Hey guys,

I'm creating a level on LBP, but I'm having an issue. I have "monsters" that chase an object through a 2d field. These are set to "Follow" which I wish to mimic a chase. However, "Follow" automatically tries to use a LINE rather than vectors, which causes my monsters to get hung up on wall pieces (THINK: Ghosts chasing Pacman through the level, but instead of ONLY Up/Down or Left/Right, the ghosts try to take diagonals and get hung up on walls."

Any clever ideas here?

You're going to want to mark up your area with tags to indicate what directions of motion are possible. This will be best done by using hologram fields to give regions, then mark the regions with tags on to give allowable directions of motion and use impact switches to read them.

After that you will need to use some selection of followers, or more likely tag sensors and movers, to pick direction based upon the available options.

Side technical note - moving in a diagonal line is a vector. You just want to limit the range of vectors available.
