I know there's a very rare chance of this happening (Mostly because the game was confirmed 4-player) but I just want to know if anyone is up for the idea of more then 4 players?

I doubt it will happen when you consider all the online issues that the previous games had.
Also I think the PS4 can only support 4 controllers (correct me if I'm wrong.)

But I hope so. *Fingers Crossed*

You are correct about it only supporting 4 controllers, but that doesn't mean it couldn't work in online mode, but then again the online did have a lot of issues so the chances we'll get it are slim.

Karting only supports 4 players locally and 8 players online. I think the trouble is that 8 players on most levels would put a lot of stress on the PS3 system, some of my levels crash if you play it with four (sometimes three) so even a moderately simple may lag or crash (especially if all the players wore custom costumes [with stickers and decorations]).

Would I like to see it? Yes

It should be possible on the PS4 though, depending on some other things.

I couldn't even imagine how hard the 5+ player collectables would be to acquire.

I'm up for 8 people in one level because 16 layers will feel like were alone

Why not? It could allow for levels to have something like a lobby. Having a 16 person tank war or FPS battle would be nice.

I guess it would be possible on PS4 due to the large amount of RAM (if that does anything to it), but i don't think it would be possible on PS3 because it would crash very frequently.

I feel like 4 players is enough. More players would mean more connectivity issues such as lag, and disconnections.:(

PS3 limitations + Loads of cross compatibility = Low hopes even for PS4

the game would lag horribly. I think they should keep it Co-op.

I don't think more than 4 players would work in the actual levels,as there is very little more than 4 players would add. Roleplay levels would benefit, and a few others, but the extra strain on your game with lag and such would not work out,I'm afraid. :(

Now what COULD happen....Is allowing more than 4 people in your pod. One host can invite another and their whole party could pop in for a total of 8 Sackfolk! (Do we have to change that term to cover Swoop,Oddsock,Toggle & Co? Err...Sackthings?)

And if you start a level ,it would just send the host back to their pod.

I have to agree with Smuffy04, four players is enough =)

No, I think Sackfolk still works.

Ideally, It would be great...

...Realistically, not so much.

It would be a nice addition to add but I doubt it'll happen due to lag from everyone. I personally would love playing with more than 4 people would be great for versus levels but with several connections + custom costumes + alot of level detail = insta freeze. Though if games like gta can do it which has custom custom costumes connections and different detailed areas that take awhile to load then it may be possible if done right. But I cant see it happening anytime soon it would definitely be a great addition though. Imagine 8 people creating on same moon?

When I played one of those Gold Mining levels earlier today with 4 other players I had a lot of fun. It would be even better with around 8-12 players.
In lbp karting there was up to 8. Went completely fine.

Odviously, this pretty much isn't going to be a thing because of The 4 character thing, but it'd be nice... Especially for maps that require multiple people, having just 4 people is kinda boring... :hood:

Maybe the game supports 8 players on ps4, but levels have a player cap/player ammount reccomondation

Reccomondation? I think it should be forced. Would allow for cheating in levels already existing. It would be better if all the existing levels were max 4 players, but there was a special mode that letted you have more. So basicly:

cooperative mode (1-4)
versus mode (1-4)
cutscene mode (1-4)
Online mode (1-16)

Could be used for rpg levels, hangout levels, city levels and stuff like that.
