A real character creator and better player integration with the sackbots. The character creator can still use the sackboy character model, but I would like to be able to adjust the proportions so I can make a fat sack or skinny sack instead of just making him big or small. I want a whole set of animations to choose from instead of being stuck using the dpad and sixxaxis animations. Give me the ability to have proper sword swinging animations and the ability to draw a sword from a sheath or shoot an arrow from a bow. Lets have some more nuanced facial expressions instead of the 1 2 3 happy, sad, angry, and scared animations we've had for years. Let me control eye movement and allow my character to do basic things like sitting and laying down.

I want to create characters that players start in without having to use a controlinator stuck to invisible material that follows a sackbot. Let my character spawn and use checkpoints just like a regular sackboy. Another thing I must have is the ability to stick certain material to the screen. Imagine if you could place down some sticker material and it just stays there as if it were stuck to your TV screen. This would allow you to create a proper HUD.

What do you guys want? And please no "I want a real PS4 LBP" posts. This is clearly a PS3 LBP that's also available on the PS4. It's a better LBP2 just like LBP2 is a better LBP1, so with that in mind, what additions/tweaks would you like to see? :)

Maybe a background editor. So instead of relying on the 3-D glitch, you can have layers in the background for visual purposes only (as a feature). You can even add animations (pistons, bolts, rotators, movers etc.) in the background objects. The only thing about the back layers is that your character can't go there.

LBP2's camera was good, but it was quirky. For me, I want proper camera controls. Exposure settings, a better depth of field, variable frame rates for possible slow motion or time lapse, proper color correction, more abilities with camera movements and possibly POV camera angles being anchored to an object and such.

I want to be able to make a movie in it with a lot more ease; it was a pain setting up different angles using different versions of sets in LBP2.

Here's another feature I would like to see in LBP3.

In the past LBP games where we had a sidescroller, we can only see from the front. I would like a feature where you can switch views so you can see from both the front and the back. You can add more detail that way when creating, and you can jump down from behind (still ahead, but from a different view.

Mostly basic stuff like more thermo and better performance. And of course all the things from the Vita that isn't in LBP2. But also:

More music sequencer...things (e.g. more (quality and quantity) instruments, possibly more advanced mixing features like EQ, different reverbs and effects, more time signatures, higher tempos, etc.

I really want some kinda "IF and THEN" logic gate if anyone knows what I mean...Also a tool that activates based on how powerful an analog signal outputs... along with math...gate...tools...things! :S

Tools dedicated solely for animations, materials and all!

It be nice if we could rotate objects 3 dimensionally so as to edit on all sides instead of having to do those silly camera tricks.

More shapes for the radius' off the tag sensors instead of just that annoying circle...squares, rectangles, ovals please...

Seamless transitions between different levels through level links. I'm thinking maybe if someone made a huge story-based RPG, it could allow you to load all the levels at once so you can quickly move between them or even have them load in the background.

It would be just genius for them to have a stylus and tablet bundled with the game. Please? :D

I'd like a more convenient way to reset camera angle rather than having to unhover then hover again.

It'd also be nice if they re-added a negative rating to make it easier to differentiate between good and bad levels.

The reason why the negative rating option got removed was because people have abused it in LBP2. Yeah, the boos can tell if a level is bad or not, but several users (notably trolls) used it as a tool of hate or a way to boost statistics in a hasty manner. A different rating system would work however. I thought of an idea where people can rate levels on a scale from 1 to 10. That would be a good idea.

Hmm I wish we can have user input with the keyboard. Like type something with the PS4 keyboard such as a "Enter name here" and then when you return it would be like welcome [name]! So like variables.

Also it would be nice to easily type things out with different fonts, kind of like the notes in LBPV! :D

I'd love some of the Vita features to be included.

Things like tweaking an object's place in a layer (from -20 to +20).
Or the static/not static option for all materials.
The dephysicaliser tool has been amazing and I'm still shocked it hasn't been added to LBP2.

So many things in all of my Vita levels just couldn't be created in LBP2 because of options like these. (a simple example is the water effect I use in my Druidia levels. Its 3 materials in the one layer, placed in different levels of the layer, and all dephysicalised to give the impression of sackboy falling into the water.)

After spending so much time with LBPVita, I am totally confident that X-Dev and Sumo Digital will deliver an amazing LBP experience.

- Sackboy/sackbot animations - fine tuned so that you can get detailed reactions to the events in game.
- microchip wire pathfinding - I really want this to be fixed.... well not fixed, just allowed for the fact that some of us build microchips with a stupid amount of wires on them... and the lag is depressing :P
- Auto-controllinator - Whilst it's a fairly simple affair to force sackboy into a controllinator at the moment, I'd love a tool which allows you to set a controllinator, say on a start gate, and make it the default setting for the level. No more need to create weird little hidden start points (hidden but on camera to ensure sackboy spawns) and dead control seats for extra observing players..... I'm rambling.
- Magic Mouth recordings - I freakin love voice acting in levels, and the audio compression for recorded voice just distorts everything so much that it often becomes impossible to understand. I'd love to see improvement on this.
- Better lighting / sfx - I rarely play with the global lighting features on LBP2 as they're all just a bit too.... out there for my liking. I'd prefer a wider range of more subtle, realistic lighting effects - sunset, sunrise, dawn, hot smokin desert, icy cold ... icy place, etc - so the lighting colours isn't ASTOUNDINGLY and shockingly ott, but the cool / hot settings are far more gradual and tweakable. Maybe even a colour wheel selector where we can fine tune it to our own liking, instead of any presets?
- Better music sequencer - As many have said, I'd also love to see some extra features added to this gem.

I'm sure there'll be more as it comes to me...

My preference would be to force the player to pick an option. So after a level, it could ask you "Did you like this level?", then have the options of "Yes" and "No". If they pick yes, you get a smiley face, if they pick no, you get no smiley face, but no boo face either.

Not just more features, but some of the instruments need need improving, for example, both of the strings instruments just sound awful. I'd like to make some nice ochestral music, but it's hard to do that when the strings instruments sound so bad!

LBP1 forced the player to rate the level. And the vast majority of players simply chose the default rating of 3/5 stars on every level (spamming the X button as soon as they returned to the pod), so the ratings were useless.

Well the way around this is to not have a default option. You have to press left then X if you like the level, or right then X if you don't like it. Force the player to have an opinion. It'll do them good!

According to my rating system suggestion, you can rate it a 0 out of 10 to show that you are completely neutral of the level. 0's don't count to score, but 1's do.

@Ali_Star: I like your idea too.

Anyway, I made a total of three suggestions:

1. Background editor
2. Back view
3. 1 to 10 rating system

I would like more instruments and better drums. I'm best known for making music sequences. I hope the lbp2 moon is transferred into the new game. I haven't been able to play lbp2 since last September when my ps3 died. I have a lot of unfinished and complete songs I didn't get to put in a giant jukebox I was making. I'm assuming the touch pad will be a control in lbp3 because there haven't been a lot of games that use it properly. Since I started using vita, I've become a logic master because of the touch feature.

Most of all, I would like water to be an object, not just a setting.

Also, I would like to see a screen material and an ability to record the movies you make using the cameras. That way, you can display recorded sequences with the screen, and be able to loop or offset the time or add tints. It definitely would be a lot easier than using holograms or sticker panel materials with logic to get similar effects, and also displaying recorded movies could be used to display any number of things, such as a fake news broadcast on a TV.

Additionally, I concur with having adjustable animations for the characters. Perhaps a puppet animation tweak? And also a 3D rotation on the X and Y-axis. It just makes sense to have it.

FLOATING BLOCKS OF WATER

Seriously, its the easiest thing to implement.
It's literally just a shape Sack can go through and it triggers his "swimming" mode.

Smaller objects would float to the top of it or fall through it. But like gas, nothing affects the water itself.

You could still attach logic to it and it could still be affected by gravity.

It would behave just like the floating water blocks in Mario Galaxy or 3D World.

Maybe even decide its "viscosity" along with the color and transparency. So you can have "sludge pits" or slime etc.

Where the stuff inside it would slow down.

Or you can have it completely transparent and make it seem like Sack is floating in space.

(... well, I saw one of the trailers having Sack float in space, so who knows if they did something like that for LBP3.)

A Global Material Replacer tool.

Sort of like a fill-bucket in photoshop. You select a material you want, and click on a different material in the level, and all instances of that material are replaced.

I ask for this because often time creating a level, I'll get done or mostly done, and start running out of thermo. I know I can reduce thermo by eliminating certain materials that aren't needed, like maybe I have four different cardboard styles in use, and only need one. Instead of hunting through the level trying to find and fill every instance of the material I want to replace, this tool will find them all FOR you. Don't like that one Chrome style and want to switch it all out with a Rusty Metal? One click and it's done.

I actually wouldn't mind hearing two different narrators for tutorials. Some tutorials would feature Stephen Fry, other certain topics could have, perhaps Stephen Merchant. Change it up. But perhaps being consistent would be better. I dunno. (Stephen Fry is great, don't get me wrong!)

I think this is a great idea, it allows you to change and mod the appearance of the level in one fell swoop. And I know the annoyance of hunting down a certain material I used in a level just to get a rid of it. I wished that I could go to the popit and square-click on the material and select something (Like "Show Me Where!") to have it show me where it's being used in the level (by zooming the camera to the area, with limits of course). That idea would work with stickers, decorations, and the like, too.

...Game, you know where I'm using the material, I don't! :p

Finally, what I would want is to be able to sort through the popit easier. A search function would be highly awesome.

(Also, it's funny that a while back I wanted a feature for something that allowed Sackboy to turn around (with his back to us) so he could look at something. It's something you can do when you're stickering Sackboy.
Buuut, looks like that's a feature in the game now!)

I want 3 major things to be implemented, that without any of them individually would be like a blow to the chest (and one extra one that isn't very necessary, but could help in some cases)

1) In game material editing
Like changing what the material is in game (you guys already said that, spot on with your comments), or changing size/shape, or even make it split into smaller shapes, like a shape tween (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A1LdyNzg1Qc/USs2H6nMewI/AAAAAAAAALQ/n6AioIrRbR4/s320/Flash+Animation+Shape+Tween.gif) of some sort

2) Import/export capabilities
So you can put in/take out music and pictures

3) Something to cater to the logic community
Like modifiable clocks, or things with more modifications (adjustability and sorts)

4(?))
This one is sort of weird, but maybe having some direct software access, like sound levels, so people could make equalizers, and vary logic based off of music, or maybe recieve data from the clock so emmiters can be slowed down to make lag less extreme in laggy levels (maybe?)

The one thing in specific I want to see is the one thing in LBPKarting that never saw daylight in the other games: HUD tweaker (in Global Tweakers) and HUD display (in Global Settings). And not just the "Show HUD in Portrait View" option in LBPVita.

Think about it. Maybe you want the point display to show on the bottom-left instead. Maybe you want the button display for controlinators to display on the top instead. Maybe you want your own HUD wherever you want. Well, with this you can do that! The options for custom HUD will be simple (timers, counters, text, sticker display, variables, etc.), but will be placeable with the display and tweakable with the tweaker. Additionally, you can use the tweaker to make completely new HUD at any time that can be controlled with tags and tag sensor. So if you want a health bar, a stamina bar, a player picture, etc. for a fighter game, you can easily do that!

I posted a pretty long list in a PS Forum a while back. Here it is:

>3D Creation
**3D mesh creation and manipulation (similar to that in Blender and Unity), as well as good design tools
**3D movement and camera (or at least the ability to turn the game camera so it functions like a 3D one)
**Animator that uses the motion of the controller to record specific movements (like reloading a gun in a FPS)

>Better Overall Design Tools
**Add ability to create custom textures/materials/stickers easily and in-depth, & keep selling professional materials on store
**Ability to create 3D meshes (objects) for both 2D and 3D levels
**Add a new 'light' material that combines with itself when it touches another piece (useful for paint levels)
**Add HUD creation that can be independent between players, as well as other visual changes unique to each player
**Ability to use the paint tool without Move

>Improved Music Creation
**Ability to create music by clicking buttons on the controller (as if playing an instrument)
**Add a new place in the community where people can share custom music by itself

>Increase Max Players
**Up to 50 in levels that permit it
**Up to 8 in pod (increse pod size)

>Add a simple code language to LBP
**Would be stored inside a logic widget
**Wouldn't repace logic, but instead add ability to
***Do math
***Retrieve specific local data, like player name, # of times played, etc
***Make it easier to manage large player numbers
***Do super advanced logic more quickly and more efficiently
***Interact with the HUDs of each player

>Permit for saving text on the server for levels
**Server data accessed/saved through the newly introduced LBP code language
**More server space coud be bought on the PSStore
**Could be used for
***Saving various numerical amounts on the server for a player (like different scores/balances)
***Saving text data on the server for a player (like an in-level instant message system)
***Accessing data from a player who is not playing with you
***Creating an MMO

>More focus on 'Game Creation'
*Make the community be based around creating/playing/sharing free, awesome games
*Add better review system (like the 5-star system or an x/10 system)
*Make adding screenshots of the level to the info page easier
*Remove the level badge rings of versus/cinematic levels, and replace them with ones for 'Game', 'Film', 'Info', & 'Platformer'
*Add ability to resize and reposition level badge picture
*Improve level search system
*Add back the Cool Pages (trending levels) and provide more in-depth and live data
*Prevent copied levels or levels containing content from copied levels from getting on said Cool Pages
*When marketing, advertise the infinite number of free games people will get

>Less Creation Limits
*Dramatically increased level boundries
*Dramatically improved thermometer, especially with 3D game creation
*Increase max LBP3 levels published to at least 30, and make sublevels separate from that number
*Significantly improve level link stability, especially to sublevels (add ability to make a custom loading screen w/ music)

>Community Portal
*Place where links to the Cool Pages, MM Picks, Recent Activity, etc. can be found
*Where level ads purchased through LBPoints are found
*A lateral ticker that shows the most recently published levels
*Should be vibrant, pleasant to look at, comprehensive, and contain a lot of level pictures

>Add LittleBigPoint System
*People gain LBPoints by playing levels, writing highly-rated reviews, as well as player-to-player transactions
*Can be used to purchase level ads, buy DLC, sent to other players as gifts, etc.

>MISC
*Ability to create in the now larger pod
*Improve level loading speed
*Allow people to purchase more level spaces on their Earth from the store
*Allow the resizing of level badges, like with story levels
*Allow creators to list players who have contributed to the level in the level info

I've bolded the ideas that I think are really important at this point and shrank the ideas that have already been confirmed as 'not happening'.

Well, if I had to brainstorm off the spot, I have quite a few:

1. A feature where each player would have their own camera rather than sharing one in a non-versus level. This would allow shared score.

2. Sackbots that ACTUALLY survive in water. I'm sure that would be a blessing to those who would want an underwater level w/ sackbots.

3. World changers (ex. audio world tweakers, global world tweakers, etc.) that only activates to the player that activates it (kinda like what LBPK did). Why would this be useful? Here's an example: one player is in an open space, and another player is in a cave. It would become considerably darker and have echo-y sounds in the cave, while the audio at the open space would be normal and be brighter.

4. Race Sensors: these are essentially sensors that trigger a race without the Race Gate. Oh, and the same goes for a Race Finish Sensor.

5. Any light-based material or object to allow more than one color.

6. This one's kinda wishful thinking, but: Jumping through a level link will head to the next level straight away (no loading time).

7. That one "Dematerialize" tool from LBPV. Seriously, we NEED this in LBP3, because it's so freakin' useful. Additionally, a Dematerialize Sensor. Oh yeah, that's the ticket.

Ooh, this one will require an explanation, so please hear me out on this one.

8. A Gadget Bag. What this is is essentially a gadget that allows you to switch between different gadgets on the fly. Here are the features that would come with it:
-When you acquire the Gadget Bag, it has no function. However, if you pass by a different gadget (ex. Grappling Hook), you are able to use it as long as you have the Gadget Bag. If you acquire TWO or more gadgets (ex. Grappling Hook + Grabinator), you will be able to alternate between the two whenever you like.
-You will be able to tweak the Gadget Bag by placing gadgets inside of it before you pick it up. That means you can have a Gadget Bag with starting gadgets the second you pick it up.
-You can allow whether or not the Gadget Bag will pick up any new gadgets you come across.

I can see the Gadget Bag being utilized for many things. I think the types of levels that would benefit most from this, however, would be puzzle levels or fast-paced platforming. Regardless, this would be a breath of fresh air for the platforming genre.

Wow, I spilled out everything I had. Well, I'd like to know what you guys think. I'm especially curious as to what you think of my Gadget Bag idea.

Plus you could pretty much use score givers and whatnot to make your own race if you didn't know that.
But this reminds me, Id like to see some more functionality with score givers, they seem to malfunction relatively often in multiplayer/are a little difficult to deal with.

Personally I make mostly female characters for my levels and would really love to have far better looking female looking sack people options then we can currently make, Want stuff like LBP2 Eve character's body but more basic. Also If a unique character costume also comes with a head on the costume then please make the head a separate part ok? And in general I want many unique body shape parts like super skinny cartoon noodle limbs or legs that are more normal chibi shaped with tiny feet AKA less Megaman looking.

Allow us to draw in the LBP paint program AKA MOVE paint feature with the normal game controller. Making our own stickers is great but the Move controller isn't...

I agree wholeheartedly about the move paint. I can do it, but I rarely do because it's suuuuuch a pain.

I would like the music from LBP PSP to appear in LBP4.

Scratch that. All we need is this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKhyjtVuEzw) song. We don't need any other music. Not even the music sequencer. Just have this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKhyjtVuEzw) song play on an infinite loop.

I would like a setting where we can schedule when we want our levels to be published - like automatically. Say if I want to publish on friday, I set the timer to this day on this time and it will automatically upload my level onto my earth without me being there!

Well this would definitely solve my problem with me not publishing new levels because I don't think it's perfect.

I agree with a previous comment before, as well as water being a global setting, I want it also as a material, and there was something else I saw earlier today that was about the water material, when dropped into an enclosed area (with maybe a front and back layer as a cover) we should be able to pour water in and fill it up, this could probably be done with clever level editing, but It'd be nice to see swimming pools being a thing without the whole level being flooded.

Also, LBP PSP and LBP Vita songs should come to LBP3, it'd be nice, and would probably make me hunt for the PSP in my house and play it.

Yea a separate water system would be cool to where u can build a pool and fill it up instead of the whole map idk how that would work but it's possible

Well you could just have a water "material", just like all the other types of materials.

Hmm I feel my other post didn't get straight to the point enough, so I'm gonna fix that.

LBP3 costume part wish list:
#1: LBP2 Eve character feminine like legs.
#2: Super skinny cartoon female torso.
#3: No eyes option.
#4: No mouth option.
#5: Skinny cartoon noodle limbs.

Give me especially the #1 costume part from above and I'll personally be very happy and that would win me over enough to fully and truly wanting to get myself LBP3. *mew

I wonder if we can use the main PS4 camera in the game. Voice commands and player recognition (kinect based games). OMG!!

Make Sackbots able to swim please!

I am going to add a bit to hyperdudes suggestion and recommend the game needs a in game facebook-like friends list/social system. I am getting a lot of friends online for multiple games and I would like to just have friendlier news feed and the ability to have like 1000's of friends and connect with them instantly on the game(Not on PSN framework but built into the game.)We should also have the ability to publish videos on our "wall" or profiles.

On a side note, LBPC might get more users and participants if contest were announced in game. I am not sure if thats more a site recommendation or a "not gonna happen" recommendation.

I also think it should be possible to assign multiple authors to one level. I think team building can be powerful in LBP3, and we should be able to have everyones name next to the level names and an option for players to select the authors and view their profiles.

I too would love for there to be different Sackperson physiques, such as fat, skinny, curvy, and buff. It would also be pretty nice to have a "flee from tag" setting since sackbots already have "follow player", "follow tag", and "flee from player" settings. And of course Sackbots that can go underwater would be a plus.

I want complete control over ALL sound effects in the game such as the sound effects for collecting bubbles, speech bubbles (that swoosh sound drives me nuts) and checkpoints etc. And give me an option to stop the characters swaying when stood still, that is also starting to drive me nuts.

They really need to add particle emission like in LBP Karting, only with even more customizability. The current way of trying to create particles by emitting sticker panel is just too thermo-heavy, and a much easier way to create better particles would really allow creators to create levels with awesome visuals.

I would imagine for a shooter the thermo cost of particle effects are quite extensive. I personally would like built in calculators.

Built in math so that we would not have to expend thermo creating them. I think a tool that would benefit any genre of game. Although I really, really , really just want the text tool. Give us that and the RPG creators should be satisfied with the addition of 16 layers and save system.

You know what would be great? If followers precisely followed. If pistons didn't bend. If bolts didn't break off. If look at rotators looked at what they were supposed to unfailingly. If gravity readers didnt glitch emitters when placed on the entrance. If batteries actually outputted the signals they say, not 14.6% for 15%. If game enders actually ended the game. And probably countless other things... what I mostly think would be great would be higher precision...

I totally agree with Tynz21 but I would also like to see new changes within the community aspect of the game. Mm picks are getting too easily achieved, they are just normal levels these days with an extra sense of detail, nothing new at most times. The spammers are still gonna spam the cool pages with their copied garbage, how is Sumo Digital gonna prevent that. Filters and search field needs to be fixed big time. Patches should patch bugs and glitches, not bring more bugs and glitches that are worse then the old ones. LBP2 is really slow sometimes and lags pretty easily, I wonder how the PS3 will handle LBP3 if it barley can handle LBP2. And there's gonna be a huge split in performance and there will be 2 communities, one on PS4 and one on PS3, I don't like that.

I think we should get
1: materials that you can go through like hologram
2:some sort of logic that's like a wormhole but for different levels and different parts in a level (go through Gate A in Level 1, come out of Gate A in level 2, go out of gate B in level 2 come out at gate B in level 1)
3: being able to save costumes with stickers on them just as costumes (you can't wash the stickers off)
4: being able to actually share costumes, without having to do the sackbot thing (that way costumes wouldn't get stolen, or if they were at least you'd know the original creator)
5:the ability to sticker rope and all connectors/bolts
6: being able to change a sackbots costume without actually having to spawn a new sackbot
EDIT Almost forgot the most important ones: auto-reject settings for friends of friends and the ability to block players directly from there profile in game

We will probably have the dephysicalise tool from LittleBigPlanet Vita, and be able to do this.:)

I would like to send level option, where lets say you want a friend to work on part of your level in his/her spare time if they can't meet. So it would work like an LBPGIft, you send it, and someone downloads the level. The level would then be in a separate section of the moon which would store LBPGift levels. The only way to do this is to make a copyable level on your earth, but then there's a risk of other people copying it.

Pretty much what CrankyLandlord:

- Save individual costume pieces [Decorations and stickers would be permanent]
- Share Costumes/pieces without sackbots
- Dephysicalise Tool
- Additional states for materials [i.e. more than two [on/off] colours for neon, hologram, etc.]
- 3-state Buffer/Logic
- [DLC-free] Warphole - doesn't require all players, can be reversible
- Sticker/Decorate string, bolts, etc.
- Stickers on logic don't disappear when you close the microchip.
- Water material
- More materials to have colour tweakers.

What do you guys think of animated level pins? They could work like gifs. You could adjust the number of frames and frame rate, and each frame could just be a sticker you upload, just like level pins are now. Obviously there'd be limit on frame and time amounts, but it would still give us a more interesting and eye-catching way of showing players what our levels are like before they play them.

I certainly agree with what pretty much everyone else said so far so no point in me repeating that. I'm simple in the way that I want to see some new useful costume parts as well as decorations. I would also really like to be able to freely choose the color of decorations (instead of certain ones going to popit color) I'm a pretty big costume maker so I'd like to see that happen. I'm excited to be able to also customize the new characters as well. Another thing I really want is more synths for the music sequencer, preferably some things that are a bit more realistic sounding. I would also like some more options to balance out the sound on the sequencers as well. There's a lot I'd like to see happen but from what we've already seen of the game so far, it really looks promising :)

I'm really excited for this new level trailer feature that was just announced! It's even better than my idea of animated level pins!
