View Full Version : Bigger moons to compensate for increasing number of levels?

I'm not sure if this belongs in 'everything else' so feel free to move it if it does.

With the addition of LBP3, it's possible that we'll get an extra 20 level spaces for our Earths, which would give us 60 spaces overall. The current moons don't even have that kind of space, so how do you think they should fix this?

I have a lot of blank levels I use for building complex items, custom stickers, sackbots, logic, etc. so my current moon is near-enough full. I've mentioned a 'bank' idea in the past where you could store the other levels outside of your moon. The levels would be displayed as a list and you'd be able to move levels freely between your moon and your bank. The bank would still function the same as the moon but it would be intended more for levels your not going to publish online (although this would be up to the user). So we could have 60 levels on the moon and an extra 40 in your bank for example.

I'd also like the crater sizes to be customizable to help organize levels, although this would be needed as much if the bank idea is introduced. It would help a lot with series of levels or levels that have several sub-levels if we could clump the spaces together to form our own craters.

But if we have bigger moons, the tides would mess up and catastrophes would happen to our little sack people :(
I like this bank idea, but I prefer the craters more, maybe you could design your own moon, so a crater with so many level spaces in could be one project, and the size of the level space gives a visual representation of how important it is. For example, a crater with 5 level slots in it, the centre crater being the largest, which holds the main proportion of the level, with the outer level slots holding music tests and what not.

But the bank idea is good, like Pokemon have done, you download a bank to store your Pokemon if your PC boxes can't hold them and you can deposit and withdraw at any time, and also transport Pokemon from older generations to the bank.

Perhaps we could move the moon further away to stop the tides messing up?
Anyway, that's what I was going for with the crater idea, although, you wouldn't necessarily need to resize the badges since you could move the spaces around to put a big space where you need it.

Being able to purchase more level spaces would be a good idea, I wouldn't really need it but I'd buy it anyway. Perhaps it could give you say 15 extra moon spaces and 10 more earth spaces.

Yes, I like the idea of more earth spaces. I see so many amazing creators have to stop building, or make second accounts or even delete old levels so they can publish new ones.
Maybe bring the Info Moon (going alllllllll da way back) back to help with the tide situation?

You know you can just back-up the level and delete it so when you feel like you want to use something from the level just import it. And honestly my moon has 3 levels as I only work on 2 levels at a time so increase decrease it really doesn't affect me he he!

@Scott, I work as Security officer and when I go ticketing, in the staff car park, the amount of people I see parking in wrong spaces when there are spaces available is outstanding. People only park there because its closer, and the free spaces are an extra 30 second walk. So people park there because its even more effort to get to work. Backing-up levels, deleting them and importing all the time for most players, would be classed as too much effort, and would just complain here and on forums about it. And some players may only gt short amounts of time on, and having to back-up things and import other things will just fill some of that time. And also, as most players are moving over to the better consoles now, why would they make it more effort accessing your levels? Surely, if anything does change, it would be quicker to do so?

I think more earth and moon spaces should be a given, honestly. And possibly two story earths if need be. It was a crucial part to creators and I think most all of us ran out of space in LBP2, so if they don't add more spaces I'd be really disappointed in their effort. Hahahahah

I think I would settle for simply making the My Moon easier to navigate. The My Earth is fine since it's the player's choice where to put uploaded levels, but on the moon, I quite often find myself hunting for the right crater.

Why not have the My Moon formatted like the Earth, letting you pick up and drop levels anywhere you want rather than crater searching. Consequently, this would remove the crater restrictions so you could cram tons of levels around there.
