I have one question; does anybody know when the LBPV cross controller DLC is coming out? I haven't seen any news on it for months now.

Never.

The Cross-Controller DLC is for LBP2 and does not link LBPV and LBP2 in any way, so there won't be a LBPV Cross Controller pack.
You can however expect some news on the LBP2 DLC pack soon. :)

Don't take it so literal. I called it that because it is a cross controller pack and it uses the vita.

It should be released sometime today. I checked earlier and didn't find anything so hopefully soon. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/12/18/littlebigplanet-2-ps-vita-cross-controller-pack-out-today/

It's out now. I'm controlling LBP2 with my Vita as I type!

Well, I've now played through the story mode and it's officially very cool. It's like you have two levels to create per level, one for the Vita player, and one for the LBP2 players. Creating on the Vita is practically identical to creating on LBPV, right down to the interfaces. All the features except the memorizer made it over (including multiply and add, static and dynamic, touch tweakers, etc.) with a couple extra sensors to facilitate talking between the LBP2 and Vita levels.

There's a ton of potential there to do some really cool stuff. The first minigame showcases it perfectly.

there's also a ton of potential for frustration in create mode as I found out after my ps vita went into sleep mode.
