I posted this on the BETA forums, but seeing A LOT of people are new or weren't in BETA, etc, and dno't know many of the tricks, I thought I'd post it in the public forums for everyone to see and know.

Anywho, in case you didn't know, any stickers and decos you place in the creatinator actually stay in the creatinator!

Your setting's in the jungle, and you're a soilder sneaking in the bushes?
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_I414FQfU6PU/TNkcGxQEteI/AAAAAAAAABQ/cksd2IYjDrk/s800/A%20Photo.jpg
BAM!

Wanna make sackboy the ultimate weapon mech thingamajig?
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_I414FQfU6PU/TNkcGSLA_UI/AAAAAAAAABM/zE0KbhmRRaY/s800/A%20Photo.jpg
BAM!

Oh?
So you jus want sackboy to be an animal...a bunny per say?
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_I414FQfU6PU/TNkcFX4_rlI/AAAAAAAAABI/Np9n9p0rUKE/s800/A%20Photo.jpg
BAM!

What's that?
Your setting's in a sci-fi space adventure?
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_I414FQfU6PU/TNkcEzd3P-I/AAAAAAAAABA/1yi7IP-zHbc/s800/A%20Photo.jpg
BAM He's an alien thingamajig!

So, as you can see, you can not only use the creatinator as the tool it is, but to also force a costume upon the player(s) without using Sackbots, simply by setting the creatinator to "cannot be removed," and removing any emittable objects, (or emitting one inv. thing only.) unless you want the costume to shoot something too.

Really good if you wanna set the player for a part without disrupting the pace of the level. (gassify it and place it underground halfway/ minmize it or something so its less visible if you want.

So, yeah, I just thought I'd share that bit of info to show another reason why its not "just an emitter' anymore. :p
(I know some may know already, but many still seem to not know.)

Ps: The straps on the helm and cartridge/ backpack area are also deco-able, really useful! :D

Hope that helps! :)

Wow. Simply wow. MediaMolecule have seriously thought of everything! :D

Thank you for this post, it's awesome to know what customisation options I'll have when I get the game. :D

Did they do this for the other power-ups in the full game?
I'm assuming not but hopefully they will.

Yeah, I noticed that in the story mode, and was like OH YEAH!!!!

Then was kinda sad to see the other power ups do not have the same ability which kinda confuses me, but what ever.

Ahh, ok. I haven't had the chance to mess around in create mode yet, but it's nice to know how to do this.
Thx! ^^

I already figured this out in victoria's levels but this will definitely help some people without that knowledge! :D

That's pretty cool! I never would have thought about it. I was sure the story mode creatinators were just special objects we wouldn't have access to and that we were stuck with the boring old "plain" creatinator. I guess I underestimated Mm yet again. :)

Very cool of you to post that (for those of us who didn't take notice of it in the Story level).

Will definitely put to use.

Thanks!

yeah, I saw this in eve's levels :p

This could be used in a level that takes place in a "mine".
just make it look miners hat-ish and have it shoot nothing.
(sadly, it doesn't give of much, if ANY light at all :()

Amazing!

Since you're so savvy with the Creatinator, can you discern any difference changing the 'Angular Velocity' setting? :)

I believe that's the setting that determines the 'spin' it will give to the emitted object.
It really won't show if you emit circular objects mid-air, but emitting something else, like a line, wil show it more clearly.

The higher the positive value, the faster it will spin clock-wise, the higher the negative value, the faster it will emmit counterclock-wise.

Objects emitted will spin according to THEIR "center point," if more than one object is emitted, they will spin around the center point between them.

I believe that's all the basics about it, hope that helps! :)

If only you could make the helmet invisible and keep decorations....

Well, there are a few decorations that are also lights. You could use the LED bulb or something.

If you place the stickers or decorations on it they will still be on it when the player is wearing it.

How do you add Deco's on both sides? everytime I try place on back side, it auto rotates to front side.

PS. Thanks for the angular velocity info.

Press L1 or R1 to rotate it around when it's locked in place like that.

Had seen it, but your exemples are great!
I guess they did it only on this upgrade because this one can be anyhing.
It can help if there are more than one creatinator in your level (such as fire and water)

Huh...interesting, pics are gone indeed.
I'll try making and posting some new pics, since those were like half a year old, probably don't have it anymore.

But the main point remains, decos and stickers stay on when using a decorated creatinator, give it a try. ;)

HEHE im guessing that most of the threads that i post to will be quite old untill i catch up on everything. i think i understand what your saying that you can actually decorate the creatinator itself and will stay same when player wears it, is that right? would love to see some examples of inspiration if you can find them ;) thanks in advance

Exactly that actually, I'll see if I can make some or find the old ones anyways.
