Hello again folks! We’re back for our second creation challenge, with a fun and friendly competition that will allow you to show off your level building skills and win prizes. Allow me to introduce this month’s contest:

http://www.lbpcentral.com/images/LBPCC-2.jpg

Enter and compete to win an elusive rare prize crown!

One is the loneliest number! We think LittleBigPlanet is so much more fun when playing with your friends, so this month’s challenge is all about multiplayer mayhem! We want you to create a unique multiplayer experience where you can go head-to-head with friends in cooperative or versus-style gameplay. LittleBigPlanet2’s toolkit allows you to create minigames and other multiplayer levels like never before, so do your best to wow the community by showing us what you can do with multiplayer gameplay!

Here are your building requirements:

Create a multiplayer level of your choice, however, since this is a multiplayer challenge, levels must require two to four players to be played properly. Levels which can be completed with only a single player are not permitted.
Gameplay can either be cooperative, if you want to fight together, or versus, if you want to go head-to-head with your buddies.
We suggest you use a scoring system that clearly picks out a winner, whether gameplay is cooperative or versus. After all, a little competition is healthy, no?

How to Enter

Build a level before the deadline that fits the contest description and building requirements.
Include the text “(LBPC2)” in the level’s title. Don’t forget to add things like a nice looking badge, some tags, and a concise level description.
Publish your level before 11:59PM GMT on Sunday, July 31, 2011.
Post an LBP.me link to your level in this thread, so we’re sure not to miss it!
After the deadline, the judges go head to head playing your minigames and select up to ten semi-finalists based on the scoring criteria below. The highest scoring level will be crowned winner!
The Sackinima team will feature HD recordings of the three finalists on their youtube channel for the whole world to see!

Judging Criteria

Levels will be judged according to the following criteria:

Gameplay – Here, we’re scoring things like fun factor, controls, replay value, and freedom from glitches and bugs.
Originality – How innovative is your game’s design? How does it stand out from the crowd?
Visuals – This is all about how good your level looks. We like detail and lighting and special effects, but try to avoid graphics-induced lag!
Audio – Sound effects and heart-pumping music are a great way to turn your minigame into an addictive and immersive experience.

Rules and Regulations

Entries must meet the building requirements defined above. Whether or not a level meets the requirements is at the judges' discretion.
This contest is open to all ages and all regions. That means anyone can participate!
All entries must be playable in LittleBigPlanet2
You can only enter one level. Duplicate entries will result in disqualification.
The contest officially begins on July 1st, 2011 at 12:00am GMT. Previously published entries will not be accepted.
You can co-create with up to four people, but only one person should publish the level. Team member contributions should be listed in the level description. Note that there is only one rare prize crown up for grabs here, and it will be awarded to the PSN ID under which the level is entered.
Levels must be published unlocked and set to “Cooperative” or “Versus” in their gameplay mode.
Levels must be published before the deadline with “(LBPC2)” in the level’s title. After the deadline, do not republish. Levels republished after the deadline will be disqualified. Exceptions may be made for quick fixes with respect to level titles, description, badges, or major game-breaking fixes, but only with the prior consent of the contest crew. If you need to request an edit, please post in this thread and send me a PM.
Levels must be your own creation. Feel free to take inspiration from the world around you and from other levels, but don’t copy someone else’s work outright! That’s just not cool...

Oh, versus you say? Well, this'll be a lovely change of pace for me. Haha. 4 published levels, 3 of them versus.
I've had a couple of ideas floating about. I'll weigh em' up, develop a few ideas, and get crackin'.

I love versus levels. I like my LBP buddies, but not enough to resist dropping things on them, blowing them up, or throwing them into fire or spikes.

Too bad I can't participate in either this or last one even IF it is scarily coincidental that the criteria matches what I am trying to finish just now, though I won't enter it, that would be cheap :arg: (pirate smiley ftw), Plus, I'll be off on vacation, so I don't have the time to create anything else... Looking forward to the August competition ^^

Good luck to everyone else anyway! :D

Just like last time, I'll try to enter. This time it might be easier for me to actually finish it on time, mini-games are something I can pull off pretty fast (in this case, a month)
I don't really have any awesome ideas just yet, but that shouldn't be a problem :p

...that totally is a problem and will probably ruin this whole thing for me

Wow what a coincidence that my project that I have been workin fits this contest perfectly, If I didn't have a crown I would've entered it in here (Though idk if it would be ready by the deadline). If i do happen to finish it, I might just enter in it just for the fun of it.
Good Luck everyone! :)

@Brian any kind of MP level is allowed, if it fits the regulations and whatnot…

Most of my levels are versus, but they aren't contest worthy due to them not being very innovative. I'll try and think of something.

Holguin86
07-01-2011, 11:01 PM

"We suggest you use a scoring system that clearly picks out a winner, whether gameplay is cooperative or versus. After all, a little competition is healthy, no?"

So it´s just a suggestions, right? Not a requirement?

So that the level can be played only with 2 players, not with 1, 3 or 4.

Here are your building requirements:

Create a multiplayer level of your choice, however, since this is a multiplayer challenge, levels must require two to four players to be played properly. Levels which can be completed with only a single player are not permitted.

2 to 4. :) So 2 at least. You dont need to make it 3 or 4! Don't take my word for it though cos I haven't consulted with the rest of the crew! ;)

I need to be absolutely certain here - Does this mean a level with AI opponents (In addition to up to 4 human competitors) is not allowed? I'm planning on using AI competitors alongside human players, and of course, as a result, it will likely mean my level works with just 1 player, despite being built with 2 or more in mind. Does this mean I'd be disqualified or not?

Sounds cool. One question, can we enter a level we made before, but change the title to say LBPC2 in it? Or do we have to create it specifically for this?

Dortr
07-02-2011, 02:59 AM
It seems like you could technically publish a duplicate of the level that is already published and as long as it has LBPC2 in the title and published after today its not breaking any rules XD lol

Hello!
Congrats to everyone :) The Contest looks great :)
I was wanting to enter the No-Floor Contest, but I was WAYYY too busy :p So I'm gonna make it my mission to get into this one :p
Is it okay if I enter? I just read the Rules and everything, I just have one Question if you wouldn't mind my confusion? :p I've been really clumsy and busy lately due to my serious multi-tasking problem :p

Levels must be published unlocked and set to “Cooperative” or “Versus” in their gameplay mode.

Gameplay can either be cooperative, if you want to fight together, or versus, if you want to go head-to-head with your buddies.

After reading this, is it okay to make a level that's Cooperative and for example, a Platformer level where you have to have 2 players to open doors, 2 players to defeat a boss, 2 players to go to the next areas? Instead of a Versus fighting level?

Thanks and good luck! You're all doing great with this Contest, keep up the good work, and if anyone ever needs any help, I'll gladly volunteer :)

Just as a reminder and a clarification.
Levels eligible for the contest must be published in the July 1st/July 31th time frame.
You can delete and republish your old levels eventually, but that would mean losing all hearts and plays.
So...it's up to you, we of the crew won't ever know.
But...as a word of advice if the levels are old, they will have a tough time against newer ones, simply because the quality of levels increases dramitacally quick in this game.

And imagine that someone tooks/copies the idea of one minigame already made and adds some spice to that and make it more awesome...
Anyway, we wanted this contest to be really free, in the spirit of Summer, so, whatever you'll do it's up to you creators :)

Ooh, a less constricted contest! I still think that allowing remote-control Controlinators would have done wonders for LBPC1 (cough cough, swappablepower-upsonthefly, cough)... oh wait, this is not about ranting

Unfortunately I was unable to finish my entry for the first contest for the same reason I'm going to miss this one in its entirety; I'm in the middle of a cross-country move, and my PS3 is going to be on a truck in a box for about a month. :(

It's really a shame, this is much more my kind of contest. I felt the "no floor" restriction, though a unique way to challenge our creating skills, was a bit limiting. This contest seems to be a bit more liberal, and I would've loved to take part in it.

I know....

Im gonna make one of those Island gameshows like the old cartoon network show total drama island, where its you against your friends against 3 NPC's.

Now THIS is right up my alley! I love mini games! As it happens I was working on a mini game already; perhaps this is its time to shine?

I just have one important question that I need to know.

Are racers allowed? The racer I have been building CAN be played with one player but it is highly reccomended to play with more as it can have up to four players and it was built with head to head multiplayer in mind. So; a Go or a no go?

Also; to my competition. If you're having trouble thinking up an original idea why not get inspiration from party games such as Mario Party, Warioware and Crash Bash. Good luck everyone! I look forward to seeing some pure talent and great levels in this contest! :D

3 Questoions:

- Are controlinators allowed? I read the rules but just want to check.

- Also, if we publish the level to a team account, do you give the crown to that account, then we can each download it on our PS3s. (
- Another question, it said about only one level, so that means we can't level link if we run out of space/thermo

My team have already started and i just wanted to check out if we're within the rules.

Aya042
07-02-2011, 05:30 PM
...do you get an actual crown as a hat on lbp2.

Well, you'll receive a promotional code which you enter in the XMB UI which unlocks the Rare Prize Crown (http://www.littlebigplanet.com/en/game_guide/ps3/downloadable_content/rare_prize_crown/) as a costume piece in LBP2, plus you'll receive the "Royalty" pin the first time you wear it.

Any rules on length?

There's nothing in the rules about this, so, no.

Can the level be 2 player only?

From the rules...

...levels must require two to four players to be played properly...
...so I'd say that's acceptable.

Do one player has to win or can you make a cooperative level with no winner in the end?

From the rules...

We suggest you use a scoring system that clearly picks out a winner, whether gameplay is cooperative or versus.
...which implies it's not a necessity.

In practise, most levels finish with one of the players ending up with more points than the others. Obviously there may be a natural "draw" condition where all players just happened to score exactly the same, but I think the intent is that should be the exception rather than the rule.

I noticed the OP said 'minigames' a lot. Are standard multiplayer levels not allowed?

Does it have to be a "minigame" or can it be a fully playable level requiring two or more players to finish?

The original intent was for a minigame contest, but as no-one could come up with a complete and objective definition of the word "minigame" (since arguably there's no such thing) it was later extended to include any style of level, as long as it met the multiplayer criteria.

Hmm, I still have an unfinished level I built for two previous co-op crown competitions... that's allowed, right?

Any level which has not been previously published is fair game.

And publishing a LBP1 level is allowed, too?

As long as you don't set the "LBP1 Only" option in the publish settings, sure.

Does this mean a level with AI opponents (In addition to up to 4 human competitors) is not allowed?

From the rules...

Levels which can be completed with only a single player are not permitted.

...and I'm fairly certain the intent is that the word "player" refers to a human player.

You can include additional AI characters, but they won't count as "players".

And we decided that
IT'S NOT OPPORTUNE
THE LEVEL MUST BE A NEW CREATION
You may still try to trick us but eventually any good level will have made some ripple in the spotlight thread, will be recognied and disqualified.

What are the constraints on numbers of players? I have an idea that at the moment only really works with 4 players, 2 teams of 2. 2 players only would change up the game mechanics quite a bit, but its doable, and 3 players would be really uneven obviously as one of the teams would only have 1 player.

Is it possible to force 4 players? or should i spend a bit of time rethinking some of the concept fundamentals?

I have a few questions:

1. Can the level be 2 player only?
2. Do one player has to win or can you make a cooperative level with no winner in the end?

1. The level may be 2 player only.
2. Having an innovative scoring system that picks a winner is optional, but it would favor well on your level if you did something interesting to make the level a bit competitive. After all, we chose to call the contest Multiplayer Mayhem! rather than Multiplayer Stroll Through the Park. ;)

I noticed the OP said 'minigames' a lot. Are standard multiplayer levels not allowed?

The official rules state that standard multiplayer levels are allowed, but we anticipate many people will chose to enter minigames.

Does it have to be a "minigame" or can it be a fully playable level requiring two or more players to finish? (Believe it or not but I'm considering entering this one too haha :p)

See above. It does not have to be minigame.

Sweet another one! question ho won the last contest?

Well anyways I think I will enter, it all depends because im going on vacation for a week so it all depends. This contest has revive LBPC :p

We're just starting the judging process on the last contest. It takes a bit to play through 140+ levels and rank a winner :)

Hmm, I still have an unfinished level I built for two previous co-op crown competitions... that's allowed, right? :p

And publishing a LBP1 level is allowed, too?

If the level has not been previously published, then you may enter it. It may be an LBP1 level, so long as it plays in LBP2.

"We suggest you use a scoring system that clearly picks out a winner, whether gameplay is cooperative or versus. After all, a little competition is healthy, no?"

So it´s just a suggestions, right? Not a requirement?

And can the level be 2 player only?
So that the level can be played only with 2 players, not with 1, 3 or 4.

It's a suggestion, not a requirement. The level may be 2 player only or any other multiplayer combination. Levels that may be completed (as intended) with 1 player only are not allowed.

You may use AI opponents, but your level must require at least 2 human players to complete. If your level works with just 1 player, we will not consider it to be a multiplayer level and it will be disqualified.

Would a level qualify if I am updating it, but it was originally published a while back?

The rules and regulations clearly state that if it is previously published, it may not be entered. This would include an update. Best to come up with a new idea.

Time to throw my question in :p

I am remaking one of my mini games in a versus format and I am going to publish it as a new level, but am I allowed to use the old level as a sort of "shell"? I am totally redoing the logic, since the old stuff won't work in a vs format, but I just want to know if using the old level's layout and visuals (which will be way different looking) is ok, or if I'll have to build a whole new staging area and play area.

Thanks - Uberorb

Ultimately it's up to the judges whether they would consider this a previously published entry or not. However, it's probably in your best interest to try a new, fresh idea anyways, if you want to receive high marks in the "originality" scoring category.

You can co-create with up to four people, but only one person should publish the level. Team member contributions should be listed in the level description. Note that there is only one rare prize crown up for grabs here, and it will be awarded to the PSN ID under which the level is entered.
How are publicly available objects (like music) treated towards the 4 player co-creation limit? If I credit them, along with our team of 4, would that break the rules? That would be 5 players credited in total (myself, 3 others, and 1 forced into contribution by using their prizes).

Since they didn't directly make the level, would it be allowed?

The rules and regulations clearly state that if it is previously published, it may not be entered. This would include an update. Best to come up with a new idea.

Hello crew, sorry to be a bother but I have to really confirm the meaning of this exactly. Whats is the definition of "update" in this scenario?

Update:

1. to bring (a book, figures, or the like) up to date, as by adding new information or making corrections: to update a science textbook.
2. Computers . to incorporate new or more accurate information in (a database, program, procedure, etc.).
3. to bring (a person, organization, etc.) up to date on a particular subject: The magazine article will update you on the international situation.
–noun
4. an act or instance of updating: to make an update in a financial ledger.
5. information or data used in updating.
6. an updated version, model, or the like

Little Big Planet 2 techically is not an update of Little Big Planet 1 and is infact a full blown sequel with new maps, options and powerups therefore far more than a mere update. An update to me is The Legend of Zelda: Orarina of Time on 3DS as opposed to the original on N64. Same great game, same maps just newer graphics, 3D, etc. In my example, if I made LBP which fit the critera of entering this comp but couldn't due to it being published/released already, could I create LBP2 and enter that since its a full blown sequel? I hope you understand what I mean with my metaphor, I couldn't explain it better without it. Please let me know because I have a habit of going all out (if I can find the time) & would be dissapointed if I could not enter because I truely want to. Thanks you & great work on these comps. Ive played a lot of great levels in the aftermath of it. Amazing levels from the LBPC1. :)

As per the contest rules mentioned above, there is only one crown, and it goes to the winner.

It seems like you could technically publish a duplicate of the level that is already published and as long as it has LBPC2 in the title and published after today its not breaking any rules XD lol

Actually, it's still breaking the rules, because the content has been previously published. Consider that the winning level is likely to have been seen by lots of people in the community and that it's pretty easy for us to go back through LBPC level threads and see old content. If we suspect that this has happened, the level will be disqualified.

A full blown sequel would be permitted, as long as it's comprised of new content (well, mostly anyways).

My use of "update" above was more referring to taking an existing level, tweaking/editing it, and republishing it (which would be akin do your definition 1), which is not acceptable. This includes LBP1 levels published under LBP2 as retooled/restructured "updates".

Can I use objects from a level that I already published? I have a nice object that I could use in a versus level with some tweaking.

Level Idea - 4th Of July's Big Bang

Ah, fireworks in the night sky. We all see them come Independance day. But some sackfool has decided to mess with them and now they simply will not explode easily. :frightened: Now, now, don't worry. There IS a way to remedy this. But it's riskier than listening to Sackstin Beiber for five hours full blast. You need a buddy for this. You and a buddy need to wield the Grappling Hook and Grabinators to reach the fireworks, grab onto them, and make them explode manually before the gunpowder burns out and they fall back to the ground. With an explosion still inside. And they will then scar the ground ever more, limiting your throwing ability. And if they hit the Grabinators guy, everyone will leave and then you will fail automatically. If you die, give it up. If you live through the mess, though, you will earn your points and deductions for fireworks lost.

Would It be alright If I had an initial intro level with a menu and instructions, which allows you to chose which level you want to play? The level is exactly the same, you would just choose the theme of the minigame like Avalonia or Eve's Asylum.

I really suggest you all to follow the rules and spend your time on what will be ACTUALLY judged.
Use your time to make a cool level, without game breaking bugs, with slick and fun gameplay.
Then if you have the time, thermo, whatever, consider to do intros, menus, whatever.
Try to focus on the fun aspect.
Take it as a suggestion from a friend, not as a crew member. :p

Know what? New game Idea: The Game Of Kamikaze. No, this isn't supporting/promoting actual kamikaze attacks, this is all clean fun. Basically, you and your friend(s) are riding ROCKETS and trying to ram into each other. Dying in this game gives you -10 points, so, basically, the one with the most hits (Registered by an Impact Sensor; Each hit results in 20 points) wins! Now remember, there is one catch: Missing means a potentially fatal encounter with a wall, and a slapstick message designed to humiliate and laugh at the same time. Basically, hit and avoid being hit by people, and repeat for three minutes.

Yup you can publish it locked and then change it to public before the deadline.
About the bad time...we know, though, we need time to set a contest, things are planned with at least 2-3 weeks of advance, and we hadn't clues about the scoreboard mess.

That sounds fine. It's all a question of degree really. As long as the level is essentially a new level, the fact that you've re-used one or two little bits of logic should not be an issue. Just tweaking an old level and re-presenting it is out though. :)

I'm quite surprised so many people are entering levels so soon on in the timescale of how long we actually have. It's a month long competition, 7 days have gone by, that's 1 quarter of work and testing time gone.

I really would advise holding off from publishing just yet, sit back and analyze you're work so far, see what could be improved, test different elements, try and think up new additions to the game-play you didn't think of at first, so on and so forth...

I know its exciting entering into a competition but try not to let the jitters get the better of you. Making an entry at the last minute completely assured that your creation is absolutely as good as it possibly could be is a much better option than entering a level early and then noticing a million different things you could have done but didn't.

just my two cents there. Good luck everyone

Brandon

Crud, you're right. I'd better start working on that level.

I have a question for the judges: Are we allowed to create, say, a lobby level that links to several other levels, or do we have to submit just one level? Considering the theme is multiplayer mayhem, the lobby in this case would lead to three cooperation levels, one for two players, one for three players, one for four. I don't know if I can put out something more advanced than a two player co-op level right now, but it'd be nice to know if the extra work wouldn't go to waste.

There is something that will be judged for each contest as it's clearly stated in the rules.
You guys must WOW us judges with your LEVEL (level as ONE, SINGULAR, NOT PLURAL)
You must WOW us with your ideas, craftmanship, skills, ability to create, be thermo efficient using only one level.
In LBPC1 people didn't focus on what was requested, thought more about Movies that we would have never judged, than on gameplay and originality, for example.
We are asking you people to make ONE multiplayer minigame, in the best way you can deliver it, with the best visuals you can do, the best ideas you can have.
Don't cut things, an idea here, another there, put all you have inside the level if you want to win, because there is only one winner, the one that will put his best skills in one level.

Hope this message will be well understood for now and the next contest.
I may sound harsh, but I'm really giving you BIG hints on how to be really competitive and avoid errors that will put your levels behind the ones of people that understood what had to be done.

Thank you for your response, Omega. :) The single-player mode is just an extra that isn't made for the competition. You don't have to play through it if it's not needed to judge the level, but I was hoping that having that optional single-player wouldn't disqualify an entry just for being there as an option.

Yeah, you can, we won't judge the single player, just suggesting to focus on one thing.

Hi i got a question..
i got a realy cool multiplayer level were sackboys fight each other.. and you can choose bots too if you want to
i build a barrier in the start of that game for only 2 or more player.
is that not permissible?

so if the barrier not stand you can kill bots till 2000 points.. thats the reason for my question.. i have hard worked on it.. is the barrier enough or should i delete the bot option? then this game is only for player, if they want to fight each other.

my question again.. not that this is a problem. if u can play the level alone is it enough to build a 2 player barrier at the start?.. or has the gameplay fully build to play only with friends?

The main problem is that your level was published before the beginning of the contest :)

GOLD RUSH

there is a hidden Island in the sea... full of Gold. try to win the Gold in a sword fight between stars and palms. with R1 you can take your Kingblade and use the right stick to swing it. if you dont have friends by your side choose some Bots before you leave your ship. Why are so many people having trouble with the rules? I got the hint on day one, and went to my moon and opened up a NEW BADGE (gasps) and started fiddling around with two controllers in hand. (I don't have anyone at home to help test, so it's the best I could do ATM) and I started building something I have not seen before. I think that is the spirit of this contest, and I am surprised people don't seem to be getting it.

no GOLD RUSH is not the level. i have build a another one with another logic. it is not published but i think it is finish.. the only think is i have to know.. with or without bots.. i got 2 copies on my moon.. one with.. one without ^^

why people think i try to set my old level in here... thats not funny.. i just like the idea to give the people the option to have more action..

The level for the contest is restricted to 2-4 players (it's versus and logic prevents you from even playing that version alone) but the main menu includes a level link to a strictly single player version of the level.
I would like to hear an official opinion on whether or not this conforms with the rules, if that is not too much to ask. Obviously the single player version would not be included in the judging and the level would be judged only by the contents of the main versus level.

Thank you and I hope you enjoy the level :)

OmegaSlayer

Yes, it's fine Felkroth, we will accept single player links but

above me ^ that is good to hear and a bit farther above, ninja sack (<-btw this only applies if im still on page 12) hearts mean nothing, NOTHING!!! they just show that they were known by the comunity... or it means they made a bomb survival in five minutes made a cradboard cut out of justin bieber and had 1879 little kids play it and heart... you get the general idea right? ive seen very good creators give up for things like this, dont be discouraged, real creators will allways shine when the time is right!

EDIT : Lol at guys who don't read rules
I guess what they mean by MUST NOT BE PLAYABLE ALONE is they want a game based on multiplayer (such as the coop zones in the story levels).
Versus ? Blah, not for me. I made you a 100% teamworking level. In fact, if you start the game alone, you just can't play. Not because I made a logic that ejects the player, but because I had a great idea (hope no ones does the same hope no one does the same). I guess the fact that I make my own music, art and logic adds to the epicness.

To do list:
Creating art and solid stuff
Completing baddies AI
Finding a way to solve my homing missiles problem (crap, I'm doomed, even LBPC doesn't know how to help me, they just say "there is no problem". THERE IS A FREAKIN PROBLEM, TEST IT)
Creating baddies spawning system (will do last)
Creating menu and guide (will do just before the spawn system)
Publishing it (also needs title, description and icon)

LittleBigDave
07-16-2011, 11:17 PM
Judging question: How do you rule on a level that is set as a versus level, with players fighting each other but also being challenged by the level itself? Such a level could be attempted alone and might offer some engagement, but there's really no point because it's set up to be a versus level. For example the basketball mini game could be played solo for the fun of making shots. Is such a level an acceptable entry? If so, would the basketball level still be accepted if it added some rotating "shields" around the basket to occasionally block shots? (Such that a solo player might have more fun with it alone, even though the shields were still intended to enhance multiplayer games.)

(Apologies for adding yet another rules question after so many helpful clarifications from the judges above...just want to make sure I craft a valid entry.)

I have a question. I have been creating a co-op level, originally not intending to enter but i decide, what the heck. The thing is, i designed it so that the level itself, menus within the level and the gameplay mechanics change depending on whether you play alone or not. With two players in the level you cannot complete the level without each other, but if you are in the level alone you can complete it by yourself. Would this be accepted?

I really wish I could enter one of my levels that I made before. Cause it is probably my best level ever, its is called The Thripod, but I am not entering it, so please don't disqualify me, PLEASE. anyway, Ihave a question, when are these monthly contests gonna end? Who else here is scared about jellyfish? I sure am, but who knows, they could pick a completely different level that was unexpected, like they did with the no-floor platformer last contest. I hope I get at least to the top ten levels. Oh, sorry this is a very long message but I have another question. Will you guys email us if we get to like the top ten, or will you just post it here? Ok, that's all I need to know, sorry if I used way to much commas, it's just what I do sometimes. Ok, bye for now! :)

I've seen few posts about 'scared' of littlebigjellyjellyfish's lvl. Well i am happy to see such amazing levels in the contest. i entered to see, how much must i improve my skills to reach the finals. i create the best entry i can think of. but i already know, that i won't be winning. But that's exactly why i enter this, i wish to rank my level against all other amazing creators, who makes them. Entering, with high hope, to be able to become a better creator. I will keep entering these contests. Not for crown, but for playing, creating and sharing. :D
Hope to see even more amazing levels from this great community. :p

Hello again, world. To all who spoke those words of inspiration, thank you. Without those words, I would've dropped out. I will say a little more about my level every day, leading to it's publishing. Here's todays:

The name of my level will be caled "Test Subject (LBPC2)"

Thanks again to Shropshirelass for checking with the team on my entry's eligibility. I appreciate your understanding of my early, unfinished, locked, pre-publish.

Anyway, here is my entry: Hide 'N Seek in the Library (http://lbp.me/v/14myxs).

I've done everything I could think of to improve on hide and seek systems I've seen, hopefully you all will enjoy the fruits of my intensive labor :) I recommend you play with the rainy weather option for that nostalgic rainy-day-games vibe, but there are other options if that isn't your thing.

Iv hurd if you get a Mm pick that you get a crown so it look's like the creater of the jellyfish level has a Mm pick so i don't see how some one could when the contest if they all ready have a crown?

Im not worryed about it i played her level and loved it!!:D

You heard wrong. Mm Pick and the prize crown are separate things.

And of course it's silly to worry about this one good level. What you're seeing now is levels that took half a month to create. Near the end of the month, when the levels (like mine (if I make the deadline)) come out that took a whole month to create , then you should start worrying! ;)

Hello everyone! I published my level yesterday and thought I posted my entry but it seems as though I did not!
Haha, well anyway here it is: http://lbp.me/v/3f6vsh

It's a cute capture the flag level, took a very long time to complete. I originally made this without the contest in mind, however I noticed a contest was up and I realized it met the requirements so I figured well why not, right? :P I do hope everyone enjoys the level as it was very fun to create! Good luck everyone!

Ok i didin't no lol some one tolled me on the littlebigplanet.com forums.. oh well at least i no if i ever was to be a mm pick id not get a crown lol.

Lol even tho a level may tack a month to make it may still look like the one she he made i realy like her work and if i wast the judge i would vote for that level cose it is very good!!

Some times tho it don't tack a month to make a level, some times a week or 2 mabe 3 just depends on what type of level maker you are:D

As for my level for this contest it took me a week it's a mini game iv been editing it all day i think im happy with it now yaay:)

I'm currently working on an entry, doing my best to finish it within the remaining time. I probably didn't make it easier by choosing to make a full length level :p

if i read this i feel disgusted. Not because you are an epic creator. only because i dont like this art of "i build better and bigger as you all!"
everybody wants to earn a crown.. some people got the time now. some after a view days or after this contest.
you cant score level after the time where there build dude.
and i know some of the the levels now are very good. even for you epic ideas and biggest logic skills ultima creator ;)

How in the world do you enter a picture of your level from the lbp2blog sig?!

Lol why is everyone so scared of LBJ? Its so beautiful but not so much "mayhemish" I woundnt be surprised if it were Mm picked but would be if it won this. Oh man I forgot to request if mine could be played 4 player or 2 on 2s*? Is pretty intense and fun that way.. And teamwork... Also I read that the entries CAN NOT be completed solo or it would be disqualified... Mine can but u wont have a score.. Its a timed vs so completion is inevitible regardless of players... This is ok right? ....Hello?

*Cheese7710*:royalty:

Hey man, people doesn't live in the chat, so have a bit of patience. è___é
Asking 3 times in less than a day is a bit much, innit?
You can use level links, though we encourage to not use them.

MMpick=Crown=Lie
Anyway, any crowned creator can enter the contest, if he should win, the crown will go to the runner up.

Contest will be held monthly until the Crew lives :p

i noticed luck ray say they picked a winner and such to the orriginal... did i miss it? where was it announced, im pretty sure there isn't a winner yet (unless i missed it) im going to look for it on the threads...

There's a start date and a deadline on the contest rules, is it possible that no one goes there to check?
The contest is not closed yet, still 12 days to go.
No level has been played and thus they have not even been judged.
So, unless you hear something official from someone of the crew, don't trust anything.
And refer to the rules.
Thanks

Sweeeeet!! I'm an ultima creator! ;)

I'll assume you were joking, but just in case you weren't: Of course time spent on creating a level isn't the deciding factor in quality, but I do think spending more time testing and tweaking and polishing helps. Just a tip.

And I was just talking big as a joke, like wrestlers do before a match. I really don't expect to win, I'm even hurting my chances even more by posting a LBP1 level. I'm just using the contest to motivate myself into finally finishing something.

well i suppose time isnt the only factor, but you can easily tell the difference between a level that took an hour and one that took a month... just saying.

Well finally, sorry this is my second time giving a link. But i had to delete and republish due to some issues. And now its only 2-4 player.

If you're playing alone, there comes a fun 'error' on the screen. :D

Not Really.. Play mine and tell me how long you think it took XD and I didnt skimp on any details... I really entered to try and get plays on both my V3 levels and was on cool pages for like 2 days :/ ...Even though Royalty would be awesome.. it wouldnt help you get plays.. And Im just exited that people from LBPC will finally see my concept since now they have to. ;)
