Time to backup my LBPV save now that story stuff is 100%. I used the Content Manager to backup the LBPV application to my PS3. So Vita games don't differentiate between save data and the application? This means if I get LBPV from PSN the backup is a gig vs. 100 mb? Not a big deal...but this Content Manager app is pretty horrible/slow.

Well based on the topic name I would have another question.... is there some way to migrate all my data from digital to boxed copy?
I mean I received the game by redeem code in advance. It was awesome. But to save some space and support developers I have a itch to buy the game in the shop. But of course only if I will not loose any game progress?
Did anybody ever tried something like this? Considering the digital and boxed copy is installing different amount of data, Im afraid that backup may not be compatible between the versions :-/

Good question. Doesn't seem like progress!?!

Just in case anyone cares, I can now confirm that the save file from the physical version is compatible with the digital one. :)

I had a physical copy and today when I got the digital copy none of my save data transferred over... Do I have start over again or is there a way to upload my saved data from my physical game play to my new digital copy?

I dont understand how to do this. I have content manager installed on my pc, and I connect my vita to the pc using a usb cable....and then what?

You should be able to back it up on your PS3. Join the two with a USB and then go to content manager on your Vita. It gives you two options: Vita to PS3 and PS3 to Vita.

You also start Content Manager on the Vita and choose Vita to PC. You then go to the applications list and choose LBPV...this will backup the save data for the physical version and app+save data for the digital version.

This is how it worked using the PS3 anyway, haven't actually tried backing up to a PC.

I tried that and it tells me there are no applications to transfer

Hmmm...no idea. When connected to the PS3 it listed every Vita game I have.

Are you using the exact same PSN account on your Vita as your PS3? If not then try making another account on the PS3 that matches your Vita account.

I used the content manager once on my ps3 but I couldn't find any save files for my games.I just chose backup and I had no idea what I was backing up. What ever happened to just choosing a save for for a specific game and either copying or deleting it? It used to be so simple and sony never explained how the save system works on the vita or the ps3 before release. I thought the memory cards would be simple to use and backing up a save file in lbp2 would work the same as the ps3 versions (which I only learned on this site after buying a new ps3 and losing everything on lbp2).

What if you don't have a ps3 or computer (unlikely but possible)? Also is anyone using a different usb cable or the same one that connects to the plug?

Do you have a mac or a windows pc? Might be important. Also, if you haven't yet, I recommend just clicking your way around without doing anything to understand the layout of the application manager a bit more.

If its like LBP2 you will need to actually backup your profile in game before you are able to transfer the data to another device.

I haven't tried backing up my profile onto the PS3 or computer yet but have backed up the profile from in game to the vita.

Yes, you have to make a backup first on the same system before you can back it up to another

Load content manager. Pickup your vita (while it's plugged in) and the content manager icon should be bouncing. Open that application. It should now recognize your PC. Options are available on your vita to data transfer.

Question: Does anyone know if I can transfer my saves, costumes, dlc, and profile from LBP2 (Disc) to LBP2 (Digital). I got the digital version for free recently via PS Plus and wouldn't mind not having to switch discs so often.

I went from disk to digital for exactly the same reason as you. Just load up your disk version and back up your profile while in your pod. Then after that start up the digital version and import the data. I think you might loose progress on some of your pins like the amount of time in create mode.
However you will keep all your saves, game progress, moon levels, DLC

You don't even need to do that; just launch the digital version and it will use the existing profile.

It's not like LBP2...there is no in-game option to backup your profile (or levels for that matter). Wouldn't be a point since the Vita presents the application and it's data as a single blob to the user.

I haven't tried backing up my profile onto the PS3 or computer yet but have backed up the profile from in game to the vita.

You are saying you backed up your LBP2 profile to your Vita? It's very confusing to jump into a Vita thread and start talking about LBP2...those of you that want to talk about LBP2...please make another topic in the LBP2 section! Thanks.
