So, I have a lot of projects I'm juggling at the moment but once my portion of LBPJ is done I'm going to be starting work on a few of my ideas of level series. These are the main 2 I've been writing and making small gameplay mechanics for. Note that both are heavily story based and intended to be for the more mature user so they won't be very "E for Everyone"

[Outbreak]

Outbreak is a 2 part level series based around the zombie apocalypse. (This isn't one of those crappy "Nazi Zombies" Levels) The first part is Outbreak: Infection. In this part you are alone in your basement with a pistol while waves of zombies come in, then in the daytime you explore the city to find better weapons and survivors. Once you have gathered enough supplies and other commodities the second part begins. Outbreak: Aftermath is a mix of Sim-city, The Oregon Trail, and zombie hunting. You begin with however many survivors you saved in Infection, and one house. You must reclaim areas from the zombies to expand your territory. To win you can either research enough to find a cure or reclaim the town with military.

[Asylum]

Asylum is a many level series where you are a psychic placed into an asylum. The levels are all platformers with different mechanics. You can go into the minds of the patients around you and control them in their mind. The mechanics in each is dependent on what disorder the person has. (Example: The level in the person with Multiple Personality Disorder is much like "The Lost Vikings") The decisions you make inside the person effects their mind and once you leave can lead to any number of endings of their story, anything from total release to suicide. Eventually you delve into your own mind to deal with your past and problems, and much like the people around, your future is shaped by your decisions.

Hmm if the zombie apocolypse will be cinematic with a long story I'd prefer that one

Hmmm... kinda hard to decide, but I would have to choose asylum, just for the fact that it's different.
There's too many zombie levels, I'm sure you would make it well, but at the end of the day there is just so many.

The zombie apocalypse scenario is done to death, whereas the asylum level sounds unique.
I prefer the Asylum level, but you should do both if possible.

I am doing both, just the question is which one to do first.

I agree that you should do asylum first, as it seems the most original. I think however you should do outbreak, but change the setting a little (as, people have said, zombie apocalypse is way overdone) to, for instance an alien invasion or some kind of demonic outbreak. That would be sweet :D

I did experiment with other forms of apocalypse, but the best option was zombies.

Hes hinting that he has a zombie level :p

But, yeah the Asylum sounds much, much better :) Seeing you implement the idea of controlling others to use their abilities would be amazing!

So do the Asylum one!!! Yeah!

Not really controlling abilities, more like not being able to control their disabilities

I mean, what?

What has call of duty done to our common conception of zombies! Not all zombies are of the nazi variety :)

Yes but most of the bad zombie levels out there are either nazi zombies, or are just like it, but they won't admit it becuase they have to much self pride. That or a noob and just following the trends.

But I'm not saying anything else about the hint. I will say its not exactly my level, but I'm helping. Course what with the servers -_-. Anywho, I happen to be a hardcore zombie fan, and nazi zombies hasn't changed my thought of zombies, I just like to play it. Lol

Exactly, we see basically only 2 kinds of zombie levels going around, the nazi zombie style survival, getting points, buying new crap - and the story based ones that are just abandoned houses, with a narrator telling you everybody has been infected, while you move through the abandoned houses slapping a couple of zombies on the way. Now don't get me wrong, a few of those levels are a really good play, but I feel adding a new element to this endless pool of samey levels could work, nevermind the fact that it involves zombies.
Thats why i though the infection idea here would actually be pretty nice. It could turn into THE definitive awesome zombie game in the community and raise the benchmark for zombie games later on. It would be giving a new elemnt to all the zombie games out there.

P.S, its ok spartan, i know you roxorzz :p

I'm thinking since both are almost equal in votes I'll do Asylum by myself while a team and me makes Infection. Any objections?
