friends online while your playing or creating levels.
Is this true? I just need clarification so I can decide whether to buy a headset or not:)

It is :) The sackboys will even move their lips (lipsynch) when you talk! (confirmed)!

Guess I'd better save up. The headset and sackboy lipsynching will be awesome for machinima.

Oh yeah. They even support lip-synching your sackboy to your voice so it looks like he's talking when you are.
EDIT: I bought a Jabra BT2010, and it works great. 2 hour charge time, 7 hour run time when talking, and it charges with the same cord a PS3 controller does!

Yeah, that's a totally killer feature they're adding. I'm pretty sure that's a first in a game. I don't have a headset yet, but I'm waiting to see if there is an official one. :cool:

LOL, that's what it was actually called. I didn't edit the name, bungie did name it that and would let players use it on those that are being annoying on Halo 3.
I obviously know MM isn't gonna put it in LBP, just thought I'd bring it up with the issue of the consequences of voice chat.

I'm actually kind of wary about the lip-synching. If they can do it right, it'll be incredible. If not, it's gonna look really weird.

I just ordered a PS3 Eye, which has a built in microphone. This way, I do not have to buy the headset separately (I was going to buy the Eye anyways for the picture & video features).

I'm tempted to buy a PS3 Eye just for LBP.

It doesn't seem too bad.
I want to see what the lip syncing will look like.
My bet is it will look pretty cool. the only problem is people who have the mics too loud and you constantly hear them and their TV. They'll be lip-synching contantly!

Actualy the technology has been around a while, though its a little under-developed (More moving mouth rather then actual lipsyncing).
You can see examples of it in Games such as Rainbow six: Vegas (1 and 2) and others... But we'll see how far its advanced since then.
And yeah, ryan, your right about mics with too much pick-up. The sackboys mouths will probably be moving to static and background noises

Yeah, what they need is a feature like in MGS4 where you can adjust the Volume of the input, the volume of the mic output, but most importantly the mic sensitivity. This isn't in call of duty 4 and it's very annoying!

I wouldn't be surprised if you could disable lip-synching for crappy mics.

i suggest everybody to get an PS EYE. It's great. You'll have your own stickers as well as a headset.

It works as a Mic for other games, but it won't run EyeCreate, not that I need the Mic, I have the Giotech headset :D

I found out(to my great happiness) that the Xbox 360 vision cam works with the PS3, along with almost any USB webcam. The Playstation Eye is obviously being promoted through LittleBigPlanet, but any webcam will do.
On a side note, I need a DualShock 3 controller so I can play local multiplayer. My whole family will want to try this game.

The only problem is finding a really good one. Would you recommend a normal headset, or a bluetooth?

I wish I knew. I am happy with mine(Jabra BT2010) but I've never used a wired headset with the PS3, so I can't compare. I'd recommend mine if you want to save money and you want a good Bluetooth headset though. It only takes 2 hours to charge and it runs for seven full hours while talking. I didn't find it to be uncomfortable, but I can't say how it will be for you. It's great for the price I paid($29.99 US), though.

It talked with Cartman a long time the day before yesterday. The sound of his microphone was great, I just could understand 99% of his words. I can really recommend him :)

Gioteck make a really good wireless one, or else I guess USB is cool because it needs no charging.. (and they usualy cover both ears) Really its up to you
