View Full Version : Something obvious......

yet I didn't really think of it until yesterday.

Taking stickers, and placing them on a block or whatever, and then tracing them with the cutting tool. For example:

You're trying to make an animal, say a tiger. You're having a tough time with you admitted lack of artistic skill. So instead of making one from scratch, you get a really good picture of a tiger from the web, put it on your PS3, and then slap it on a block. You then trace around the sticker with the cutting tools until you have the shape of the tiger. If you want, you can keep the tiger sticker on, or you can remove the sticker, and you have the tiger shape ready for painting and/or other stickers. You could then place the joint points on the tiger, so he can become an enemy, or you can just use him for scenery.

This works for all sorts of things. I plan to use a lot of this in my levels, mostly to just trace, and then remove the sticker, so I can use my own skill for the painting, etc etc.

I realize it's a rather obvious use for the stickers, but it just thought i'd share.

I've actually seen this in a lot of the create videos. It is a really good way of detailing a shape.

I actually never thought of that. Great idea, that could be an awesome way to create cars or rockets or whatever.

I figured that one out a long time ago but, good tip for those who maybe haven't noticed. I'm gonna be using templates a lot for my first big planned stage. Can't wait!

Well, I dont have the time to draw alot of backdrops or objects for the "History of Man" level, so I'll be gettin' some photos from the interwebs :p
