View Full Version : Stuck at Creating a Catapult/Trebuchet

I know this is stupid but in the Beta i found myself stuck behind the shear mechanics on how to create a Catault/Trebuchet. I found one on the Published levels page which was huge and i tried it out small but it didn't work.

I want it small enough to just pop into my level and not take up too much space (It will only play a small part in my level) and i want it pretty powerful and i want it to look and work like a proper one. (No emitters)

I'd appreciate it if someone could just give me a basic idea on how to create it so when i get the game i can start work right away :D Cheers!

You should use a wobblebolt atatched to a switch. If you attatch the entire catapult to the ground you will keep it from falling over.

1: Make a stalk out of material on the back plane.
2: shift forward a plane and make the jumpey-forward bit.
3: Stick a wobble bolt inbetween the 2.
4: Tweak the bolt to your desired settings (speed should be 0.5 or less!)
5: Put a sensor switch on the end where you sackboy would go.
6: Set the proximity nice and snug in the area.
7: Hook the switch up to the wobble bolt.

Dah dah and done!

Thank you very much for your help guys. I think i have an idea on how to make one now :D
