This old chestnut i hear you say :)

I've decided to shorten my level to aid with thermo. However, the latter parts of the level saw some lazy layout which has put me in the postion of not being able to edit the middle layer, back and front are ok.. thank goodness.

So, whats the best idea? - is there a cheeky way to cut the layer in half, allowing me to once again manipulate it? or will i just have to suck it up and delete the entire layer and start afresh, which as you can imagine im not so keen on :)

Thanks all!

Can you not simply select and delete some of the vertices with the corner edit tool, then run an eraser down the middle to split it?

Failing that, you could try to embed a rectangle that divides the shape in two.... or embed another simple shape elsewhere that eliminates several vertices.

I remember this being trial and error in lbp1, so you might need to get creative on what you try here.

Is it the verticles that cause the most bother?

Is there a guide somewhere i can read up on that you know of?

I am not sure if this is what you mean, but could you use the corner edit to cut a thin line through it. I usually make a small triangular indentation then narrow the base and extend the height til it cuts through

Thanks for the responses - i had to unfortunatly delete the affected layer and rebuild - only took a couple hours so not to worry :)
