View Full Version : Compatible Drawing Pad

For Artist such as myself, I found the PS Move stick very unsteady, which made it very hard to draw with, even just placing stickers was difficult. I believe having a compatible drawing pad connected through the USB port or even wireless would make it so much easier to draw or paint. Having it where it can tell the pressure of your pen, as so to thicken the strokes.

That's not a bad idea.

I use a wireless Wacom at work and love the thing. It would be great to see it work with the PS4.

not sure how much i'd use a tablet in creating a level itself, but for sticker art etc i would love it! i'll hop on this pipedream ;)

Drawing stickers with a tablet would be awesome... But hell I'd take the normal PS controller at this point over the PS-move. *mew

I've always hoped for this and a mouse. :)

If I'm trying to make a move sticker I usually end up drawing it on paper, taking a PS eye photo, and then tracing it in the move paint tool. That's how I made my profile picture on LBP. This is a long and tedious process and a drawing pad would definitely facilitate it. They could even just make it an app for your phone or tablet...

This idea sounds great, and with no objections from the community, so I'm going to try and attempt to fine grain the details in the way I would see it

Swiping does NOTHING until you press once to toggle painting/place once so that you don't always accidentally place and paint everywhere (from corners of the touchpad) found this to be a problem in Blacklight Retribution, when you are going to get a killstreak then you die by a stupid taunt from accidentally swiping on the touchpad in the corner with your palm (its just an annoyance) and maybe this can be disabled for veteran creators who might find it annoying later (creation training wheels!) |Press to activate paint/stickering; can be disabled if creation becomes used to|

The cursor is to have an exact point, not the annoying circle with another bulky circle in it, makes it very hard for more precise pictures (which I have found to be true) maybe for all popit, not just for this; allow different cursor ends to be chosen for higher accuracy, or just for those who wanna change it up once in a while |Different cursor ends for different uses; Accuracy and style|

Sony app compability (stated by Tynz21) |Allow all normal paint but at the touch of your fingertips; Add a preview on the device so that making it on an electronic device has an upside|

More options, like in Photoshop. Some things I would really love to see; Stroke, Feather, Gradient, Mask, LAYERS/Layer tools (locking/masking), Overlay, Channels, Filters (maybe for special background stickers?), Different tools;Pencil, brush, bucket, blur, sharpen, dodge, burn; Color changing tools/Color wheel functionality, ETC. |Add more functionality to the paint tool, for those who can't just paint a Mona Lisa with a ballpoint pen, or just want extra effects that simply are not possible without effects|

Add video editing for the PS4 video feature; Clipping, tweaking and all of the such |Allow editing of video to make sure video is correct on the first try|

ZOOOOOOOM, add zooming feature, and maybe software side sensitivity, so that creating isn't a pain as stated by NEARLY EVERY USER OF THE PAINT TOOL! |Make the paint tool easier to use by implementing zoom, and sensitivity, as most users change while creating levels, the same should be possible for Paint|

Allow customization of separate implemented layers/stickers; Hues, Movement, Masking, and after-placement effects |Being slightly bumped, or feeling different about a placement shouldn't be cause for redoing a whole picture, just allow after-placement tweaking in order to have final-touch implementation|

Allow importing of pictures to be used to create pictures; Would make transparency, and such easier if you could use professional software then bring into LBP to finalize; Would still apply to copyright, and LBP rules (no nudes, and no NIKE and such) |This would allow for lots of professionalization of scenes, and would bring many details to life; Professional editing, and importation/exportation would benefit the LBP community if set rules were still in place|

Allow joystick for fine tuning/as preference for those who like being able to constantly tweak pictures, and have things exactly in place |allow joystick as a cursor in Paint for fine details|

Hope you all like my suggestions!

It could be useful if they supported the Vita controller like they do for the PS Playroom.

I wish I could find a short clip to show what I mean, but you can hook your vita up to the PS4, and use the Vita as a drawing pad.

There is that bit of a touch area on the PS4 controllers, but boy.. the thought of using a wacom. I like this idea so much, I started shopping around for a new wireless one to update my old one just for giggles.
