View Full Version : The Never Ending Level

You all know the game 'Never Ending Story' forum game that goes:

User 1: There once was a man who had a dog
User 2: The dog's name was Duke (that is my dog's name IRL :p)
User 3: His dog ran away from home
User 4: And got hit by a truck
User 5: Marino cried.

Well, I had the idea (a couple days ago, don't know why I didn't post it sooner :p) that we could play the Never Ending Story IN GAME.

How? Well, I could create a level with dialogue throughout narrating a story with a cliffhanger at the end. There is then a key at the end. The key goes to another Sackperson's continuation of the story. That Sackperson has another key at the end of THEIR level, & the level would be, literally, never ending.

The only problem I can forsee is that the key cannot be placed right when the user finishes their part because the next level hasn't been created yet. This can be overcome by adding the key when the continuation level IS made though. :)

& here is my ending of all my idea posts: :p

Comments? Concerns? Suggestions? Complaints? :)

Sounds interesting... what exactly would the story be about?

It would be random - that is the whole point. The Sackpeople will make it up as they go on. The themes can change quickly too, it doesn't have to be about one person. Someone can easily introduce new characters. However, a new Sackperson should not be allowed to start their own stories or kill any character that they personally did not make up. I'm sure as these thoughts come about I can change the rules a bit. :)

It would be hilarious to see how warped the story would get from its original source...:p

Yeah, it's kind of like telephone where things change so quickly! :p
