FROM THE LEVEL SHOWCASE:
The Outskirts of the Shrine of Worship
[ONE PLAYER ONLY!] The journey of the Chosen, toward the Highland Hills, to the Whispering Woods to break the Three Seals. Music by
Everytime I see that stone golem, I have to admit, I do the ole spongebob meme smile, cause it is usually surrounded by an outstanding level. This is definetly one of those types of platformers that relies more on interactivity then dexterity. I always love a great platformer that forces me to actually use my noggin to get to that splendid scoreboard at the end, but not too hard on the noggin that causes me frustration. This was a happy medium that of difficulty meets pleasure. Kudos to you Shookie!
It’s always a great pleasure to play the levels in this series by Shookie. He creates that perfect blend of platforming and puzzles, something to get you thinking as you journey through the beautiful almost ICO-like backdrops. The puzzles are clever but never frustrating and the beauty of the setting makes the whole experience relaxing as well as interesting. Excellent, thoughtful and inspiring work.

Splendid, Marvelous, tantalizing, with a touch of Euphoria. Beautiful while intensely enjoyable. I knew within the first 2 minutes this was going to be one of those levels that leaves an imprint in your mind. The colors, the animations, the whole kitten caboodle was outright gorgeous. If you haven't already enjoyed this level, I would hurry up and hit that queue button. Kudos Konnron!!
This level is so packed with creativity, colour and above all charm that it’s just guaranteed to leave you with a huge smile on your face and your zest for life restored (if it needed restoring XD). I loved the bold lines, blocks of colour and all the lovely characters waiting for you in each new screen. I only wish I had a notebook as brim-full of ideas and artistry as this. I enjoyed every moment in the magical world of Konnron’s imagination.
Sense Me Maybe?
Red laser, blue laser, yellow laser! What do they do? Explore each laser's function as you progress through this laser lab! Help from
Geez, I thought I have seen just about every type of puzzle induced platformers that rely on player sensors and then dawnbreaker comes and introduces some more nifty obstacles that combine dexterity meets timing meets sackthing. This is a well thought out platformer that builds upon years of experience to bring us even more compounded ideals of platforming we have seen recently. I am loving these dual ideas in level these days including this one for sure. Kudo Breaker of Dawn
I’m a sucker for a good puzzle level and this one is top-notch. You find yourself in a dimly lit futuristic facility and the only way out is to understand and then manipulate the different properties of the red, yellow and blue lasers in your path. With a combination of experimentation, observation, timing, and skill you gradually learn the patterns and master the puzzles. It’s cleverly put together with a nice difficulty progression as each new puzzle adds a new layer of complexity. I loved the concept and the cool and faintly menacing atmosphere. An absorbing, entertaining level that you shouldn’t miss.
Fists Of Freedom (1P only)
Every story has an ending. Every hero has a villain. Every adventure has a finale... Sequel to Fists Of Fury. 1 player only to avoid lag.
You ever play a level and wish there was a sequel and then of a sudden pops into existence the sequel you have been hoping for? Well it just happened and it blew freakin mind, again. Your hero begins exactly where you left off, it even has an overlap to get you up to speed if can't fully remember how the first left off. I found this to be a genius idea!!! yes that is 3 exclamation marks there. Kudos to Mic-ey
A great sequel to a great series. MicGorbachev is back with more thrilling action from the mean streets of Chinatown. From the first notes of the Hong Kong Phooey theme, the mood is set and you’re all ready for a new kung fu adventure, battling bad guys with droopy moustaches and bad attitude. You find yourself once again dodging in and out of the alleyways of a beautifully realised Chinatown with those gorgeous neon signs lighting up the dark. You have some great kung fu moves to play with too – those baddies don’t stand a chance. Charming, polished and just downright fun to play.
Come test your skills in this old school inspired shootem up! If you like twin stick shooters and lots of explosives then this is the level for you! Take a run through enemy territory in this tank shooter with unconventional ammo. This level was inspired by many old school shooters. I was only able to make it single player due to the effects. It even has slowdown with one player. Should work with mutiple players as spectators, but might have even more lag. Have Fun!!
Did I just play LBP or a mobile app of some sorts that features airstrikes, explosions, weapon upgrades, and some sweet freaking gaming. I mean take a tank make explosions, seen it hundred times before, but not like this. Definitely a Michael Bay *hate him or love him, he's got the best explosions in the biz) meets Jackal from NES. Kudos to Smash
Just wow. This is one very impressive tank shooter. These topdown shooter levels can sometimes seem pedestrian but not this one. Smooth as butter controls, plenty of explosions and some great details make it a blast to play. There are heaps of different power ups/upgrades and ammo types and plenty of thrilling action. There’s an awesome respawn mechanic too…which I tested a lot XD I’m useless at this kind of level but despite my lack of skill I enjoyed every action-packed moment.
STAR WARS: Ewok Village: Part One: err...Etc!
No broccoli were harmed during the making of this level. Missing a few cutscenes and whatnot due to lack of time, but enjoy! (I hope). 1P only.
I was a bit nervous about playing this as the Ewok village level was my favourite level in the LBP1 incarnation of this series. I needn’t have worried though. The Ewoks may not have had quite the same handmade charm and humour as in the LBP1 version but the level design is superb. I love the midnight blue backdrop and atmospheric lighting and the broccoli make even better trees than the original dolls heads. The gameplay is the star here however – inventive, clever and challenging. It opens with a bang with the speed bike chase and then my timing and skills (or lack of them rather :P) get tested in earnest by a series of platforming obstacles. Bouncing up through moving platforms is harder than it looks XD. This series has been one the absolute highlights of LBP and I do hope julesyjules can be prevailed upon to continue it in LBP3.
A big grin seeing the series in continuation as LBP will never be the same without it. I start the level and see that this is probably the last level to the saga. While I was a bit sad and hoped that it may be untrue, i did not want that to interfere with my enjoyment for these entries and this one is just as awesome as that others. Enter a creature fested forest where you will be jumping on tree-like pads and ziplining across the treetops as you feel like Tarzan but with a lightsaber. Challenging and fun is once again equally balanced with an epic opening and closing keeping us on out toes. If its the last entry, its ok. But I really do hope etc.. still continues to be etc.. in LittleBigPlanet 3.
Midway - Air Superiority [1p]
While patrouilling around Midway you encounter a fleet of the Navy. Use the weaponry of your A6M to defend against several navy aircrafts and to destroy frigates and battleships.
Shaggy40000’s latest level is an awesome dogfighting simulator which has you battling to shoot down enemy ships and planes in the battle of the Midway. It looks absolutely stunning, the graphic detail is great and that and the cool sound effects all make playing this an atmospheric and absorbing experience. I’m a terrible pilot and may have failed to shoot down any planes (oh the shame) but the AI is brilliantly done and works very well… for those with patience and more skill than I have to master the controls. Very impressive and fun level to play.
Take joy in a intense and well created flight simulator that will have you shoot torpedoes under the water to destroy the annoying enemy tanks whilst flying around in the sky dodging incoming fire from the aerial danger from above. A simple tutorial is well blended in the beginning of a fight so even beginner will get an equal grip just like a master pilot may already have. Try to beat your highscore in this awesome 3D like shooter as the challenge never gets boring.
