View Full Version : A way to escape from a race blocked from finishing by a stuck AI

If an AI gets stuck, the race never completes, and no control will return you to the pod. The only way out is to quit the game. This is compounded by the fact that you're also locked out of taking a photo while spectating the offending AI, so you can't help the level creator to fix the bug. It would be better if quitting the level and taking a photo were available at all times.

If an AI get stuck but someone crosses the finish line a countdown will start stating the race will finish in x amountof seconds. As long as someone, AI or Player crosses the finish everything works fine.

I've actually just recently had this issue happen with me. The problem is that sometimes AI that is still trying to complete the race ends up respawning in areas where those who have completed the race would respawn during a victory lap. Sometimes that is before the finish line. Other times it is somewhere random in the track.

Example - In To Clive, With Love players who complete the race and crash during their victory lap will respawn in the compactor area of the track. Sometimes even AI attempting to complete the race will respawn there no matter where they are. This makes waiting for them take forever since the game is treating the still-racing AI like they're on a victory lap. If the player crosses the finish line while playing by himself/herself online, there is a chance the countdown won't happen. The game automatically ends if you're racing alone offline, as Arastoph stated.

I think this is just a problem of victory lap respawns being wonky. They should be fixed to behave like a regular race. It's also an issue of the game sometimes not understanding when you are playing online by yourself. The race should automatically end the moment all human racers cross the finish line online.
