Its come to my attention that a lot of people have been really messing up their CE vouchers by thinking theres a sticker on top of the code and proceeding to peel it off..STOP! That is not a sticker that is just pain in the rear scratch zone if your using a penny or something without grooved in it then its most likely going to glide on top of the surface and make it seem like a sticker, either:
a) press harder till it works
b) use a dime or a quarter (notice both coins are grooved on the edges)

If you are one of the unlucky who have ripped the 'sticker' off..find it..place it on a solid surface like a table..and start scratching from the wavy silver and black surface till the code can be read..

If you ruined it beyond recognition, contact LBP in assuming and they'll make you fax them a ton of stuff proving youve really messed it up. Its just a hasstle.

These new codes were designed this way so that you wouldnt scratch to hard and ruin the code, the codes are printed (under) the plastic and the scratching part is ontop of the plastic so it basically works like a glass pane window; once you clear the surface you can see whats underneath..

I hope this helps people either recover, or prevent potential damage.

Yes, read this!!! I thought mine was a sticker because one side was already loose, and half pealed away just fine.

Funny. I just saw the voucher and thought, "Oh. Another scratch off code. Better grab a quarter". I guess I can see how someone can make that assumption, but you've gotta think before you act. :P

I thought it was a sticker, too lol...A tiny bit of the corner was already peeling, so that's why I assumed it was. I took it off, but half of the last letter of the code was ripped off with it. So I guessed what that letter was and got it right lol.

...and someone's probably sitting in an office... somewhere, feet-up on the desk, with a self-assured smile plastered all over his face... Confidently he thinks to himself, "Yep! Fool-proof. This time I got it made in the shade...", just as his cel begins to dance across his desk in a vibratory-warning, "DONOTPICKMEUP///DONOTPICKMEUP///DONOTPICKMEUP..."

You guys seriously need a tutorial on how a scratch card operates?!

I'm starting to feel like Wonko the Sane (http://hitchhikers.wikia.com/wiki/Wonko_the_Sane)

I don't normally encounter scratch cards...this REALLY looked like a sticker to me. Scratch stuff I'm used to seeing is a dull silver...not shiny. Any confusion could have easily been addressed by adding instructions to the card...even something as simple as "Scratch to Reveal Code" printed right on the sticker instead of the black/silver pattern. This was just a bone-headed decision on Sony's part.

My code was just there inside, I didn't need to scratch/peel anything?

Same here. I think this is only for the NA Collector's edition.

^That.^
I peeled mine off with no problems. None of the print underneath lifted off.

Nope! I'm North America, and it was a scratch off. Maybe a production error?

Found this out too late, I had to call LBP and luckily they faxed me a replacement code 15 minutes later.

Can you by any chance tell me what the number is unless it's just the 1-800 number on the voucher? Also What option do I select? It gives you like 4 options to use when calling. what happens if I don't have a fax machine can they email me it?

I called them and emailed them about my problem. Hopefully they will help.

Wrong. I am in NA, and it was a scrath off. Maybe a production error?

No, what I think he meant is that it's only NA who got the scratch off's rather than saying that NA were exempt from the scratch offs. It seems you may have got the opposite meaning from what he said.

Weird, I'm from Quebec, Canada, and I have a scratch code, but there is no sticker protection or anything, you just can't try to peel it of, the code is printed directly on the paper and the silver stuff it directly on the paper. And I used my fingers to scratch it just fine. I'm used to this, since I bought two PSN cards before, and had ModNationRacers pre-ordered with a code to write (that reminds me there was supposed to be a Sackboy costume for my Mod, but the code wasn't inside the box, so I called at EBgames and they just told me one, took 10 seconds, they didn't even want a proof !)

I don't know if you have figured it out already or not, so I'll tell you exactly how I received a new code after my excitable and impatient wife started peeling before I had the chance to tell her to scratch instead...(I'm in the U.S., by the way, so this probably won't apply to you if you are not)

Find and call the 800 number towards the bottom of the voucher. Have your PS3 serial number ready (can be found on a white sticker on the back of the system). When the recording comes on the line and asks you to select one of FOUR options by pressing 1, 2, 3, or 4, press 1. Wait for the next recording to start, then press 0 to speak to a representative. When you are connected, they will ask you for your PS3 serial number, first and last name, and phone number. After you give them this info, explain your situation to them.

This is what they will tell you...

You have to fax a copy of your voucher (front and back) with ATTENTION: TECH TEAM at the top to the number they provide you with (from where I live, it's quite a long-distance fax). They will also have you include your NAME, the EMAIL ADDRESS you use to sign-in to the PlaystationNetwork, your PSN name (though I'm sure you all know what your PSN name is, I'll include an example anyway: my email address is xxxxx@xxxx.net, and my PSN name is sixpartseven, so be sure to include both), and your phone number.

Once you send the fax, it could take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to receive a new code, but you will receive it on the same day you send the fax.

If you don't have a fax machine at home, Kinkos and the UPS Store both have very inexpensive fax services that you can use.

Good luck, and I hope this helps (if you haven't already resolved it yourself, that is).

Easily sorted... I've got both. The American (bundled with all the good stuff) Collectors Edition voucher includes a scratch-off panel on the back of the voucher. However the UK voucher is completely inferior (much like the rest of the CE) has the code in broad daylighton the front of the voucher, only to be let down further by the entire back being covered in T&C's.

There is are a couple of interesting differences though, the US voucher clearly states that it's approximate value is $20 whereas the UK voucher makes no monetary value at all. Also, the US voucher expires on 18 Jan 2012, however the UK voucher expires on 21 Dec 2012 (so there's a whole two thing about these CE editions that the UK has better than the US edition - A later voucher expiry (woohoo, even though the voucher doe not look anywhere near as good as the US one) and the Steelbook case.

Hope that clears up that question and..... Seriously, someone had to make a post on this to stop people peeling off an obviously scratch-off cover? The only two thoughs that crossed my mind when I saw & felt it were 'anthoer scratch-off voucher' and 'hmmm, I wonder if I would still be able to see the voucher if I peeled it off, nah better not, just in case.'

I did that to my Kratos code when I got LBP1. (Then proceeded to beg for a new one on LBW) :p

It was my first code voucher, as even PSN cards weren't available in Canada at the time.

I got to buy it when it went up on the PS Store though.

Good luck on getting new codes! Mm's pretty good with that stuff. I think.
