View Full Version : Disappearing Objects & Score Multipliers

Someone asked me today: How do you guys let materials that are not dissolve disappear? So first before I start talking about the Score Multipliers, I'm gonna show you how to make normal material objects disappear. Before we start, we will need an object. It can be an orange or a piece of grabbable material. In this tutorial I will use the orange.

Okay. First off, put a piece of cardboard and connect it with the orange using a rod. Make sure the rod is set to invisible.

Then attach an unprotected brain to the piece of cardboard and a grab switch to the orange. Make sure the switch is set to one shot and invisible. Attach it with the unprotected creature brain.

Now save the level and change to Play Mode. Now you just go and grab the orange. It will disappear, together with the piece of cardboard. Thatís it! Now you can make normal objects disappear! You can do this with any type of material, not only grabbable (you will need to use a sensor switch instead of the garbing switch). Make sure to keep the cardboard in a place that the player canít see or this will have no sense.

Now we can start with the Score Multipliers! Those things are useful when you want to add some secrets into your level. The first thing we gonna need is a grabbable object. This time I will use a lemon (ingenious! 0_0). This trick operates on the principle of the disappearing objects glitch. So you have to put a lemon and (this time!) 2 pieces of cardboard. Now attach them with rods, switches and brains, just like I did on the picture. Use the same settings as in the first part of the tutorial. This time we will need more creature brains. I will use 6 of them.

Now when you save the level and change to Play Mode - grab the lemon. You will get a score combo of x2 and 600 points. Thatís the big secret how this all works!

OR if you don't want to give the player points (Which is a VERY evil thing to do. :3)
You can just drop a microbomb on the brain to pop it.

Attach a sensor switch that activates a bomb emmiter once your object dissappears? That would be noobish, off-topic AND evil at the same time. c:
