View Full Version : Visual Site Overhaul

was thinking with LBP2 coming and so many changes in this site don't you think it's time for a visual overhaul of this site?

I got these sheets from the LBP.me site and had ideas for great ways to implement them in the site and such:

most of these could be used to give the Community Spotlight a little more "flair" as well as help organize levels based on their genre and such (maybe even edit/make your own Community Spotlight badge to award spotlights with)

and for the rest of the site and background some of these can be used too.

maybe even make a contest to pick out some screenshots to display up on the top to replace those LBP1 pics

and change the background to a darker (or black) color to help save energy and watts

anyways what you guys think?

The only thing about that is there are rules for using the stuff MM provides.

the fasite kits even have them stated in the file when downloaded.

By using the materials contained in the LittleBigPlanet fansite kit (“the Fansite Materials”) you
agree to be bound by these terms.
All rights in the Fansite Materials belong to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Limited
(“SCEE”), its affiliated companies or licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-
transferable, royalty free licence to display and use the Fansite Materials for your personal,
non-commercial use on your own LittleBigPlanet fansite. If you use the Fansite Materials,
you must comply with the following rules:
• You may only use the Fansite Materials to create your own LittleBigPlanet fansite.
• Any fansite that you create using the Fansite Materials must include the following
notice: “This site was created under Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Limited’s
Fansite Kit Terms using materials from LittleBigPlanet.”.
• You may only use the material included in the LittleBigPlanet fansite kit. You cannot
use any other logos, trademarks, characters or names owned by us or our associated
• You cannot use the Fansite Materials if you make any money or gain any other
commercial benefit from your fansite, for example by charging a subscription to other
users, selling advertising space on the fansite or selling anything from it.
• You cannot give the Fansite Materials to anyone else or permit anyone else to use
• You must not alter or modify the Fansite Materials or attempt to do so, except as
necessary to create your fansite.
We can withdraw your right to use the Fansite Materials at any time and for any reason in our
sole discretion. This means that you will have to remove the Fansite Materials from your
fansite immediately at our request. In particular, we will require you to remove the Fansite
Materials if you do not follow these rules; if there is anything pornographic, obscene, racist,
hateful or otherwise offensive on your fansite; if you post cheats, work-arounds, hacks or
similar items for any PlayStation® products on your fansite; or if your fansite contains
anything that infringes copyright or intellectual property rights, or that damages the reputation
of any Sony group company, its products or services.
We do not give you any guarantees about the quality, availability or performance of the
Fansite Materials or our rights in the Fansite Materials.
These terms are governed by English law.

At first I was look! Oooh yeah!! I'd love that!

Then I read the terms and conditions and I was like :(

lol yeah I agree...unless CC could ask Mm and see if they'll allow it (we all know LBPC is a special fansite to them) so who knows

I think they used to use MM fansite kit stuff on here, but they removed it in favor of a user created (not sure if thats the best term) layout, so they could put ads and generate some money to pay to keep the site running.

10-21-2010, 07:21 AM
well we do have ads here...just not that noticeable (which is pretty good imo)

but yeah maybe they could edit those icons or make their own based on those

anyways would be cool to have a new visual overhaul....id like this site to look more darker (to save energy/watts) and have more HD and LBP2 stuff :)

Does a darker color layout actually save energy? I honestly have never heard of that.

And to be fair this layout isnt that old.

10-21-2010, 07:57 AM
yeah because with darker colors you're not using as much light, so you're saving watts

this is what I used to use for google (http://www.blackle.com/), it even counts the amount of watts saved (in hours)

10-21-2010, 08:02 AM
... thats nuts. •_______•

10-21-2010, 08:18 AM
lol ANYWAYS yeah a darker LBPC would be cool...plus the darker it is the easier on the eyes know what i mean?

10-21-2010, 04:34 PM
Tweaks would be nice but I don't agree with an overhaul.

10-21-2010, 04:48 PM
I don't agree with a darker site either. LBP is a colourful and bright game! So the site should reflect that... Which it does!... for the most part...

10-21-2010, 04:50 PM
It's not like I'm asking for the entire site to be pitch black...i'm just saying darker backrounds would be nice (darker meaning colors...not darker as in evil or something like that)

10-21-2010, 04:54 PM
plus the darker it is the easier on the eyes know what i mean?

Unless you sit in a very dark room it's really not.
