Your way of level icon designing is pretty much similar to my method, though, I don't cut out or use stickers as much except for the color stickers. But...I only have half an hour (tho that might depend on whether no one's home or not since my ps3 is at the livingroom) to do that stuff...I wonder how you get all that time from?
Yeah man, I always do those in a basic empty level. I usually cut out stickers on cardboard on various layers and then arrange them how I wish. I then go into front view and snap a few different pictures at different zoom levels. Then I pick the best one. Sometimes I've spend up to 3 or 4 hours perfecting a icon.
I'm just curious here but, how do you make your level icons? Do you go to a separate testing level to make them? And if you do (or don't), do you put stickers or do you draw it up?

ah, well you go to valhalla and there is something wrong that you will have to fix. Should span my next 3-4 levels or so... of course...they will be platform heavy with ight story.
Sorry to bother you again, but, out of curiosity, what is 'Project Valhalla' about anyway?

Hey man..no secret..its just my upcoming level set in Valhalla that I don't have a name for yet... I always publish my levels while working on them incase of my PS# dying/being stolen etc.
I'm curious. I looked at lbp.me a while ago and I'm curious...what's this 'Valhalla Project' you're doing? Don't tell me the details if you want to keep it a secret.
