Hi all. Great forum, really enjoying getting more information for creating my levels. I've had quite a few little glitches that I've managed to resolve but the one that's really bugging me is when you set the visibility of a emitter/switch etc to off it then completely vanishes from my level.....? Happened a few times for me and it's annoying if I don't notice before saving and have to sort out all the settings again. Has anyone else had this problem? I know I could get inventive and try and hide these things behind walls and stuff but I'd much rather just turn visibility off.

The only time I've noticed this happening is if resize something to a ridiculously small extent. Normally you can only shrink an object so much, but if you attach, say, an emitter to a large object, then shrink the whole thing down to a smaller size, you can make the emitter a lot smaller. Sometimes it will vanish completely. It sounds like you're talking about using the visibility setting though, which shouldn't effect its visibility while you're in the editor. Try editing in pause mode rather than play mode and this might solve the problem, though I can't say that for sure, because it should still be visible unless you hit start and test the level.

I noticed that when I have switches on an object, and I use the corner tool to edit it and the place I edit removes where the switch is, the switch gets deleted.
Also, I noticed that if you use the corner tool to split an object into 2 objects, all switches will dissapear. Same goes if you use a shape to delete part of an object to split it in two...
I don't know about visibility. Visibility will only make an object invisible in "play" mode. Everything should be there in Create.

Thanks for the replies guys. Maybe it's something I'm doing, just have to be more careful. I had another emitter vanish today and I'm pretty sure I haven't done any of the things suggested. It is attached to a fire material though, things like emitters can't be damaged can they?

Not unless the object they are attached to dissolves.

I don't think so. I just made a flaming block that spews sombreros (a usual wednesday) and the emitter worked just fine and was still there.
Are you doing anything that you can think of that might be taxing the system a little? What's your thermometer looking like and have you done anything to kind of cheat the limitations of what the game allows you to normally do?

No, the thermometer is only about half filled and I'm not cheating the system as far as I know. No worries guys, I'll figure it out, probably something weird I'm doing. Thanks for the replies. :)
