View Full Version : Invisible, non-colliding material?

Hey, can anyone tell me what Karting material has the same properties as LBP2 hologram or sticker material?

Since you can only place logic on material or objects, not tracks, fences or terrain, I want a material that is invisible (Karting hologram does not go invisible, just black) and non-colliding (that rules out force field material) that I can place for logic.

Any suggestions?

Cheers!

I had the same question. I've been through the main types of material and can't find something that does what you want. What i've used so far is forcefield - but flattened to the ground or sides so it doesnt get in the way of anything. I'd be interested to see if anyone else has any alternatives.

Attach a piston to forcefield set it to scenic. It'll now be invisible and have no physics.

Really? Sounds complicated for what is basically a simple feature. I'll give it a go though, thanks.

I do think it's odd that we don't have invisible holograms, and I don't really like that. But at the same time we don't really need them for the same use as we do in LBP2. Though I swear I was looking for some of that for a reason... I forget though.

I usually place my logic inside something if it's an AoE, or on something and enlarge it if it's one for many (like a lap/player sensor with lots of outputs).

I'm curious as to why you would need what you're looking for. But I'm also really tired.

I want something like this with sensors attached so I can place it above a track or in space somewhere without having a visible object there. I might also want to emit something from high up without having an object visible.

Just use the force field, and make it very thin and put all of your logic on it.

Thanks, it is an option. Still no option for a material players actually pass through that has logic attached. Perhaps something will come in an update...

Well I made a tutorial about this:

^After you follow the rules, just add your logic on the force field.

Thanks, I saw your other post too so will try this out. :)
