Need URGENT Help

Ok something has gone wrong with my ps3 and i don't know what

ok so when i go into a game and press the PS button the XMB game screen comes up "like norma;" but then i can't move i can't like check my messages or anything it just stays on that application Quit game call of duty 4 thing ahhhh

and also then i try go onto the internet on my ps3 the homepage loads and then none of the buttons work so i can't press start to search or anything like this

what should i do

I don't know why this is. I had problems in the past and I had to format my entire PS3 and redownload the firmware updates to fix it. Have you called Sony's Playstation Customer Support line?

Most PS3 problems are solved by

-turning off, wait 10min turn on again (this is hardswitch off not standby off)
-turn it off to standby mode, hold the power button until you hear 3 beeps (I think) then turn it on, this resets the PS3's settings

-format the sucker then try the above steps

-turn it off wait a day and turn it on (unusual as it is, their has been posts around gamefaqs and PSU of people's PS3s being fixed after an overnight's rest)

to format it, in the xmb, just go to settings>system settings> restore PS3 system

note this will delete all your files....

all of it, think first time you turned on your PS3

I only recommend formatting if the above 3 didn't work (which I mean turn it off and wait, reset settings(standby-hold until 3 beeps, turn on), turn it off and wait a day)

I think you lose all the saved settings and it goes back to factory settings, so if you DLed a theme, music, or pictures they will be gone. I think you also have to DL the latest firmware right after, unless they keep it but I doubt it.

FULL system restore takes 3 hours and 20 minutes so if it doesn't work im going to be really annoyed!

Don't jump the gun. Try the simple things first. Try another controller, and or try a wired one.

OMG this is so STUPID!!!!!!

ok so i did a FULL system restart to fix my earlier problem

so this took 3 hours and 20 mins

so i thought sweet this should fix it and guess what it didn't i DELETED everything!!!! all my accounts and my saved data EVERYTHING!@!!!!

i lost all my trophy's and everything!!! OMG!!!!

what should i do and the original problem is still there

and how do i get my accounts back

I formatted my PS3 the other day and to get your account back just go to start a new one and it gives you the option of putting your details in to get an existing one back
