The current check point system takes up one of the 3 playable depth levels while needing to be stuck on another. This can include being stuck on a thin level so it can appear on the level furthest away.

It's a bit different to most things though in that while sack boy can walk past it, everything else will collide with it on the level it is sticking out of.

This means that vehicles, monsters, bosses, anything that moves or falls gets blocked by a checkpoint if they are on the same thick level the check point is on.

It's just a pain having to cut a hole or redesign set ups to fit in a checkpoint that you walk past while editing but everything else will hit.

What do people think?

i agree. I've played levels where stuff gets stuck on top of checkpoints or a checkpoint is in the way of pushing something. It's annoying, and it's not always the creator's fault.

Yea I get why Mm decided to made it a part of the world like everything else, but it has once or twice been a bother in creating things, would be nice to have the option to make it like a sticker... O_O Hey lol, there's an idea, a Sticker Checkpoint (that works of course) :hero: That would be neat wouldn't it?

I suspect that the reason why it has to exist in a thick layer is that sackboy has to come out of it, and so if it already occupies the space he jumps out of, then there will not be any collisions when he appears.

If it was just a sticker, for example, you could put it on the thin frontal layer, and then sackboy would have no where to go.

Still though, it would be nice to have some way around it. :(
