View Full Version : Your LittleBigPlanet Marketing Ideas

Hey all,

It's obvious that we all love LittleBigPlanet, see the awesome potential in it, and want it to obviously do well. So what are your ideas for Media Molecule and for Sony to market this game?

I say for launch, show a Halloween level with pumpkin heads, sack ghosts, sack witches.... Go with what people are thinking about at the time (Will be like 10 days away from Halloween when it's released. )

The next huge season will be Christmas, and if they are smart, they will market it to death again. This time? Sack Santa, Sack elves, Christmas Level with snow, bright lights, Christmas trees, with some sort of Christmas music in the background. Maybe going down a Chimney... :p

With the amazing customization of this game, with the amazing emotions that can be shown, with the easy nature of acting things out, Sony should really hit the seasons hard and act things out in the commercials that way I think. And then release a Christmas pack, a Halloween Pack, an Easter Bunny Pack, maybe a St Patricks day pack.

Well, that's it. What are your ideas for marketing this game? What should Sony and Media Molecule do?

ooh! ive got an idea how about a Fourth of July Pack with working fireworks that can be shot off and you can hold on to them and fly into the air!! and just create cool effects!! oh and holdable everlasting sparklers!!!

I also think if say a huge Sony owned movie is coming out, they should have custom sackboys to make say Spiderman or whatever.

Honestly I'd love to see them appeal to the hardcore gamers out there that stick only to First Person Shooters. They touched on that in their Killzone advertisement but I think it would be cool to see a classic, memorable FPS level remade in LittleBigPlanet.

OMG LittleBigDaddy that is perfect! and that would be awesome i would get someone to dress as a little sister too lol

Littlebigsister? lol

You can pretty much make anything LBPish by adding the suffix Littlebig- to the word. Ex. LittlebigOlympics, Littlebigpresident, Littlebigworld, etc...

They should use that in their advertisments.

The whole level will be a custom themed commercial, like at the e3 conference

Definatly release themed levels like you said. And at every major exclusive PS3 game launch - also launch a LBP level with direct influence from the said game. Have it as a free download.

I heard somewhere that MM and Sony still have a publically available demo planned before release.

(of course, one of my friends is in the Gears of War 2 beta, so he'll be able to get me back)

LBP will be very hard to market. Unless you know what the game is, it's really hard to explain why it looks so awesome. The best chance they have is to appeal to casual gamers, but if they appeal to the hardcore the way Cartman suggested, it'd be hilarious. Use a Snake sackboy, a Big Daddy sackboy, the Killzone sackboy, heck, even throw in the Joker sackboy in a different commercial.

MM are British, 4th of July would be unlikely.

Around Christmas, they should make a level that has 30 or so "exclusive" presents because you will only be able to go play once. Maybe depending on your time to complete the level decides what present you get.

4th of july is the day we declared independence... not kicked their *****...
september 3... thats the day the war was officially declared over...
and again in on febuary 16th... (war of 1812 officially over)
