Forgive me if this has been explored elsewhere.

A lot of terms like those in the thread title are bandied about in LBP2, and I was wondering how they all relate to each other, if at all... I tend to think of "Craftworld" as the green-blue world that featured in LBP1, but then Da Vinci mentioned it in LBP2 as if he was referring to LittleBigPlanet as a whole. Personally I think space is a bit wobbly in the dream-world of LBP, because although Da Vinci and Victoria live on different "planets", Victoria's world can be seen out of the window on Larry's world. Maybe the worlds are linked by magical pathways like wormholes, or weird overlapping spaces... In other words, you can travel from planet to planet via spaceship (or pod), but occasionally the worlds intersect and you can travel there on foot or other land vehicle...

I've been thinking about this way too much. Obviously. I knew I should never substituted tea for coffee...

Here's what I think:
-The Imagisphere is what we would consider the Universe (i.e. it represents the thing that encases everything else)
-The Wonderplane could be either another name for the Imagisphere or the specific galaxy in which the game takes place
-The Cosmos refers to the outer area of the Wonderplane, here specifically referring to the planet where the Negativitron is
-LittleBigPlanet is the name for any planet in the Imagisphere (Eve's Asylum, Avalonia, The Factory, etc)
-Craftworld is the sackperson's (your) LittleBigPlanet.

Though some people suggest all the worlds except the Negativitron's are connected, which would mean that Craftworld and LittleBigPlanet are essentially one in the same.

A more logical explanation would be that some of the curators share the same planet: Da Vinci and Victoria share one, Clive has his own, Avalon and Eve share one, and Higgenbotham has his own (until the Negativitron took over, of course).

But I agree, it isn't very well thought out. Thankfully, the game isn't very dependant on the story mode.

You're right, the whole thing doesn't really need to make any sense. The place is built out of dreams and so it follows a kind of "dream-logic", ie. not very logical. :)

In my head, loosely figured out, is this: the Imagisphere is the largest construct, being a floaty soup of ideas. The Wonderplane is nested within that, as the ideas start to organise themselves. "LittleBigPlanet" itself is nested within that, making up all the planets and curators and creators and sackfolk, everywhere. "Craftworld" is the core of the LittleBigPlanet, a cluster of the central planets and creators that give it a "hub". Oh, and the "Cosmos" is the name used for the space between the planets in Craftworld and/or LittleBigPlanet.

So, errr, yeah. Bye then.

Imagisphere is what keeps Sackboy alive. without it he would suffocate.

My take:

LittleBigPlanet=Game

Then:
CraftEarth=Planet
Cosmos=Universe CraftEArth is in
Imagisphere=Where the Cosmos is inside. Seperate from the real world, ideas not used end up in the Imagisphere.

So in other words: CraftEarth
Wonderplane means nothing to me.

Huh.
I've assumed they were all the same thing. :P
I don't think narrative/story is LBP's greatest strength.

Here's my try:

(I know I can't draw leave me alone ;_;)

The light blue thing is the universe known to us, the earth we live on and the stuff around.
The dark blue space is the cosmos. The black junk with an arrow are the ideas and stuff slowly floating to#
the green area which represents the Wonderplane, in which the Imagisphere (orange) resides.
Each red dot represents one LittleBigPlanet, one for every creator. The red thing (which turned out to be pink because I made it half-transparent) is Craftworld, which is just a group of LBPs. Think of it as United States.

Yeah, that's how I pictured it from playing LBP2 through, so if there's something in LBP1 that contradicts with my thesis you know why.

Wow, I tend to overlook these things.

I don't think they live on different planets at all. They live on same planet, just in different enviroments (Da Vinci-Europe, Victoria-Africa, Clive-Australia etc...)
So I believe that they all living on different planets is rediculous. I mean seriously; wormholes? The **** game is called LittleBigPLANET, not LittleBigGalaxy(space, universe, cosmos...) Of course it's you who makes decision for yourslef in the end but seriously: this just sounds much more clever.

I'm for the 'one-planet' theory, although there could very well be different planets... But I don't think the different curators live on different planets. I think the differences in the planets were simply an aesthetic introduction to that curator's theme and not necessarily representative of their actual location. What I mean by this is, even though Victoria's section of the planet looks different, this is just for the sake of looks; she isn't necessarily on another planet.

As for classification, Wonderplane and Imagishphere could be the same thing, although if they're not then the Imagisphere would be in the Wonderplane. The Wonderplane would be comparable to our "3rd Dimension" and the Imagisphere then would be something akin to our own Universe. The Cosmos is just that - the deep space of the Imagisphere.

So for us, it's be like "Planets>Outer Space (Also commonly referred to as the Cosmos)>Universe (Also called Cosmos)>Third Dimension". In LBP, the terms would instead be "(LBP/Craftworld)>Cosmos>Imagisphere>Wonderplane"

Craftworld and LittleBigPlanet is where it gets tricky. It's never really made clear if, when DaVinci grabbed you, that his claw is from another planet besides LBP. However, I'm willing to assume that LBP2 takes place in another planet near LBP's... This being based on the fact that the environments and the curators are different. I think LBP1's planet is LittleBigPlanet. LBP2's is Craftworld. Or they could be one and the same. But they cannot be anything more than planets, I can assure you that. It's at this level that the physics of LBP are really hard to make out... And don't even get me started on Creator's Planets in Online Mode!

Uuurm, I think the Cosmos is essentially the LittleBig version of space. The space between the planets because they don't intentionally land on the negativitron, they crash and it's based at that point in space. And I agree with Astrosimi, LittleBigPlanet itself is the original planet you come from, which was all sucked up by the negativitron, not sure what happens to it post game. Craft world is where the first 6 levels of LBP2 are based, then you fly the spaceship into the cosmos and crashland onto the Negativitron's planet, which is a corrupted version of Higgenbottoms creations... I think.. lol. And I imagine that's why he's such a well esteemed creator, because he created an entire planet, whereas the other creators all seem to work on craftworld and essentially have seperate "nations" in which they create etc.

My final thought about this thread is that you all think too much. It's just a game, so enjoy it! Just a game...

You're right. Of course you're right. :D

But listen, I've figured it out:

Imagisphere, Dreamscape, Wonderplane are all the same thing.

Craftworld and LittleBigPlanet are the same thing.

There are many planets. Sometimes they occupy the same space, sometimes they don't. Sometimes you need a Huge Spaceship to travel places. Sometimes you need a duck-boat-thing. Sometimes you can travel by level link. It varies. The surest way to travel is by Pod, because Pods can basically go anywhere and do anything.

It's not a physical location, so it doesn't follow physical rules. It's all built from dreams and ideas, so it has the same logical internal consistency as a dream does - ie. none at all!

PS. Personally I think of the blue-green planet and starry background from LBP1/LBP-PSP as being the "heart" of the LBP dreamverse. The rest of the stuff in LBP2 is in the outer layers.

Or, y'know, whatever.

A more logical explanation would be that some of the curators share the same planet: Da Vinci and Victoria share one, Clive has his own, Avalon and Eve share one, and Higgenbotham has his own (until the Negativitron took over, of course).

You forget -- Da Vinci saw the Factory through his telescope, which was pointed into the distance, not the sky or outer space. So, there would be three planets at most: Da Vinci-Victoria-Clive, Avalon-Eve, and Higgenbotham-Negativitron.
