    Arkle's Training Basement
    by  cakito123
[1P Only] [Co-Creator : FusY-_-KaH] [Difficulty: Medium/Hard] Arkle needs you, training in his frozen base! Use the Star-PowerUp to get to higher places and Good Luck!! [Music By: BuddyDestruction]

Whoa (sorry bio, please don't call saul :P), the first thought that has come across my mind when I read the title was actually being in a basement. Arkle has a ice fortress down there! Ok I'm jealous, I'm going to let of some steam by saying how awesome this level is! All of your needs are satisfied with platforming antics along with a special twist. You will come across these green, spinning starts throughout your training and when you come in contact with one, you will temporarily have the power to do a dash in any direction! For instance, when you come across wall jumping and the other wall is too far, use the star's power to reach the other end. When you need to get up to a ledge higher than usual, then dashing upwards comes in handy. Those who are looking for a well-balanced challenge will be pleased, now go help Arkle!

    hyperdude95

I like this guy Arkle. He noticed he put on a few pounds so he built this whole amazing training center just to get back into shape. I wonder though, with all the work that went into building this facility, didn't he get into shape that way? He must have, because you have to be in top physical shape to endure this training regimen. I love his abilities! You got the super jump and then you got the super spinny fly across the room bust through walls jump that is quite simply, a blast! Uh, no pun intended, you'll see why. Now, couple those two cool powers with the wall jump and who boy, hold onto your britches kids, this ride is intense! Oh shoot! I almost forgot the super cool teleport me across the stage maneuver! Man, that think is cool! Try it out.

    biorogue

This level gives me one more reason to Yell!! "Jurema, Jurema, Jurema, why do you haunt me wherever I go, Jurema, Jurema, Jurema, Why do you want to eat me so bad?" This level is a fantastic platforming experience. There are 2 main gameplay mechanics in play here and both are needed to achieve the top score and to make it to that scoreboard to register you Top Score. The first being the ability to give ya an extra POW when jumping and the other is to give you that extra , BLAMM! when smacking into walls of ice. The placement of the extra score bubbles is what really separates this level from most. You really have to fully utilize your POW and BLAMM ability to gather them all. This is a must play for all platformer seekers out there

    Temple of the Western Gate
    by  shookie_monster
A Lost Shadow's journey awaits, as he makes his way through the Temple of the Western Gates. Music by @Buddydestruction.

Eyes. . . stunned. . . that opening camera shot sold me right away and I knew I wasn't going to be dissapointed! From the gorgeous scenery all the way to the interesting cape and wall jumping gameplay, it made me feel like I went and bought a house without going inside of it to check it out. But what stood out to me the most, and this is probably the first time, was the amazing music by Buddydestruction! If the game play antics of flying over and under obstacles to hit buttons and to get to new heights without falling into a pit of awesome looking lava didn't catch you, then the music will be your candy. It sounded so realistic to me like it was from a videogame soundtrack with the banging on the drums and whatnot gathering up the suspense! I thought it was pre-setted LBP music but it was customed made and I really want a copy of it! It also set the intense mood in the level overall, and shookie has done a fantastic job!

    hyperdude95

Ooh, a return to this series! I love it! In this, we enter the temple and are greeted by a familiar stone figure who gives us a kind of ominous riddle. What could it mean? "The flight of the Chosen from the Whispering Woods." Guess we'll find out as we embark on this journey. Ahh, "flight" must refer to this cape I've been issued. Sweet! This will make getting through this temple a cinch! Hmm, may have spoke too soon because after only a few steps, I see wooden spikes just sitting there, inviting me to my doom. This can be a somewhat tricky temple if you haven't yet mastered the cape but fear not, I have faith that you can make through this beautiful environment.

    biorogue

Wowsers, I love this new cape power-up so much, cause it is levels like this that make me squirm just thinking about replaying it. This was a fantastically flying experience. Really pushing the boundaries of what this new cape power-up has to offer us as players. The best part I believe to this besides being a hidden bubble extravaganza, it is very multi-player friendly while maintaining a medium difficulty. This is no easy achievement to achieve and I give mad props to Shookie for level design. A definite play for those cape-scaders looking for a thrilling level to play and to learn what great obstacles and challenges can be made with the cape!!

LBN SackQuest: A Cold Knight in the Cardboard Kingdom (Part 1)
    by  shookie_monster
[Best for 1 Player] An entry in Littlebignetwork's SACKQUEST. There is a crisis in the Cardboard Kingdom! No, not rescuing a princess! Something much more important and chivalrous...something knightly. Make your way through the Cardboard Kingdom to speak with King Hoof Hearted about this epic quest! This is a "brief" story. Music by @idgowans. Lady Latrine costume by @Calyst_Aayla

What? Another Shookie level? Wow! This dude can knock 'em out. In this endeavor we play as Sir Lance and he is given the very important task of locating...underpants? Ha ha, yep, that's right, underpants. I won't go into the whole story as to why he must locate this type of garment but suffice it to say, it's pretty humorous. This is one of my favorite types of levels. Cardboard. I just love the stuff and it looks so cool here. Gameplay wise, well, it's a shookie level, so you know it's good and fun. Plenty of extra point bubbles to get too and oh! speaking of point bubbles, I just love the way these are placed in this level! Sure there's some placed neatly, but what I love are the piles of them here and there. Awesome! Play this level.

    biorogue

This was such a lovely series to play. There’s something about it that just makes you happy. Possibly, it’s because the cardboard design with the pretty pink lighting has a great LBP feeling. Or maybe it’s the funny story (underpants, indeed!) and clever rhymes. Then there’s the gameplay, which really is great fun, especially in the second Part which features a wonderfully flowing race through more bubbles than I have ever seen together in one place. Whatever it is, shookie should bottle it and sell it. He’d make a fortune. In the meantime, if you ever want some pure LBP enjoyment this level series will hit the spot. It’s charming, very well designed and has all of shookie’s flair for good gameplay. What more could you want?

[LBN SackQuest] The Story of Epic Purple Lion and You (1)
    by  Five-Ate-Five
The Epic Purple Lion King is way to old to be a king now! Someone must replace his position. Who can it be? Of course you! Just do some basic challenges! Not so hard, is it? [No more info for prevent spoiling!] Huge Credit: Sharpshot925 (Narrator) ITARIBOY (Lion), Flash7404 (Octopus), THELILking (Duck) Actio1_608 (Paintings), Idgowans (Music), adamaniam987 (special thanks) AFTER PLAY THIS LEVEL YOU CAN SKIP CUT SCENES WITH CIRCLE!!!

Well, this was unexpected! By now Five-Ate-Five has very much established his style. Vibrant, colourful, almost cartoon-like and with lots of random objects as decorations. This series starts out in that same way. There’s so much to feast the eyes on, gorgeous vivid detail everywhere and an Epic Purple Lion who lives up to his name in every way. All excellent, creative fun. But then something strange happens and you’re spun into the topsy-turvy world that exists inside the checkpoint. It’s an ingenious idea and beautifully executed. You are in such a disorientating, weird and wonderful place. It has a glowing whiteness otherworldliness; nothing seems solid apart from the occasional strange contraption and the maze of tubes that send you hurtling in all directions. Do checkpoints work? Will you ever get out alive and re-surface in the game? It’s a clever piece of work and a real departure from his usual style and Five-Ate-Five pulls it off brilliantly. Then on to the final showdown with the Epic Purple Lion himself to round off a very impressive series, full of creativity and life.

    shropshirelass

I have grown to love five-ate-five's level's and this is just another reason to follow his work and hurry to everything he publishes. This time 5-8-5 presents a wonderfully crafted story crafted series that has you whizzing from a very colorful and vibrant world to a the inside of a checkpoint and then back to that very colorful and vibrant world. From Pop art to abstract to pop art so seamlessly seems like a recipe for disaster, but 5-8-5 goes against the grain and does it without flaw, that is so jammed pack full of Uber goodness that it is almost unreal to be true. The lion, the levels, the story are so wonderfully crafted you can't help but to refer this to a friend.

    STAR WARS: Jabba's Palace: err...Etc!
    by  julesyjules
Infiltrate Jabba's lair and rescue Han Solo. Donut anyone?

Please do not let the "err.. Etc!" have an end! Let it go on forever and ever, because the series wouldn't be the same if it was continued. Fantastic and remarkable like al the previous levels with creative game play elements that engage you in a Star Wars mood. From hoping over frogs at night that will catch you by the tongue if you make one mishap, all the way to hiding in boxes (SNAAAAKE) to avoid lights and security robots in order to steal keys, A great experience is brought to all once again. Hang on a sec, was I just offered a donut in the level description? The urge. . . I must. . AHH ITS CHERRY FLAVORED *collapses*.

    hyperdude95

oh boy oh boy oh boy! It's here! Was my reaction upon seeing this published. I absolutely love this series and as I've said time and again, this is the best Star Wars series in all of LBP, heck, maybe even all of gaming. Be quiet KOTOR fans! Here, we return to Tatooine to rescue our friends and face off with Jabba. But getting to him won't be so easy. You'll need plenty of patience because this is going to require some stealth and a little bit of agility, okay, quite a bit of agility. Just like in the film, once you get to Jabba, you'll be tossed down and have to battle it out with the beast. These levels are really brilliant. So full of awesome platforming and hilarious dialog. Don't miss out, play it today!

    biorogue

Going to steal a line from Bio for a moment..... WHOA!!! I am astonished to leave a review for this level and I am rather going speechless right about now.... Some may criticize (mainly Empire Strikes Back fans) me for this, but my favorite Episode of Star Wars is ... Drum roll please ... Return of the Jedi. This was from beginning to end and amazing level, it has you sneaking about stealthily to welding your light saber. The detail was freaking amazing again, for crying out loud I hope it isn't just me who noticed the little rocks crumbling from the ledges you jump on outside Jabba's fortress. I can't exclaim how much I look forward to just sitting down one day and just playing the entire series one after the other. This is a masterpiece series and this level just makes it ever more of a triumph of creator intuition and design. George Lucas Disney would be proud of what you have created!!

    L-I-M-I

After the dark intensity of the past couple of Chapters, this level takes a different direction and seems to hark back to the spirit of the earlier LBP1 levels in the series. The emphasis is on the light-hearted with lashings of humour and some fun, but still at times challenging, platforming. The combination of stealth gameplay, wall jumping and...erm… donuts works brilliantly. I know I’m recycling an earlier review here (actually, I shouldn’t have confessed to that - no one would have noticed :P), but like all good parodies this both sends up and pays fond tribute to the original version. I loved Jabba and Princess Leia’s gold bikini and got to feel so cool battling away (seemingly!) expertly with a lightsaber at the end. As Leems says the attention to detail is outstanding and there lots of small touches, like the way at one point you spawn into your own tiny cell with a barred window, that all go to make this such a great playing experience. I had a blast jumping, sneaking and snacking my way through this. It’s still epic but in a different way.

    LBN SACKQUEST- Hillbilly Hijinx Three
    by  The_Hog_Flu_Too
An entry in LittleBigNetwork's Sackquest competition. Join those crazed Hillbillies in one last romp through the backwoods. The Hippy menace has returned to exact revenge. Foil their ambitions once and for all. Thanks to my partners in crime.....SHOOKIE, CORTEZ, MALAHK-ANGEL, PUPPY-PRINCESS and AJK-JACK. 1Player only

It's both a great day and a sad day. It's great because we have another fantastic edition of Hillbilly Hijinx and it's sad that this is the conclusion to the series. In this final chapter, hippies have absconded with your grandma and your truck, which one you're more upset over is to be determined. You set out to rescue not only your truck and granny, but the rest of your kinfolk as well. Getting to the hippie compound will not be easy. You have a lot of critters and obstacles in your way. Mean ol snappin' turtles, alligators, rolling porcupines, pushy raccoons, the list goes on, and this is before you even make it inside! This is another great set in this series of levels with tons of laugh out loud moments. Now, go get your truck back, oh and your grandma too!

    biorogue

There’s an incorrigible part of me that believes absolutely that there’s some part of the US which is exactly like the world of Hillbilly Hijinx…and I would actually be very disappointed if it weren’t true. Not sure I would like to visit in person, mind you. Is there a closed season for the English? No? But then I don’t have to visit. I can get the whole colourful, earthy and hilarious experience by playing this series. It’s packed with laugh out loud moments, fantastic critters and some truly startling chicken-related platforming. The_Hog_Flu depicts this world with such gusto and with a Rabelaisian humour all his own. There’s not a dull moment and you’ll be grinning from ear to ear as you move from one scene to the next, never knowing quite what to expect. Cool gameplay, great humour and sheer artistry all go to make this an LBP experience like no other.

    shropshirelass

Hee Haw gone Wild, dun diggity this was out right astonishing. These dang ole' dirty hippies have taken old mee maw and the rest of the family and have began to run some un-regulated tests without your permission or your blessing. Well this is where you come into play, We need you to rescue Hog's kin, before it is too late. This series has you taken down bosses from a swamp runner to battling the Man himself, Hogzilla. If your familiar with Hog, then you know he is the king of character creation, heck just to see all the characters he has made is enough to play this series, but couple that with a quirky story you got yourself a masterpiece. This will have you grinning from ear to ear from beginning to end.

(LBN SACKQUEST) Once, Lost In My Imagination. Pt.1 (Strictly 1p)
    by  L-I-M-I
    ___ A story of self discovery ___ --> "an entry in Littlebignetworks Sackquest" <-- Car Music: @einwurst Stickers: @little-big-playe and @jimmyj75 Awesome Thanks to @magnum131 Testers: @shropshire-lass & @mr_fusion

uh, Whoa™. I'm seriously going to struggle to write this because I'm at a loss for words for what I was just witness to. First, well, see, you come in and then there's this thing and oh wait, first there was another dill and it was cool and stuff and he was all like, "I'm bummed out." and his mom was like, "why you sad and stuff?" Hmm. That sounds down right horrendous. I can do better than that! Come on Bio! Do it for leems. I was absolutely astounded by the animation work on display here. This is grade A material. I kept thinking, "wait, is this LBP or the Cartoon Network?" I'm sorry no dashes, I just can't put two coherent sentences together. This is one of the most awesome levels I've played. There are so many aspects to it that I don't know where to start. Folks, don't be put off by my idiotic review, just go see this thing for yourself.

    biorogue

Ever since I heard L-I-M-I was working on an entry for Sackquest, I was excited for two reasons. One was that I only played a level of his on Vita and not on LBP2 before. The other reason was that I get to see his creating skills on LBP2 especially since he is making something huge for the LBN contest. Right when the level loaded it began with an animated section and I was amazing by the detail of movement and facial expressions with moving mouths and voice acting. The animation sequence truly brought the story to life with power and meaning. Now when you git the game play bits of the three-parted series, you'll find yourself driving around crashing into other vehicles with your mom in the car, you'll be in the wild west fighting off a big bad mayor, and you'll end off in a fantastic platformer with wall jumping and cape gliding antics topped with an action sequence at the end. Overall, this entry is going to far and many people will surely love it, especially when the journey connects a tale of a time where we played with toys letting our imagination run free and had bonding moments with our mothers.

    hyperdude95

Where to start? This is a truly, truly impressive series. It has such depth to it, both in terms of the story telling and the gameplay. I got to see little bits of it in create mode and I couldn’t for the life of me see how L-i-m-I was going to tie together such entirely disparate elements as a topdown driving section, a Western town and animated figures. It was something of a revelation then when I got to play the whole series through and I saw how cleverly it was all woven together into a poignant and powerful tale. It’s brilliantly scripted and acted and has so many wonderful moments in it. My favourite was at the beginning of Part3 where the boy starts to plan out a level and, as he talks, more and more of it appears around his mother until his voice fades out and there you are playing the level. It’s a fantastic transition from story to gameplay. The relationship between the boy and his mother is beautifully done and having you play as the mother was such a great stroke as it weaves you personally into the story. There’s so much packed into these 3 levels from, racing to cartoons to some very cool platforming. It’s a tour de force. Kudos to you Leems. You should be very proud.

[LBN SackQuest] The Epic Quest for Loads of Loot
    by  Shaggy40000
On the Search for Loads of Loot, Sir of Awesome enters the "Castle of Pain", filled with loads of deadly traps and occupied, by a mighty, magic creature guarding the Loot in the highest of all Castle Towers. [SINGLEPLAYER ONLY] An entry to the Little Big Network SackQuest contest.

This entry had something special to it, a mechanic that was very fascinated and believe it or not, I do not think I played a level with it before. You will instantly get an Assassin's Creed feeling with the main of finding loads of loot and riches. Though the attribute that stood out to me --and I am sure many others will notice it -- were the traps. Prepare for blazing fire, spikes, bouncy platforms on the floor that will fling you flying into your death and you have been equipped with a rolling feature to help avoid those. Now, it may not sound too amazing, but once you try it for your self, you will instantly realize you are going to have to rely on timing and skill to make your way through, and that is going to make this adventure a really entertaining one.

    hyperdude95

Haha (and if that laughter seems faintly unhinged, I'll explain why). You play as Sir of Awesome, a knight with Little Lord Fauntleroy golden ringlets and a black moustache (bottle blonde?!?) whose noble quest appears to be the pursuit of loot and lots of it. Undeterred by its name (Castle of Pain...hmm) and a positive hail of the bodies of wounded and dying knights, he enters the castle in search of the big prize. And, boy, does this castle live up to its name. There are lethal traps everywhere…a whole world of pain. Your only defence is a rolling mechanism which is guaranteed to keep you out of trouble if you time it right. If, like me, you don’t, you will be spiked, roasted, and crushed more times than you'd think possible (thank goodness there's no death counter!). Finally you encounter the beast guarding the treasure and defeating him is almost a cakewalk after all you have gone through to get there! This is an action-packed adventure set in a fantastic looking castle. It’s funny, clever and as hard as nails – a quest which will test your sense of humour almost to breaking point!

Hey y'all, thanks for the spotlight. It's always a pleasure making these Hillbilly levels, but alas....I reckon this was the Swan Song. Maybe I'll make some hillbilly themed mini games in the future, but the storyline has come to an end. Believe it or not, a vast majority of the characters and set pieces are based off of actual people and locales that I have known and loved.
And congrats to the other folk who've earned themselve's a spotlight. For anybody who hasn't been to LBN recently, go check out the Sackquest thread. THere were some truely epic masterpieces submitted.....some of which are spotlighted here.

Dang, I got quite a few plays since the hub went up. Thanks again for including me. I was frozen at about 100. Went to 300 overnight! Oh, and I forgot to mention.....Those familiar with EnochRoot ought to give his Sackquest entry a try (and those not familiar with his work for that matter). Quest for the Golden Sack...I think it's called. It's a clever lil' social commentary of the state of LBP nowadays.
