I recently finished my all platforming level, Platforming For Dummies. Basically, I wanted to go back to basics and test your skills with the X button. I must warn you, I've been told that the level is rather difficult.

I didn't put score bubbles on the map because I think it is better to simply reward you based on how fast the level is completed as opposed to how many score bubbles you bothered to get. The race has plenty of time on it and there are a bunch of checkpoint, so completing it in time shouldn't be that difficult; however, don't expect to get a good time on your first try. (If you do manage to ace the map first try, you got lucky. =P)

It may not be the most visually aesthetic map in the world, but everything works properly. I have to say, the part I'm most proud of is the part where I got the background layer spinning. That was a bit challenging to accomplish.

Anyway, so go check out the map and see if you can beat my time!

Also, does anyone think adding "For Dummies" at the end makes you think either:
A) that it is going to be easy?
or
B) of that stupid kid with the black hair on front of the books?

My friend says I should've used a different title because it reminds him of the stupid kid on the books.

When I think of Platforming for Dummies, I think of those books that teach you a certain something, if your level is based on teaching people how to play platforming games, then it's a great title, if not, I suggest changing it.

I see. I suppose I should change it then, because it's not really about teaching someone how to play platformers; however, I'm really bad at naming things. So any suggestions?

I love the name, haha.

I mean, it's a good name and all, don't get me wrong, but it's sort of misleading, people would join your game thinking you would teach them how to play basic platforming games. As for suggestions for a new name, don't really have one, you could just make it Platforming for Smarties. LOL! Smarties...

Haha, Smarties are good candy. I suppose I'll keep the name since I can't come up with anything better and I guess it doesn't matter TOO much.

Yeah, it doesn't really matter and the name itself it pretty awesome.

I'm happy with the name, to be honest. It's definitely a tricky level, but loads of fun to play. You've definitely got some good stuff going so far.

"The definitive platforming experience"

Now thats a title. It makes you look good, and every one else look bad.

Yeah, but that's false advertising. Then again, so are most of the other titles that users have assigned their levels. :p

I searched for your level, and all I got was levels about bunnies

Sometimes you have to browse more. The browsing system in LittleBigPlanet sucks, but I'm sure they are bringing in a patch that improves it. Why would they have a ratings system if you can't even see the top-rated levels? It must have been in preparation for an in-development upgrade of some sort, I think.

Hm.

This topic reminds me- why aren't we allowed to change the titles of our threads? D:
