Introducing the Frapeture Science Testing Centre's (FSTC) latest creation:

The Speedo Shoes

Kept inside the safety of our Lo-Gravity Containment Bubbles (LGCB, seriously, we're trying to fetch for good abreviations...), these shoes allow regular sackpeople to run very fast with the assistance of Rocket Velocity, in a portable size too.
Those under the effect of these shoes, regularly temporary depending on it's setting in the Tweak Menu, will follow regular physics concerning regular fast-moving objects, in other words, a sack person can do loops and such.
Sackpeople can still move freely, they can jump and change direction, but controlling may be a problem to novices.
A special object comes with this, this is basically something, shape undecided, that disables the shoes upon crossing, disallowing you to pass, if you're in the mood for that kind of thing. Namely, the Anti-Speedo Trigger Area (ASTA, we're getting there...)

This idea seems quite pointless, but you never know.

FSTC once again presents a discovery made during a special, and somewhat accidental, experiment. The Cloth Radiator.

Quite alot of objects, mainly certain electrical mechanics bearing Radio Buttons & Switches and even brains from afar, are quite vincible and fertile to Radioations given off by this machine.
This radiation can pass off onto sackpeople without affecting their genetics or health, however, like our previous works, the effect may or may not be temporary, depending on how the intensity (Or time according to the Tweak Menu) is set. There are also Anti-Radiation hazards which deny the effect and cancel it early.
In short however, you basically become "A walking Key"

Maybe It would be a better Idea to make 1 thread dedicated to character enchancements, rather then one for each idea :p
You can always PM a mod to ask to merge the other topic with this one.

You can't delete threads unless you're an elite user/mod, thought elite users can only delete their own threads.

Anyways, it seems like a pretty good idea, but not really top priority. I'd like to see things like magnets and water first.

I put the Speedo Shoe Idea first, I find that more versatile and..

It wouldn't be impossible to become somewhat of a "walking key" without using a character enhancement. Just use a couple of key switches...

Oh.
I don't see how it would work in the same manner however, being able to move between layer to layer easily...
FYI, changed Topic name and put speedo shoes in this one.
Can't delete the original Speedo Shoes topic though.

anyway, Double Jump Jet sounds cool.
At the second jump they could spin around and leave fancy flame marks behind them!

FSTC once again puts up an intresting example for display.

This enhancement is a large bootleg dropdown from the jetpack, so it's not exactly flight-enabled, it is however away from it's tether roots for obvious reasons.
The Double Jump Jet is a one time use(?, depending on opinions) enhancement upon picking it up, pressing jump again in midair will allow you to burst all the fuel out of the DJJ's intresting Flame-Incuding Chemical Liquid (FICL) Container, resulting in a neat show, and an extended vertical reach.
It is possible to chain DJJs, if you get my meaning.

The double jet option is an interesting idea and could lead to some different platforming elements. The challenge would be not to make it game breaking or just a sign of a lazy developer, but that's a problem with all enhancements.

I am sure though good level developers could put it to good use, like having some challenge done and the power up appears or it appears after a sticker switch to change the replay value of the level. It's a good idea as a whole. :)

I like your drawings by the way. Very... artistic. :D

If they come out with a pack for the release of Bioshock 2... Plasmids.

Like shooting fire and electricity out of your hands, using telekenesis, and possibly one where you can take control of an enemy brain, just like you can control the Big Daddies in the game.

In ut2k4 there are jump boots too, It just makes you jump very high.

Man......... argh... I really want some kind of jump boots, or at least a really cool character enhancement!!

Or super wall jumping skillz :hero:

another i thought of is somthing called

Shield Basher

2 shield come around you and anything that touches them for an limited amount of time automatically disenigrates,

EVERYTHING except the floor beneath you.
it can burn through solid steel wall even!

On the radioactive idea, it would be cool if, like magnetic keys/switches, there were different colours of RADs (too much Fallout3, I know) for different doors etc.

How's about fire, electric, and gas shields? They make you immune the respective elements for a short time.

Nice ideas so far, let me throw one in. :idea:

Ghost powerup
-makes you transparent,
-makes you go through selected materials
-puts a big blanket on you
-makes you hover
-and other cool, ghostly stuff.

- Anti-gravity shoes. Switches the polarity of gravity for the player to allow him to walk on the ceiling.

- Grappling Hook. It's a grappling hook. You aim, you climb up.

- Diamond Bubble. Turns Sackboy into diamond for a short amount of time. He is invunerable to all lethal objects.

Double jump would be my favorite. It is nice and simple and at the same time can completely change game play.

A Mega Man X dash or wall climb would also be awesome.

The speedy shoes are a rubbish idea :) ^_^

Radiation idea is great!
Could make some good timed strategic situations
But I think it'd prove better as a danger, as in you can only come so close to it without dying?
They already have:

Touch and die (lightning)
Touch twice in close proximity and die (fire)
... err.. "go in and die" i guess (gas)
[future] stay on for too long and die (ice)

So why not have a "get to close to and die?" :)
It'd be like gas but less tacky :)
