Does anyone think this will work?

I wanted a glider, and i decided a good way to get it moving fast is to stick in on a skateboard like in the amazon lbp trailer where they had that guy on a skateboard and he disconnects in mid air

Hmm, not sure if things like this work, but you could add thrusters to the bottom of the glider and tweak them for mid-air buoyancy. Then all you have to do is have them activate when the glider separates from the skateboard via a pair of proximity chips.

Probably wouldn't work, unless you go with Cartmans idea..There needs to be air to glide, and I doubt they've put in air if they can't get liquids..

if there was no air how would the balloons work?

Lul. Simple RL question - If you fill a balloon with air, does it rise?

They can script the balloons to rise.

If you fill a balloon with air, it'll just fall slowly. Fill it with helium, it glides. Wonder if you can make a parachute too?

I know... make the glider weigh a bit more then what the ballon can lift... this way you make it seem like you ar glideing when actuslly its a slowed fall... you kno what i mean? im sure someone said it already

you could make the strings for the baloons long enough to be far off screen too to aid the illusion that it is sort of flying

I say, good idea! It would be cool to have an entire air level based around these ideas.

keep the ballon attached to the front of the glider... then attach a string to the back that is slightly longer so that it seems like your actually flying at a realistic angle...

holey moley! thats ana amazing idea! i wish i'd thought of it before... it looks really simple but easy to do! does anybody know if there is air physics? like will wings do anything? or will it fall just as if it had no wings?

this is a really cool idea. and if there is no air physics, then you could use the switch that was talked about in our interview where if a sackperson gets near it, it's activated, so have the switch at the end of the ramp, and as soon as you jump, the thrusters engage!

i think i hate you for wanting to get this game even more now lol:p

Do we know if there will be tools like this we can use in game? Like the thrusters. That would be nice if there were. Or even more importantly, proximity chips. If there are proximity chips then that can make for some amazing creations, but I just wasn't sure there were going to be items like this in LBP.

awesome idea to have it shoot off like a paper plane
also if you can't have it actually glide or fly couldn't you attach string or chain to the plain and the ceiling to make the illusion of flight or gliding and the string raises it or lowers its either by the settings you put or by the a lever perhaps you pull one way it rises you pull the other it lowers you leave it in the middle it stays at the height it is at.

edit: darkshadow when they said gas i believe they meant the poisonous gas
