In the create mode, I noticed the removed bolts, wobble bolts, spring bolts, motor bolts, strings, and rods. To be honest I am a little disappointed, especially since they made them decorations. One of the big reasons I wanted LBPK was because of using physics in a 3D space. I was panning on making Sumotori Dreams and Toribash in the game, but without bolts or strings, its impossible. I tried making my custom joints, but the two objects would always glitch out of each other. Please add the bolts and rods again. Thanks for reading. =3

I'm 100% with you on this. I really miss tools like those, but have you messed with the rotating motor and piston? I admit that I don't like either nearly as much as their LBP2 counterpart, but you may be able to achieve some of the things you want to do with those. They are limiting in LBPK because I believe that they may be impossible to use in tandem, or perhaps I just haven't figured out how to do it yet.

Me too - I'm struggling to attach a light beam to a ball so that when the ball rolls and bounces the light beam stays vertically oriented, can't figure it out! A simple bolt would have been great.

hey all it took me AGES to figure this out making lots of moving parts but i finally realised you can pin each hinge/motor/piston to the next one which makes everything incredibly simple actually.

i never played any other games in the series before but after figuring that i can attach a piston pin to a rotate motor my universe expanded!

for a nice example of this without me having to sit and make another cool object you can win one by starring my battle level https://karting.lbp.me/v/6dvh

hope this helps! it made things amazingly simple for me

Amen. At least in my opinion, I find the new motors really hard to use and I would really prefer it if I could have the old bolts, strings and rods that we had in every single previous LBP game because this is what most creators are going to be used to. It is possible for the current motors in the game to replace some of the tools that we had in LBP2 but some cannot be replicated with what we currently have. I'd like to see a return of these useful tools :) .

Well...here's hoping for a DLC creator kit, i guess...i wonder if there's a reason those things were left out, though.

Asking why bolts, strings and rods were left out in LBPK is like asking why water was left out in LBP1 and was brought back as a paid DLC pack.

Yeah but it would be pretty stupid taking away something in a game, then asking people to pay for it.

Ugh. Let me clarify this again. LBP Karting is built by UFG, the makers of Modnation Racers, so it's most likely built on the MNR game engine. This means everything from LBP has been built from scratch. They haven't taken away bolts, strings or rods or any other LBP tool, they merely haven't written any code to implement them in Karting. Whether they thought we wouldn't need them, didn't have the time to implement them, or tried but had too much problems fitting it into the MNR engine, we can only guess.

I do understand that it is hard re-making a game from scratch, but when I say "removed" I mean taken away from the LBP game. Bolts and strings have always been in LBP and my personal problem with it is that I cant make ragdolls anymore. I can see some people using them though for interesting level ideas too. I don't know, I just had greater expectations for the 3D create mode. =/

I had greater expectations for LBPK too; was expecting it to be more like the previous games, except you are in karts and it's 3D. But it was UFG's first time making a LBP game so we have to give them some allowances. I still do think that Mm should have tried to make LBPK themselves, it might have turned out to be better in general terms and in create mode.
