Connection Problems

HUGE. I can't do anything online with other people..

Well,

I CAN join and I CAN invite.

But, anything to do with Quick Play, or "Play Online" results in "Game list not started" or "Failed to create game"..

I have problems connecting to stuff on the PS3 in general when its plugged into my router. I've tried messing with port forwarding and DMZ and all that with no luck. I just plug my PS3 directly into my modem with a ethernet cable and it works fine. Its just a pain in the ***.
