I posted this over at consolespot.net and I thought you guys might want it as well :)
Recently, I got a new laptop with Vista Pre-installed but the start animation and noise really bugs me so I made My own Playstation Vista Boot animation and logon screen.
Screens
Boot animation is this with glowing text and The Playstation 1 Bootsound.
The two Modded .dll files are included to download Below.

Here's The Readme
Disclaimer: this was tested on vista home premium WITHOUT Service Pack 1 and Is not Garunteed to work on any other os, service pack
or form of vista,I am not resposible for any Damage That may be caused by using this product.
1. Disable UAC, It May Seem Drastic but if you don't this won't work properly because once you rename imageres.dll the
control panel will be messed up and untill you replace it with the modded .dll UAC will not work Properly During That Time.
2. Navigate to C:/Windows/System32 and locate authui.dll and imageres.dll and rename them both with a _old at the end
(e.g. authui_old.dll). Replace these two .dlls with the modded ones from the pack, DO NOT Shut Down Or Restart the Computer
until both Files are copied Correctly or your computer will not boot.
Boot Animation and sound Is Now Replaced :)
Logon Screen Change
1. First download Logonstudio Vista (Freeware :P), From Stardock.com - Your Edge In Software (http://www.stardock.com/products/logonstudio/)
2. Install and start the Program, then click open and navigate to the folder with this readme in it and then select the file
"Playstation Glass" and the program will apply it for you.
Also included is the logon screen in wallpaper form but I'm sure you know how to apply that!
Enjoy :D
So There You go, but remember that I do NOT have SP1 and do not know what adverse effects this might have if you do.
File :download. (http://www.sendspace.com/file/vjusie)

(I know, .7z isn't that common but it did reduce a 73mb file to 13mb)
