Found out since like a week ago - thack has just broke up with theck. Well... they exist, just that thack don't go in front of theck no more and now they act as if they were single layered blocks.

Now levels that uses sublayers in LBP2 will be broken in LBP3 if theck do go behind thack.
I don't remember trying to put thack materials or objects in pipes, as I'm currently away from my PS3 & PS4 right now.

Looks like they just used the sub layers from LittleBigPlanet PS Vita.

Well, making them have no collisions at all would make them work even better than LBP2 I imagine... also, if you open up the options for a material ( Square, and this is for ALL materials, and objects as well, actually... )
You'll see a new option: ''position in layer'' which allows you to slightly offset the layer, 10 units forwards or backwards, which also works kinda like Theck and Thack layers... except this isn't glitched, so, as you said about levels being broken, this will never break.
That's why I never use glitches to create, cause they just might fix them and then you have a broken level...

Wait... What is Theck and Thack!?
"Theck" is a layer with the thickness of a Checkpoint, and the "Thack" is the layer which Sackboy fits in.

Don't forget to mention: This is a GLITCH, keep that in mind when using them, as I said in my last post ;)

Maybe it's the extended layers that possibly messed up the theck and thack collisions.

Would be nice if it was reverted back so the thack objects can go in front of theck and fits in pipes. Perfect if there is grid movement allowed when positioning thack in front of theck and vice versa.
