View Full Version : Custom Hud and Start Menu Manipulation

This is always one of those things I've had thoughts on since LBP3 was announce. Making custom huds.
Most people tend to use like sticker panel and hologram to make there own custom object counters or life bars that always seem to lag a bit when following a sackbot or just sackboy. A Hud tool would be very useful to eliminate some of these issues

- Not only can you make custom HP/DP/etc Meters of your own, but perhaps move around the hud features that already are around the screen. kinda like how LBPK had a hud editor.

- and the idea for a controlinator to use the start button. so you can edit the pause menu to ur liking for your level.
For example. Lets say you want to have a Map of the level on the start menu, along with a progress tracker. This might seem pointless given that there are tools like this in LBP3. But it would be a nice thing to have.

What would you do with a Custom Hud tool?

Yes, yes, 100 times yes. This is one thing that LBPKarting did right that other LBP games don't have.

RPGs would be looking pretty achievable if they implemented a HUD tool.

But seriously though, it's not just RPGs that would benefit from this. If someone was making a versus minigame, they could create a start-up menu with ease. I'm sure there is tons more that could be done, I just can't think of them.

Start menus are very simple. I use a custom hud in my LBP2 RPG, but I have found that it doesnt follow the action when zooming in for more cinematic moments. An actual custom hud would do wonders. And also decrease from the amount of logic we would have to spend creating the illusion. This is the first thing I recommend and I hope we see it in some form.
