okay well im trying to make a mine cart run on a track. My problem is that i cant figure out how to do it. are there railroad tracks you obtain within the story? or do you have to make them??

i also wanted to add platforms that bolt up from the ground and walls. how would i go about doing that??

im trying to make an elevator that runs on a motion sensor somehow as well.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thank you.

I have no idea how to make tracks, but yeah, you have to build them yourself.

As for platforms, attach a platform to a piston. I suggest you do the creation tutorials, it teaches you all about pistons, bolts, ect.

And for the elevator, attach the motion sensor's green wire to the piston, and done.

Of course, you should play with the settings for best results. Have fun! :arg:

I'm no expert, but I think what you may have to do with minecarts is have two lines- most likely metal- on two planes, and have the minecart encompass two planes, and then it can stay on those two planes without falling off.

Mine Cart: Firstly, create a set of tracks by fiddling with the shoulder buttons until you get a very thin layer in the middle. then hold x and drag as necessary. Add supports by selecting it with your popit cursor, and dragging it in more than one place to the ground, then select the object with your popit cursor and press L3 to copy it. Shift the copied object back a plane and da-dah, your own track. The make a cart, make a cart body that sits on the thick plane inbetween the 2 thin ones you made to do the rails, and then add 2 wheels by using the circle rubber tool and putting the 2 wheels on the thin front plane. Go to your tools bag and place 2 bolts in the middle of the 2 wheels. The cart should now go. To add an extra bit of oomph, instead of a normal bolt, select a motor bolt. Tweak the 2 so that they run in the desired direction, and then place a 2 way switch in the middle of the cart and click on the wire coming off, and connect it to the motor bolts. This way the cart will only run when sackboy pulls the switch.

The other 2 should be covered in the tutorials, although i'm not sure.

ok if you want to make tracks like railroad tracks you need to put the metal that you are going to use, a strip on the farthest paper plane and the closesed paper plane, then you need to make the cart 3-wide and make the wheels on either side paper thin and put them on their respecived sides so that they can interact and there you go, a train track with a train :p:p:p

Cheers!
