I think that they should make the game 3D, that way you can make real 3D houses, 3D missions and create everything 10X better than the standard 3D that doesn't allow you to change direction. I think I'll need to go into a lot more detail... Okay, LittleBigPlanet only allows you to travel left and right as well as 3 blocks in total forwards and backwards, Mm should... Well SONY should make the game a real 3D game and the first ever game to be able to creat a true 3D level creator, in stead of top-down levels... I dunno, just a suggestion and I think that it's a little too late to suggest this lol

Actual 3D would be difficult to do especially at this point. You can get close with 16 layers though. I'm thinking top down plus a 3D cam would be a good way to get close to 3D.

I agree but I think if they took the time and effort to do this type of thing, they'd make a fortune out of it, oh I know, maybe they could do it as a certain DLC... I dunno the thought just popped into my head as I'm typing this lol, meh I still think they should have done it 3D but I can also see the reasons of why they haven't... Oh well, Mm might or might not do a true 3D LBP...

If it was easy to make a game fully custom in three dimensions, modelling software wouldn't require so many classes and tutorials.

In the first lbp trailer, it showed two Toggles walking TOWARDS the outer layers... that might be able to help...

There is definitely some improvements in regards to 3D, some of the trailers give away new features and it's been mentioned a few times in interviews. There's still Mm's new IP that you can look forward to if your a PS4 player.

Was it toggle moving into the world or was it the terrain coming out of the world.the material that he was walking on is an animated material from the cross controller kit. Also, there's a new tool called the character animation tweaker. It allows you to set different animations for a character or a sackbot. Not trying to be negative here, and there IS 16 layers so...

It was a auto-runner level like ya 2nd guess. The level itself is what was moving and not really the characters. LBP3 still doesn't have full 3D like LBPkarting does, And that's just fine with me and many others. *mew

If it were to be a DLC it probably wouldn't be too far off from what we already have.

I see evryones point but LittleBigPlanet Karting is a true 3D game, the level editor is what really made me want to play it because it was true 3D, only down part to it was the fact that the pixels/graphics were degraded...

Which they would still be if they made the game full 3D. Plus things would be vastly different and infinitely more difficult to master...

Yeah... I suppose that is a good point, but isn't that what adds the fun into the game? Trying to master difficult things?

I agree it would be cool to have 3D but then again adding 16 layers is a big add on to the game. I think that's enough to work with and mess around with. You can probably do some pretty cool stuff with 16 layers including 3D type levels. But the moment they add in full 3D to the game it isn't really LBP anymore now is it? LBP is meant to stay 2D and a platformer, but allowing you to push the limits yourself and go above and beyond

I guess with each new game, the new features are a small step up from what we had rather than just jumping to something that's too dramatically different. Maybe we'll have full 3D a few lbp titles from now...

I suppose you're right and 16 layers is quite a lot considering we only have 3 as of now... Well I suppose it'll be interesting how things will turn out and I guess you never know what the future holds...

It is already 3D. Full 3D navigation:

Also in the trailer there is a fully 3D moving boss fight:

So both the environment and the players is 3D.
