It's been a long time but i recently got back in to creating because i wanted to play a fighting game like smash. Playstation all stars is a bit slow and campy and i cant buy a wii u for smash or buy melee. Sooooo i chose the hard way and continued my smash project back in lbp2.

So far i have 4 characters done and am playing them all against friends to see how good each character is for balance. The knockback is like smash but i am not sure how to utilize any kind of HUD due to the camera. Ledge grabbing and double jumps are a thing and items will eventually be implemented but no grabs as of now.

There are two stages done and are final destination and battlefield clones and 6 more stages are in the making. The 6 will have stage hazards that will go with the characters and their games and will have the option to turn them off.

Lots of work is to be done but i am really motivated to make this game haha. As of now with 4 characters, i will be doing a lot of balancing between them and then continue on the rest.

I was working on a project like tht on lbp2 I went thru early testing and hit the beta version but It became impossible to finish without save data capabilities. Since Lbp3 came out I haven't really thought about redoing it. Now I see your working on it, I would love to share my logic and fighters to help. Add me IGN: Imsoreel

Lbp3 added a lot of tools that made things much easier to deal with like animations and mechanics. In terms of hud, i may not add that because of the fact that apparently online play crashes the game (currently on ps4) so i dont know if it could work. I would like to hear your solution however.

No captain falcon lol. Ill take a lot of non-smash characters. I have 7 in mind but need an eighth character...
Alice (Alice madness returns)
Steve (from that game called "minecraft")
Blacksmith (castle crashers)
Sage (from my other fighting level that wasnt all that great)
I have an idea for the eighth but nobody would know who it is because i never published my other level that i was makin in november... So yea

i was actually working on the same thing. lol

i didn't really make characters yet, i'm just focusing on making items and fighting logic and animations right now.

Are you incorporating knockback and stuff like that? Or is it your own style? What kind of stuff have you made?

I already have my custom costumes (not Smash characters), the game logo, some items, most animations, and a couple of stages completed.
Right now i'm working on the main fighter bot template.

Yes, i'm incorporating knockback and i'll add my own custom changes if it gets too complicated :)

After all that, i'll probably have to fit in CPU bots and a singleplayer mode due to LBP3's multiplayer malfunctions.

I don't you can control frame rate unless your using a sprite. Since the game has all that built in already. The most you cat do to control the frames is use the character animation tweaker as best you can. :/

I control the frame rates by using lots of the same animation (the main animation) so it will get more power delivered, making the sackbot focus on that one animation more than the others.
Then I add only one or more of the other animations to slightly adjust the main animation, to simply raise an arm a bit or something like that.
