I love creating but am not very creative.. So I was hoping to find an experienced created that wouldn't mind helping me create a level.. Or someone to just post their creative process would be helpful.. From how u plan to actuall creating steps.. What goes first, second, etc.. If u wanna join up I'm suracidik17, always on vita, and work first shift est time.. Many thanks!!

There's a big distinction you have to make as to what kind of level you want to create. For example, you could try to create a platformer. Or if you are logically inclined (like myself), you can try to create different kinds of games. But what kind of game you want to make will make a big difference as to who you'd want helping out.

I'm not so good with dealing with the 3 layers of LBP, so when ever I try to make a platformer I feel like it feels odd.

Which is why I really prefer creating mini games.

Normally what I do is I come up with an idea. I'll think about it a day or two, get a basic idea of what I want to do, maybe an idea of how I might set up the logic, and then I start creating the basic systems of the level. I'll set up some logic, see if it works, if not I play with it untill it DOES work. Then I play it a bunch. Maybe ask others to play it. Think about what would make it more fun. Ask others what they think it needs. Then I revise it. Add some more in, maybe delete something. Try and finalize the art style for the level. Then I publish it for good.

I've only got to the "publish it for good" stage once though, hah, all my other levels are somewhere before that stage, either in creation or in idea stage.

But my one finish level DID get team picked, so I dunno. :)

Sry.. I forgot to put that in there.. Platformer!! Some mini games are fun but I prefer platformer levels.. I want to make a mm quality level, cause I'm a perfectionist, but everytime I try I don't get far cause it doesn't look right, or not what I was trying to do, etc.. And ive been trying since lbp 1 beta.. though vita is my favorite.. So I was thinking maybe I'm just going about it the wrong way.. I tried watching these "speedcreate" videos on YouTube but hasn't done me much good as its way to fast! Lol

Well if you make something, and publish it, I can try it out and give feed back. I'm good with feed back. :)

Well I appreciate that.. But no matter when I get it done it won't be published for a year.. The idea is a valentines day themed platformer, "cupid's factory of hearts" or somethin like that.. My plan is to propose to my girlfriend via sack boy at the end of level.. Gonna have the girlfriend play it v-day next year, after that publish for everyone else to play with her answer in the description.. So if ya want to play it when it's done we could join up and play it via create modes play mode.. Btw - havnt played ur level yet or the other one been busy, will play though and leave feedback..

Opinions - good idea / bad idea.?
And anyone know if this has been done before.. I like to be different and original.. Lol

Lol, sounds like a good idea, I guess.

I'm faaaaaaaaar from being the master of create mode, but this is my basic level creation process:

-Think of an idea. Basically a theme, and story (if you want one). But you already have an idea, so youre fine.

-Plan it out. Draw and/or write out how your level will look.

-Create it. Using create mode.

-Test it. LBPC is a great place to find testers, like Luke CF or myself.

-Publish it. Press the "publish" button.

-Promote it. You can go to all 4 major LBP forums to do this. LBPC is usually the only one you get any real feedback from, but the others provide a few plays at least.

And youre done! This is a really simple process discription, and LukeCF did a better one, but I dummed it down. I like things that are dummed down. Good luck on your level! :)

I tried drawing it.. But how do u draw 3 layers? Lol

Somebody should make an lbp blueprint app for iphone that allows u to draw on three papers and have a button to merge them together like projector sheets or somethin.. Lol
