Yes, you too can walk on water. I've been randomly posting about playing with paintballs to simulate water among other things, and like anything else involving paintball emitters, it's very taxing on the thermometer. So I made a mini-game level called "Fountain of Youth" using what I learned today.

If you set an emitter to emit a decent sized paintball, onto a flat base with no linear or angular velocity at .1 frequency, 95 at a time, and infinite lifetime it will act as a stationary platform and spread out ever-so-slightly to the left and the right. If they're chained together symmetrically, at a close enough spacing they will link together to form a longer platform.

The base in my level is not stationary. It's not glued, so the vibration and impact of the paintballs causes the ground to jump, along with the other paintballs, but like I said - if you make your base stationary it will act as a platform; perfect for standing and walking.

It's obviously too taxing an effect to make a full level with, but it's still nice to know and could make for a nice extra touch in some levels, or for certain segments.

I accidentally discovered a paint powered vehicle in the process as well - the high velocity paintball stream started pushing it's base everytime they hit the walls of the unglued fountain (early in the build process) and it would slide along like it had wheels and a rocket.

thanks for the information, good job. Does it really lag the level? Because having at least one would be cool.
