  1. i've just tested the emit trick some a long while back.
none of my levels use it yet.
also something to keep in mind.
your own levels will load much faster for you
then it will for others. *mew
  2. Hey i just noticed you are using the same emit trick i am: With the emitters to save thermo. I just ran a test today, and it seemed to take a REALLY long time publishing, but the actual levels load time once published was really low. Which is good news...i think, since the small content i included would overheat the level 5 times.

Did you run into any major loading times with yours?
  3. Yeah no problem... i''d say just go ahead and try it out and see for your self how it works.
testing is the best way to go man~ *mew
  4. I see....hmmm. Well that could be a problem, since the battle system already uses almost 2X thermo, mostly logic. I never tried loading it online before. I mainly did not want the players to have to redo their skill points every time the game level links--especially considering you can backtrack or explore in the game. Im not sure if people would mind longer load times or re-assigning points....ahh im rambling.

    Thanks for the info
  5. It works like this.
all data in your level is saved within the level.
and when loading a level it has to load all data that is saved in the level even if unemitted.
this is why the level does not need to reload when something is emitted while playing it.

but using the destroy and emit trick in the level does help with stopping lag while playing it.
and lets you make a endless level if wanted no matter how much stuff is unemitted.

  6. Hmmmm interesting. So your saying if I have essentially a blank level, with nothing but emitters and the thermo is at maybe 5 percent initially, the game would still take a long time to load? Thats more of the question i was getting at with Aya. I thought the game wouldnt count my other complex objects like the thermo didnt count the first emitted object, so the load time would be really fast...

And your saying this has been tried before? I havent uploaded a level yet, so i wouldnt know...
  7. just happen to read your talk with Aya.
yeah that should work however it has this problem when trying to fit
more then one full thermo worth in the level... like lets say
it's x3 full thermo if everything was out at once.
but even with nothing emitted yet in the level the level will load
super slow when first trying to load it up... like in one case
it took like 5 minutes to load a x3 thermo level in LBP2.

plus it'll kick all but the host when the level does load more times then not.
just telling ya little of what i've seen.
