It's the first level in a long running series (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?p=71632#post71632). Please check it out and give me some feedback whether it be positive or negative.

The first level in the fire series is set in a barren, volcanic mountainous region inhabited by...Giant Ants..... But don't worry, they're actually a friendly bunch. Except those dang red ants that seek enjoyment out of lobbing fireballs at passing by sackboys.

The level is straight up platforming with a strong theme of fire of course. Dotted around the level you may come across colourful and bizarrely talkative sign posts. Right now, they do nothing. But when the series has become fleshed out, they will hold great purpose! :O

EDIT: I re-published fixing a lot of the complaints. Here's what's new:
- Rocks re-arranged in the falling section before the volcano. Easier to get through.
- Checkpoint added in the same tunnel.
- Bouncy platforms leading up the volcano now have a little extra bit to stand on for easier multi-player.
- Volcano bottom now has floor on all three planes to avoid any trouble there.

If you have any more, I'll be happy to address them.

That level was, for lack of better words, amazing. Finally there's a level that is not only pretty, but really challenging. I died so many times, but it only made me want to play it more. You would be doing the community a great injustice by not continuing this series, even if they aren't really popular, because they should be popular. This level was great!

Thanks man, that means a lot. A few people have been complaining about the difficulty and it was actually harder than what it is now at one point. It's refreshing to see someone who enjoys a challenge.

I'm loading it up as we speak, I'll brb with the review.

I'm kind of stuck at the ant thats blowing bubbles, how do I get up top? Everytime I grab onto the bubbles my weight cause them to bring me down....

EDIT: Wow! That took me a while, is it really that hard? ( You have to jump on it and balance yourself?

Anyways, I'll finish my review after I finish the level...

Which.... I failed to do, I'm sorry I just couldn't beat this level it was too hard for me, I got stuck at the part where you take your 2nd ride from the "bubble gum" For some reason the pink floaty kept floating downwards when I grabbed onto it...

As for what I saw, it was very well done, I didn't see anything that was pre-made which means you must've built it all, unless you got those ants from the community. Another question, what were the green and brown signs I found? If those are there to make players replay the level to earn whatever those give, ( I'm thinking you will get switch triggers for those signs in other levels ) then I give you props for that, very well thought out and will get you much replayability. So all in all I'll give it a 8/10 From what I saw, I liked the challenge but I guess the pink floaty material just can't hold Whales...

I didn't actually beat it due to you not having a checkpoint after you fall into the volcano, as I said in your project thread, but you should just describe the gimmick of the levels ( the sticker thingies) and such in the level description, for those NOT from here, so they know the genius of it.

Although I was hoping for more of the sticker things- only saw one. :/

A lot of people seem to be struggling with the bubbles actually. I was going to just make them bigger but then they go way too fast. You have to use the upcoming bubble to propel you further. Once you get the hang of it, it's easy.

A. Huh? There is a checkpoint in the volcano. Off to the right, the moment you fall in.
B. Well the signs practically tell you themselves that they want an element insignia. All the smart ones will put two and two together and realise it's something for later in the series.
C. You didn't think they'd be right out in the open, did you? There's more than one. ;P

A. Before you fall in, and after the bubbles, yeah... but before the bubble part? REALLY?!
B: But wouldn't it just be easier for everyone if you don't assume everyone is smart enough to realize that and just explain it in the level description? Don't you want people to see the genius of the level design?
C. hm, really? Meh, not like it's of any point ATM...

Yeah I started to get it, you have to kind of jump on top of them, then hold on and swing yourself to the next one coming up, and keep doing that until you get to the second one, but that one was just too hard for me.

A. I suppose not. I guess you died by walking off to the left? I could just fix that by placing rock on the left side. Hmmm...
EDIT: Oh, I get what you mean now. I added a checkpoint and re-published.
B. Well when you get the sticker, it'll explain how you can use them so if you played the levels and seen them up to a third level of any of the elements then if you didn't know what the signs were for, it'll become clear. I just don't want to have to put a long message in the description of every level in the series.
C. You almost sound a little hostile there... :(

I'm actually jealous as to how good he made it.

Highly recommended for everyone. This is his first level, to think it can only get better from here.

Thanks bruh. I will of course try and make the next level which will be "Air I" better than the last.

Well, I finally managed to beat it yesterday, so all I will say is: Epic job!

Anyway, I was kinda hoping that the ants would be achieved via using the sticker signias, not level complete things... Ah well, finally beat, and will do it again probably when more of this series is out.

I was playing when you did it so I got the message that you finished. I meant to congratulate you there but I forgot. :(

Anyways, nice job and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Seems someone else didn't as it's tagged as "Rubbish". It also shares tag space with "brilliant" so that's some conflicting opinion there.

I was thinking of sending you a message saying I did it, but didn't because I thought it would be stupid.

anyway, PERSONALLY, I would like all the checkpoints to be duble checkpoi9nts, but that's just because of my dislike of having to do an entire game over again when I run out of lives >_>.

But maybe some rubbish is by people who thought it was too hard... you're lucky that I even played it so many times to try and beat it, which is partly because I know you, although it's also because it's just a good level. Yep.

I am a huge Thrice fan and I'd be lying if I said the Alchemy Index didn't inspire the series, but other than that it has no relation.

Hey man, I tried this a few days ago and it's great. The ants are very cool and I love the detailing you did on your trees. There is a lot of eye candy which I appreciate because it's something I try to incorporate into my levels as well. I was doing great until about mid-way through the level and then it got tough lol. If I have one suggestion it would be to add double life checkpoints. Chances are that most people would not try the level again if they had to restart (although I think most people on this community would) and I don't think you would be compromising your design aesthetic by putting in those checkpoints :)

This is a high quality level that definitely deserves to be in the next community spotlight. If you get a chance please have a look at my level and leave some feedback on my thread. Thanks and I look forward to the next one in the series. :)

Yeah, it took me a LONG time to finally be able to beat it- it was almost tearing my hair out, it was.

But you should have seen it before he added in the additions to the volcano- man, THAT was tough.

Now, however, it's fairly easy, with a nice boss I finally was able to see (I tried the level again today just to boost up the plays for you because it's good, and I died on that boss... still a nice boss, though!). Anyway, please don't get discouraged- it's an AWESOME level. Read that? AWESOME. Please don't get discouraged with the series, it can only get better... :(

Well I had a relatively good day with Air I today so I'm less discouraged than before. Thanks for all the support, Rock.

Oh, I also added double checkpoints to some areas in Fire I as per request.

You're taking too long with getting Air done.

Now I'm forced to play Fire 1 and perish in the flames and black gas.

(p.s Nice boss as well)

Greetings. I looked for this seeing as it was featured on the Community Spotlight and I must say it was quite good.

I enjoyed the visual style you have created. It looks like with the trees you first detonated some TNT to give them a burnt look, very clever indeed. The ants were cool too. There were a couple of sections that I found frustrating though. At one point when garabbing on to that floeating pink stuff (near the volcanoe) there is no indication of when to let go and I kept getting killed. The boss was well done but again, frustrating. Why the blocks of fire attached to it's legs? Otherwise great work.

5 stars and hearted. Good job.

Thanks man, much appreciated. The bubble part you mention I thought was a big problem too. The best thing I could do was to make the platform with a checkpoint and a ton of point bubbles but a lot of people didn't catch on. Not sure what else I could do there. :(

Also, that's not the legs. Those are antenna. D:

I think my level has had it's time in the sun now and it's time for it to fade to the back of the level showcase. :3

Just played it and it was great. The ants made me laugh. I was like "oOoOoh FIRE ants. Gotcha. DIE ANTS!"

That lava bug looked amazing, but was hard as a mofo with it moving all over the place, throwing me into lava. It must've been a...jitterbug. *badoom pisssh*

My one complaint would be to make the rocks a little more straight. My sackboy just slid off stuff quite often.

Hearted.
